  • My tool chest finally came in after 3 weeks of being on back order and its defective. The drawers do not open and close smoothly like you will see in other peoples videos. Going to exchange it for another one and hope its better. ‪@harborfreight‬ #harborfreight

For the money they are charging these days I think the Husky brand is better deal. HF has jumped the shark.

If u want a box with zero issues or blemishes at time of purchase, go spend about 14x the amount u spent and get a snap on box

  • @paultyler1125

The yukon boxs are one of the best choices FOR ITS PRICE RANGE! Sounds like you are expecting snap on or matco level finish out of a budget box. Come on man

I bought 2 of the US general 44” on sale for $299 a month or so, ago. I think that’s the same price as the Yukons right now. I almost thought about getting the Yukons but I really liked the deeper drawers.

Just finish putting the box together before " talking bad about anything"

  • @kennykobayashi

    I agree Send it back.

  • @TNRonin

Did the new one do better?

  • @DP-Moto

If im not mistaken, the slides aren't locked in all the way. I used to work at snapon building boxes and that was always a big issue people had was not locking the tracks down all the way

The Yukon is a VERY basic box, which is why it is on the lower spectrum for cost. Unlike it's comparative box the Husky or Kobalt it doesn't have soft close glides that pull and keep the drawers in. If you didn't have to "snap" these drawers in, they likely would just roll open if you were moving the cabinet around. Even on my US general, I have to snap them in, they are a thicker more solid drawer on the US general, so it doesn't feel as wonky like the lighter duty Yukon. I just purchased the same Yukon as you, and it won't be available till next month, but I wasn't expecting it to be the quality of the US General boxes at that price point. For me I need a box that is only about 18" deep which is the only reason I went with this box. I know from having another Yukon, (the single drawer with doors) It's very basic. You may have gotten a messed up box, but I don't think your replacement will be tons better, hope your exchange however proves me wrong though. Good luck!

The "locks" are sad rubber feet that are gripped by smashed metal tabs on the slides. I think being new, dry and cold are working to make the rubber hard and causing sticking. I have heard of people lubing the rubber to make it "one finger easy" as some guy said. You said the new one was better. The difference would be smaller rubber feet or less bending of the track, you could have easily fixed either much faster and easier than returning.
