Wife’s an Okie. When we were dating I’d fly to see her (from Australia) and everyone in the states would be like “why the heck are you going to Oklahoma?” 🤣. I love the state. Would happily move there if the wife decided she wanted to live in America again.
MASTERFUL! The Native American flute, chants and drumbeats stir my spirit and soul so profoundly and to such degree I can't help but wonder if there's some distant genetic heritage in my lineage? Genetic memory?

This song moves me to tears every time I listen to it! The authentic Native American ceremonial chants, the authentic flute, everything about it truely stirs my soul to such extent that I must question if I'm experiencing t ok me past life, dejavous kinda thing going on? Genetic memory perhaps? All I know is it stirs my soul and spirit so profoundly everytime I listen to it, I can't help but wonder, and consider the possibilities! Thank you and God Bless youVince Gill for writing, composing and performing such a masterful piece that truely embodies what PRIDE and reverence for history is all about! We need SO much more of THAT to heal and preserve this CONSTITUTIONAL REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC!

Stop whining and go live in whatever third world country you live in

I was born in Stockholm Sweden and me and my family moved to Edmond Oklahoma and i went to a religious public school. I was forced to sing this song after living there for two months. I still live in Edmond, ill be moving back to Sweden soon, but Oklahoma is a great state.

I love this song and I love this place my home I've lived here for ten years and I go to Chisholm and this song make me proud of this place it went from the dust bowl,the Great Depression and 9/11 but we are still standing strong keep it up Oklahoma we love you all of us cause we definitely are the sons and the daughters and the children of the west stay strong and keep going :)

I went to that school too! I remember when we sang this. Our librarian always cried, and the music teacher would tell us to sing the last part loudly. Now, they don’t do that anymore. Charge up is on Wednesday, and the third graders don’t get to do the nativity scene. Nobody does. Luckily, I am not there, and my year got the last of the teachers and traditions before they all left/retired/were removed. I hope Cimarron doesn’t fall to the same fate :(

I am not an Okie but I am still proud being an American and Oklahoma is a part of this great country. Vince, awarded for BMI Icon 2014 in song writing and recipient of the Irving Waugh Award of Excellence, the highest award by CMA. It is no wonder.
