This song moves me to tears every time I listen to it! The authentic Native American ceremonial chants, the authentic flute, everything about it truely stirs my soul to such extent that I must question if I'm experiencing t ok me past life, dejavous kinda thing going on? Genetic memory perhaps? All I know is it stirs my soul and spirit so profoundly everytime I listen to it, I can't help but wonder, and consider the possibilities! Thank you and God Bless youVince Gill for writing, composing and performing such a masterful piece that truely embodies what PRIDE and reverence for history is all about! We need SO much more of THAT to heal and preserve this CONSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC!
I’m born and raised in Oklahoma and at my elementary school (shout out to James L Dennis) in 4th grade we used this song for our play about “Oklahoma” great times
lived in oklahoma for 14 years, and i have to say its an amazing state. im lucky to have been born in a great state like this! long live oklahoma, forever will you be the greatest state in the USA!
i visited Oklahoma for a college visit last June. it was a long drive from Indiana, but it was so worth it. i fell in love with not only the college, but everything about Oklahoma. i was so amazed by the people because you guys have dealt with terror attacks, 1-mile wide tornadoes, droughts, all of that, and it seems like it never bothers you. Oklahoma is the best state in the USA with the best and i am proud to say that i will be moving to Oklahoma this August. BOOMER SOONER :)
MASTERFUL! The Native American flute, chants and drumbeats stir my spirit and soul so profoundly and to such degree I can't help but wonder if there's some distant genetic heritage in my lineage? Genetic memory?
I love this song and I love this place my home I've lived here for ten years and I go to Chisholm and this song make me proud of this place it went from the dust bowl, the Great Depression and 9/11 but we are still standing strong keep it up Oklahoma we love you all of us cause we definitely are the sons and the daughters and the children of the west stay strong and keep going :)
I went to that school too! I remember when we sang this. Our librarian always cried, and the music teacher would tell us to sing the last part loudly. Now, they don’t do that anymore. Charge up is on Wednesday, and the third graders don’t get to do the nativity scene. Nobody does. Luckily, I am not there, and my year got the last of the teachers and traditions before they all left/retired/were removed. I hope Cimarron doesn’t fall to the same fate :(
I was born in Stockholm Sweden and me and my family moved to Edmond Oklahoma and i went to a religious public school. I was forced to sing this song after living there for two months. I still live in Edmond, ill be moving back to Sweden soon, but Oklahoma is a great state.
Great job, Jimmy Webb and Vince Gill on writing this song! It is beautiful and if I were an Okie I would be proud, too. I am not an Okie but I am still proud being an American and Oklahoma is a part of this great country. Vince, awarded for BMI Icon 2014 in song writing and recipient of the Irving Waugh Award of Excellence, the highest award by CMA. It is no wonder.
i love this song im practicing for a concert with my hundred other friends we are rising brighter than a star look of what we have become from just a bunch of dirt roads to the best stste of the fifty
NEED THIS ON SPOTIFY this song is something I grew up listening to, and my playlist just doesn't feel right without it, there is a version of it by Horseshoe Road on there but it's not quite the same.
I have always been a Okie and always will be. I may live in Montana right now but I was born an Okie and I will die an Okie. 2:54 - 3:06 Is my moto and always will be. God Bless Oklahoma and the United States!!!
Wife’s an Okie. When we were dating I’d fly to see her (from Australia) and everyone in the states would be like “why the heck are you going to Oklahoma?” 🤣. I love the state. Would happily move there if the wife decided she wanted to live in America again.
I am a Oklahoman I am meeting the end I live in Oklahoma and country stands for the Indians were you I don't know if we stole their country but we did our best we were smart we restaurant we live together in peace and harmony
Born and raised in Tulsa. No matter how many people make fun of me saying I'm an incest child or whatever. (Though I am NOT) I am proud to be and Okie. Oklahoma deals with plenty things, just like everywhere else.. But we always stand strong!

I'm one of them. The entire state is run by corruption, and is underfunded in virtually every sector. Enjoy living in the worst state in the nation.
