Bro you have such a awesome subscriber base. That's so cool that dude reached out and got you back them taillights. Definitely makes the car look better and your not out alot of money getting aftermarket.
Looks good. They should make a bar that fits in the ‘C’ light similar to the ones for the headlights. I think it would look cleaner with full led in that section vs the individual stock look.
personally love my OEM taillights and the deeper tone they hold, more of a deep ruby rather than a chromed cherry. with that deleted my turn signals and made them all white LED reverse lights and the OEM taillights now are more "modern" switch back style. ironically they are almost identical to yours but just a shade darker "internally smoked and polished" as my car is black so the just a hair darker looks stunning.
LOVE the look of the white section (turn signal and reverse light) after the painting. I think the dark Cherry looks amazing on lapis, but I’m still not sure about doing this to my WRB STi. I like the OEM tails more than anything aftermarket. I have the tail as turn, added reverse light, and a red vinyl tint to cover the white section.
@@minzhang8036 could you share the link to the overlay you use? I’ve had the red overlay that deletes the white back light section on my car for 7 years now lol
Have you considered getting the module that changes the oem blinkers in the tails? I recently saw a module that makes the "c light" in the oem brake light a turn signal.
Just subscribe, don’t got a subie, but I watched your ceramic coat for carbon fiber hood, I order it couple weeks back, n just did my carbon fiber hood today , thanks to your video🤙🏼
Hey did you paint the reflector under the brake light or just leave them clear after you painted the chrome parts? I’m doing mine right now and I like how yours look. I watched the subispeed video when Kevin installed the modified technologies c bars. But I don’t think he painted his reflectors. Any help would be great. Thanks
I’m thinking about doing this too on my car, I do love the Subie speed v2 but the OEM is still very nice. When you black out the chrome, does it diminish the light output a bit? Obviously the lense is still OEM. But I was under the impression that the chrome helps “reflect” lost light back out. Did you notice a difference?
Chrome is going to reflect more than black. The actual running and brake light is the same. Difference is very minimal. Especially if you run the dd module so the inner section is only your reverse light and no longer a blinker.

Looks great! Thanks for the shoutout! Glad I was able to contribute to the V2 STi build 👊🏻
MVP right here ✌🏻

I did almost the same except dark vinyl overlay, now I replace with the Subispeed USDM style, so in love.

I go over this in the video.
Well, you just inspired me to do this to my STI
Tails look nice man! Also not a fan of the smoked lenses, but this is different and it looks nice!
Can you post a link to the video showing how you cut them open to black them out? I scrolled through your videos and couldn't find it. Thanks.
No video on this
Is the reverse lights still bright enough since you painted the reflector bowls black ?
Yes plenty bright especially when you have an LED in there.

Geez they look soo good

Yes. I painted that one as well otherwise it’s too red and clashes.
@@Autofreakgarage that was exactly my thought. It looks so big and outta place. Thank you 🙏

Another great video bro.. Quick question.
Did you black out the c light area too? Underneath the c light plastic glass?
No. That area was left chrome to keep the illumination the same.
@@Autofreakgarage Thank you! I did mine a few months ago and light put isn't good. I think I will have to redo it. What rotary tool did you use?
A dremel was used
Great stuff! Did you sand it down before paint them?
No sanding done
those are the best tail lights!
Good stuff.
beautiful

no difference from the manufacturer's, then what for?
