Wish Tom’s made something similar to the red Tom’s for the GT86. Beautiful OEM plus look. Agreed, the OEM tails in some lights look pink. I’m curious, cracking the OEMS and painting them a dark red instead of black like you did.
Nothing beats OEM. Anything aftermarket reminds me of the 90s

There’s a company called Depo, that sells some oem style taillights but it’s dark Cherry red, except for the reflector on it. I’ve been thinking of trying those out to see how they look 🤔 I always have loved the oem look!

what do i think about the gr hatch tails? currently have red overlay i noticed you running the same thing on ur hatch and wonderin whether or not to put the middle smoke tints on the clear part
I just ran the red tint on my hatch and left the clear part alone. I know I contemplated doing the smoked clear at one point but never got to doing it. I think it would look clean on a darker color.
Question: What exhaust ended up being your favorite? I ended up going with the tomei, but also wished it was a dual tip design. Just wondering which one ended up being your favorite!

What do you think of the buddy club taillights i wanna change my taillights but idk if i wanna keep them stock and do the first mod you did or do the buddy club ones
Not a fan of the buddy club. Probably my least favorite out there.
I have the OLM spec CR tinted and they look sick. So many other STI owners have tried to get me to trade with them 😂
I have a pair of those in clear. They are made by VLAND and the turn signal on the left has 2 faulty bulbs 2 months after their one-year warranty. I love the style but the quality wise it makes me disappointed. And there's no luck with their customer service dept.

Do you know where you could find the v2 tail lights today? There's gotta be some way to get your hands on them.
They don’t make them anymore. As mentioned, you can maybe find a set laying around somewhere or a used set, but they are no longer in production.
I just ordered some jdm style v2 taillights on subi speed, cost s pretty penny but should finish my build!

Nothing wrong with that! The OEM's are a good looking tail. Just needs a few mods to make them even better.

There isn’t a link. They were custom done from an OEM set of tails.

Be careful changing taillights many times also, I think from the studs on the back of the tail light grinding from taking them out caused rust in the mounting holes on my 2020. I was shocked to see it when I put mine back to stock.
Was only a small amount of surface rust and I sanded it out and sealed it. But something to watch out for, I notice on the 2022 wrx they got rid of that design for mounting taillights.
Is there anybody that makes OEM+ tails or kits for them?

@@fordifly1368 Not a fan of matte fixtures and narrow range 650nm LED’s. I like my taillights to have every frequency from yellow-reds, and well into nearfield IR. You’ll see a lot of color abberation, but that’s what makes them attractive!

@@fordifly1368 As we move into the future, these are the things I miss. Simple, poinless, and ludicrously inefficient. Which is about 90% of why I love driving these cars. So I tend to go the other direction. Retro despite all reason, and in spite of all reason.
I’m waiting for warranty to expire. The SRH projectors are an eyesore. I really want some HID’s, but I might take the easy way out with some 98 CRI ambers. Amber like a high presure sodium lamp!
