  • In this video I explore using the Moogerfooger MF-104M's Feedback Insert feature which allows you to run the delay repeats through external effects. In this case I run the feedback chain through Elektron's Analog Drive distortion pedal. The Korg Monologue (analog monophonic synth) is used as the sound source. Hopefully this gives you a general idea of the kinds of things you can do with this cool feature.

MF 104-M possibly the best delay pedal of all time.

Wow, you're getting some unreal tones with these three bad boys.
    Great work, mate!

Hello, nice setup with the insert on the delay. How does the Analog Drive handel line-level signals, as I understand it's inputs are made for high-Z (high Impedance) signals like guitars / basses, no?

You had the "raw" sound on quite long attack and high cutoff setting. I also thought Korg's Monotron delay at 51 € on Thomann on the count of not wanting to invest 317 € only in one additional device, such as Moogerfooger, to use with my 249 € Monologue.

Ilpressive and creative, sounds like a hole modular system, are there other fx pedals with a "feedback auxiliary" routing like this? Apart of the moogs?

THOM AlphaXIII it's not crazy common, but there are quite a few guitar pedals that have this

Thanks for this, looking forward to trying it after work! Just a bit confused about where the audio from the Analog Drive goes...does the feedback go both in and out of the Moogerfooger?

Yeah exactly, effectively the Drive is inserted into the feedback chain so that every echo from the delay get some distortion. So the signal path goes out of the feedback insert of MF-104M, through the Drive, then back into the MF-104M (using an insert cable which splits a TRS side into two TS sides).

once upon a synth Thanks mate, looking forward to trying it. I was watching your will it pair video with the MF last night in bed and even though I was up at 4am I had the urge to hook my Sub 37 to it. I’ve only just got the Sub and for some reason I wasn’t too impressed when I first hooked it up so I never went back but last night thanks to you I was up making some really cool sound, the sound I’ve been after for ages 😁 Then I came across this earlier and I’ve never even thought of hooking my Heat to the feedback, despite wanting them distorted, filtered echoes for a while but not knowing how! So yeah, big thanks for the inspiration and tips 👍
