Been in the painting and decorating trade for 16 years. I love spraying ceilings for it quickness and the beautiful finished look. The only downside to it is the covering everything because the overspray gets into the tiniest of gaps!
Good video Bill. I love this exact sprayer and highly recommend never rolling paint ever again. it is much faster once you mask up everything. While the video is great, please for those at home: 1) WEAR a respirator ALWAYS when spraying! You dont want to be breathing in this stuff, and you WILL even if you can't see it. 2) I would mask up the fans entirely, not just the top of the fan connected to the ceiling like in this video. It's extremely likely you will get excess spray on anything you don't mask. Spend the extra hours to seal everything! 3) get the extension rod for the sprayer (about 100 bucks from Bunnings but worth it) for painting ceilings or hard to reach areas.
It’s quicker while painting but surely the preparation makes it longer than traditional mention. Not to mention the potential mess from spraying. Roller for me
@@commanderkeen3787 A matter of taste. I personally wouln't roll any area you spray if possible because I like the uniform smooth finish from spraying. Plus it'll significantly increase the total time needed to paint walls (why not just rollin the first place instead if you want the rolled finish). You'll see the roller paint pattern on the sections of sprayed wet paint where you roll, which will look different to the nice smooth finish you'll get elsewhere from the sprayer. If some sections after spraying dont look right, instead of back rolling, let the paint all dry then spray the bits you missed again. If you experience wet paint droplet lines down the wall, instead of rolling them while they are still wet, sand them back and respray once the wall is dry
Seems like a good product, but it seems like (as it has a trolley) it would have made sense to have a platform/bucket that the paint tin could sit on, so you could actually wheel it around without having to remove the paint tin and carrying it separately
Yes, and if you compare price between 350m and 350r, the 350m with unusable trolley costs 130€ more where I live. Makes no sense to buy the 350m for me.
The round loop hook at the front of this machine is meant for the handle of a 5 gallon bucket. Rest the bucket handle on the hook and wheel away around. High boys are meant for commercial use with 5 gallon buckets… the short boys are used for small jobs when a 1 gallon bucket is being used. But most new machines have flexible hoses for both 1 and 5 gallon situations. 😊 you can also rest a 1 gallon bucket inside a 5 gallon bucket then the handle of the 5 gallon can hook on to the machine and the gallon can stays safe inside the larger 5 gallon bucket.

The red button for the ball valve isn't for priming or to get started if your machine starts spitting or not spraying right hit that button it clears the ball valve on the pump for the piston the let the dried up latex or dibre free.
No rolling required....just make sure the gun is perpendicular to the surface at about 12" (30cm) and you're good to go. In fact, if you did roll afterwards, you'd wreck the paint finish. The only "downside" when renovating is to mask out really well which takes a bit of time to do properly. After that, the job takes bugger all to do. I did my ceiling the day before yesterday which is about 50sqm in area and that took me a total of 15 mins max to complete. The ceiling has large plaster cornices which alone, take about a day to paint with a brush. You do the math.
I have a Wagner but I find that when in use the air in the room becomes saturated with micro-droplets of paint so windows and doors also need to be masked. In your video you did not have to do this. Do you have any tips on how to avoid this from happening?
Great Video, just what I've been looking for to guide a purchase. Typically, I want to use mine for primer and emulsion paint when redoing whole houses. Also, what extras you've purchased 3 years on, warranty, reliability 3 years on?
Would you use it on the interior walls? I hear you get a better finish rolling? Are you going to spray the skirting and architrave next? And do cut ins with a large painters shield? I really want to see you use it more and get some 4k well lit footage of the finished result please. Ceilings do look flawless fare play. Am not a full time painter but have two fences to paint, total 100m or so, could not be bothered with a brush. Have ordered the small floor unit 300w 150 and look forward to receiving and using it. Have used a Wagner airless gun in the 70s in Germany and remember it gave no trouble. They know what they're doing!
If its a 350sqm house masking and filling takes about a day.. I used to be able to do it in fours house but now they go nuts with the nail guns and you can get up to 40 holes in one frame it used to be 12
Most wall paints ( ceiling paints tend to be pure whites ) can be used. Generally the paint will have directions for airless spray applications ( online ). Maybe not the ultra cheap paints, but then you wouldnt buy a 300£ spray gun if you used those. Generally wall paints are diluted by upto 10% before application. But specific paints may need further dilution. Always test on a ( large ) piece of cardboard before spraying your wall/ceiling.

How can you paint leaving the blinds up. Overspray all over the blinds. Not prepped at all.
Great video - Better than the Wagner advertisement video........
So how did u paint the walls having just done the ceiling ???? hard to cut in??
Good review, great job. Had me laughing with the book when you said something like - here check this out, yeah dont think so.
Great. Can I get this machine in Africa, Kenya?
Am not a full time painter but have two fences to paint, total 100m or so, could not be bothered with a brush. Have ordered the small floor unit 300w 150 and look forward to receiving and using it.
Have used a Wagner airless gun in the 70s in Germany and remember it gave no trouble. They know what they're doing!
How did it go?
Hi, I se that you are painting really close to windows and doors without covering, it is really so little paint dust around?
Great! Fab review. I do a lot of painting. This would save so much time.
Hi Bill, have you tried these on tiles?
Hi mr I have some questions if you answer it
1- does it spary’s paint over all or the less and how to avoid
Just got 1 of these delivered today, this video is tiptop and will save me loads of time in figuring it out. :)
Did you have to thin the paint? I’m using durable Matt and conscious of the machine getting clogged up
Always thin the paint especially with a low pressure machine
I assume that was a water based ceiling paint? Not synthetic paint?
Amazing job 👍🏻🇬🇧
How long did it take to setup the house (ie taping windows) before spraying
1.5 hours plus prep time
If its a 350sqm house masking and filling takes about a day.. I used to be able to do it in fours house but now they go nuts with the nail guns and you can get up to 40 holes in one frame it used to be 12
Do you mix the paint for wall and ceilings . ? Is the a specific paint for wall and ceilings or any ?
Thank you
Most wall paints ( ceiling paints tend to be pure whites ) can be used.
@@dwwolf4636 thank you so much . I bought mine but I haven’t used it yet!
Mate love this just bought one as learning to spray. Thanks
Remove the filters if you have problems..especially the one in the gun
Truly a great video, and like ALL true blue Aussie.. who needs instruction books.. honestly i think the video was awesome show what it can do with out the BS
You’re very welcome 👍👍👍
I’d like to know if you are still using this regularly and if it’s reliable? I’m looking at buying a sprayer to paint my entire house, inside and out. I’ve been reading reviews on Bunnings and it seems some of the smaller/ cheaper Wagner sprayers have faults after a few uses. Let me know what you think
Still going strong, I would always recommend the larger unit 👍
@@billshowto thanks for the advice I’ll keep my eye out for the bigger one
Great job. Question...why did you use gloss paint on the ceilings? Normally ceiling paint is flat. You have reflection. Maybe is because it is wet..
The ceiling paint was flat, the reflection was due to the wet paint 👍
Hey man! That looks Great!! Witch pressure do hou have with the paint?
Hello bro , what pressure did you used 4 or 5 ?thank you
Nice mate going to get one for my first sprayer
