      Wanted to take a moment to thank you for this comment. I’ve had to block several people who said ugly things about the kids in this video. It’s a shame someone has that much anger in their hearts to see something negative here. Just a couple kids experiencing something cool for the first time. Of course they are going to be excited. Says a lot about you that you found joy in it. I hope God continues to bless you with that type of happiness.

    I had 15 pyramid traps till I my dad ran over them with a tractor after I’d put them outta the way where he’d said they would be safe, now they’re crushed flat any chance on me bending them back out. Lol I had my traps in my ponds out in the pasture and would catch about 50-80lbs a day checking them in the morning and then in the evening. I would even go play in them with my Rhino stirring up the bottom and they seemed to like it. But I had a neighbor who would come across my fence and check some traps at night. PS I used dried pressed crawfish 🦞 pellets

    In my country (the Netherlands), these crawfish are an invasive species. They are very prolific and spread quickly. They have taken over from the endemic species. The main reason is their appetite, and they brought a disease with them. They are immuun to it, but the endemic crawfish are not. They got sick and died. Now there are maybe two, but probably only one place in the whole country where the endemic crawfish still live. That population is very small, and we don't think they will survive.
    The red crawfish eat almost anything; when there is not much food, the big ones even eat the small ones. Because they can travel over land, they are found almost everywhere. They also damage the levees, banks and even the land by digging holes and tunnels in the ground.
    It has proven to be impossible to eradicate the red crawfish here, and we will have to learn to live with them. Luckely nature adapts to new things. In the beginning, our local wildlife did not "know" the new crawfish and did not eat them. Now the wildlife has learned that crawfish are good to eat and relatively easy to catch. Herons, storks, seagulls, Great Crested Grebes, and other birds of prey have started to catch and eat them. I even have seen ducks eating the very small ones. Water predators also found them to be good food. Pike, bass, carp, and other fish prey on them.
    Never the less, the crawfish are still a big nuisance. Whole ponds are eaten completely empty by the crawfish. Nothing else can live in such waters. It takes years for these ponds to get back to their former glory. The problem is that the crawfish will return and empty it again. You need only one female with eggs to start a population that grows like wildfire.

      Your people are some of the most resourceful in the world. I am a huge fan of the Netherlands. I think that y’all could build traps and start catching and eating them. It is truly a delicacy. I have looked into coming to the Netherlands to go duck hunting. Would love to come over there and show people how to catch crawfish. Why would you use garlic on crustaceans? It overwhelms the taste of the crawfish. I would want to taste what I am eating, and garlic makes that impossible. At least when you use as much as you did. Other than that. I enjoyed watching the video. It was fun to watch you and the kids getting those crawfish.

    • @OutsidetheLevees
      @OutsidetheLevees  7 месяцев назад

      The garlic literally came out a crawfish boil. Don’t be so closed minded try it and see if you like it

    • @palmarolavlklingholm9684
      @palmarolavlklingholm9684 7 месяцев назад

      @@OutsidetheLevees Problem to me is that crustaceans have a mild taste, and if you put garlic with it, you will only taste garlic and nothing else. And I am not very fond of garlic.
