SECRET INVASION: Should G'iah be the Next Big Bad MCU Villain ? | AVENGERS 5 Explained

G'iah is now the most powerful MCU character, and Marvel cannot ignore this. She has the powers of every Avenger and Guardian of the Galaxy, and she has a huge grudge against humanity--we think she's going to end up facing off against the Avengers, Thunderbolt Ross 9Red Hulk) and maybe even the Thunderbolts.

#SecretInvasion #Giah #Marvel
The President just executed Order 66 on the Skrulls, and G'iah is now the most powerful character in the MCU. This is about to start a major conflict between humanity and the Skrulls.
So what happens when the Skrulls are being massacred? G’iah will have to use her abilities to protect her people, and that might lead to a fight between her and the Avengers.
And we have a theory on how Secret Invasion perfectly ties into what Marvel planning for phases 5 and 6. That includes Captain America Brave New World, Thunderbolts and possibly a major crossover event that could be this saga’s Civil War.
And G’iah might be how we get a new hero who’s the most powerful charecter we’ve ever seen in the MCU.
So here’s how G’iah is about to change the hierarchy of power in the MCU.
Alright after Secret Invasion, G’iah might be the most powerful character in the MCU. She became a super Skrull and has the powers of….. well pretty much everyone.
She can use the abilities of beings like Captain Marvel, Hulk, Thanos, Drax, Mantis, and almost every superhuman we’ve ever seen in the MCU.
She and Gravik got a salad of abilities from the Harvest. That’s all the DNA Nick Fury and the Skrulls collected after the battle for Earth in Endgame.
The Harvest includes the DNA of Thor, Captain America, Groot, Drax, Abomination, Ghost, a Frost Beast, and even freaking Thanos.
So G’iah has all the powers, ever.
She’s pretty much the MCU’s Amazo.
Doug: so she’s now more powerful than all the Avengers combined?
Well we’re going to test that and figure out how powerful G’iah truly is.
First some limitations to her powers.
Even with all these abilities, she cannot mimic magic-based powers.
Doctor Strange had to learn his magic skills, whereas Wanda…. well that’s more complicated. Because she always had magical powers, but then the mind stone enhanced/unlocked her full potential.
Anyway, G’iah might be super powerful, the Scarlet Witch still turns her into spaghetti if they ever fight.
ad here
Now if only G’iah had Hawkeye’s DNA, then that would have been a different story.
Doug: what about Captain Marvel
That’s a good question.
Captain Marvel is considered to be one of the most powerful heroes in the MCU, probably second place to Wanda. And G’iah has her abilities.
But at this point, we don’t know if G’iah is as powerful as the beings she’s mimicking.
G’iah and Gravik were evenly matched since they were using the same abilities.
Gravik relied on brute force, while G’iah used her brain power to combine the abilities strategically and defeat him.
But what would happen if let’s say hypothetically G’iah had to fight Carol, who would win?
G’iah is a Super Skrull. Skrulls who were bio-engineered to mimic the abilities of other super beings.
There are many of them in the comics, but the first and the best Super Skrull is Kl'rt. He has the abilities of the Fantastic 4. All four of them.
In some stories, Kl'rt’s abilities are greater than those of the Fantastic 4. Meaning the copy is more powerful than the original.
If that’s the case in the MCU, then in a one-on-one fight, G’iah might defeat Carol.
And it seems like G’iah really likes using Captain Marvel’s abilities. Maybe it’s her way to stick it for Carol because of this [clip]
I would totally love to see Captain Marvel vs Super Skrull G’iah, now that could be awesome.
Maybe G’iah will be the fourth Marvel in the Marvels.
That being said, Carol received her powers directly from the space stone. G’iah might have Carol’s DNA, but she lacks that cosmic energy running in her veins.
So Captain Marvel will ultimately be more powerful, probably. It depends on the writers.
But the more important question is if G’iah will even stick around for future projects.
Or is it another case of a Celestial poking its head out of the ocean, and then everyone kinda forgetting about it ever happened.

Disney is the Villain.
Make your mind up, Ryan. If you think it was awful, let it go and make videos about something else. Unless this is now "whatever rotten tomatoes thinks in association with screen crush TM".
4:00 the fourth 'Marvel' in the upcoming The Marvels is gonna be my favorite Marvel character, Blue Marvel, who'll be played by Shamier Anderson
Actually, after the series ended, I thought that this maybe the direction the MCU was going. G'iah can be the next compelling villain. Her intentions can be "pure" but can still be counter to the Earth's best interest, hence an all out war
honestly your hair has been on point, the Keeps has to be working.
I fully believe that G'iah whole existence is to get killed by Kang, to show how big of a threat Kang really is in the next phase.
That would make too much sense for the mcu
Kinda hope that’s the case tbh I’m sick of all these overpowered heroes just popping up out of nowhere
True, only Kang can defeat a poweful hero like that
@@leog6653Hank Pym
i hope that happens cz G'iah being overpowered is disturbing
The Big Bad of the MCU is Disney
MODERN 2020 Disney
No, it's the WGA and bad writing
This hits diff....
Idk why they decided to make a big event into a show. like did y’all forget about kang dynasty?!?!? Wtf is going on with Disney
@@BaithNaimagine supporting the billionaires that do nothing for the art yet gain all the profits. Do you not think writers would be incentivised to write better stories if they were actually being paid properly and treated fair. It’s just weird that people are defending the massive corporations that have literally admitted they plan on waiting the strike out till the winter so writers and actors have a “very cold winter”
From this point on one of the most asked questions in the MCU has to be “ why couldn’t Giah handle this?” 😂
Terrible place to be
Because it didn't benefit her or her people 🤷🏾♂️
@yasuke1709 it would tho. Kang destroying the universe will 100% affect her
@smhgaming3259 I agree, I don't see her not getting involved when she realises that.
But for other things that only affect humanity, she won't be interested in, unless they can make her a good enough offer
You could say that about every character though... people can't be everywhere all at once
After Secret Invasion, I have zero confidence in Marvel's world building at the moment. So much discontinuity right now.
Been that way ever since Captain Marvel.
absoultely correct, like im still wondering about the frozen Celestial poking out of earth after Eternals being mentioned at all.
Yeah, it's almost like they are simply *Incapable* of telling good stories anymore 😩
Agreed. I feel the same way. It's especially disappointing considering that Kevin Feige approved the Secret Invasion finale which was AWFUL.
I bet you Deadpool 3 Decided to take shot at the Disney+ shows poking fun at them then a few years later when the MCU gets rebooted they’ll just Erase bad continuity.
Nearly every theory I've heard for the MCU recently is basically "how can we redo the death blow that was secret invasion"
Don't forget Sonya Falsworth.
Fury and Falsworth are the only people who know about G'iah and the Harvest. With Fury back in space and Maria Hill dead, Falsworth could become the head of a new world hero organisation. This could put her in direct conflict with President Ritson and even Thunderbolt Ross.
If the MCU introduce Sentry, I hope they don't ruin him.
Sentry is lame anyway
Your nativity is hilarious. You're obviously getting a depowered "grounded" Sentry who's probably more focused on his sexual identity than his split personality.
Wait what if Gaia will soon become the female version of Sentry and will be the villain of Thunderbolts
they already ruined him with that casting choice.
they got ryan gosling (the best casting for sentry), but they dropped him for reasons.
@@Dreadpoolz3977 - Because the MCU has spent so much time on sexual preference and identity... If you hate Disney so much, just stop watching everything Disney makes...
Super duper skrull is one of the many terrible mistakes marvel has made, they simply need to correct it passively by simply stating how the effects of the vial was temporary and never bring that character back lol
Word
Agree completely.
All they have to do is say the effect wears off after a month if they don't have access to that super machine. Its a stupidly easy fix in the comics writing world.
@@HeadCannonPrime yep!
but because its 2023 she will put her trust in a lowly white male who will betray her and thats how they will kill her off if they decide to retcon her or shel sacrifice herself for someone, make her a martyr lol@@HeadCannonPrime
Before even listening to this video... this is EXACTLY what I thought when watching the Finale. "So the MCU isn't going to get a Super Skrull villain... oh wait... 😳..." Perfect villain for a Young Avengers movie!
We are not getting a Young Avengers movie. We are only getting the conclusion to the Multiverse saga.
@@proto245I swear we were getting a young avengers movie titled “Avengers: Childrens Crusade” based on the comic book storyline
@@kirubeltedros1467 Before their line-up, I would've believed that. But they made it clear, they are only making the Avengers film for the crossover stuff like the finale of the multiverse saga
A Young Avengers film should've closed Phase 4 before Kang
Would be a cool way to introduce the REAL secret invasion. Also, I think the only way this actually happens is if you become a writer for the MCU, Ryan
Maybe as an Video game made by Capcom or turn to an anime movie.
There's also a rumor that both the Sentry and Hyperion are supposed to be the main antagonists in the Thunderbolts and if Steven Yeun is the Sentry than either Alexander Skarsgard or Ryan Gosling will be Hyperion. I'm assuming it'll be Alexander Skarsgard since Kevin Feige has openly admitted he knows about Ryan Gosling's request to be Ghost Rider in the MCU.
She is just too powerful in my opinion. Just hopefully her powers can be curtailed and aren't long lasting.
It's fanfiction level bullshit tbh. I wouldn't be surprised if they retcon/nullify it as soon as they can
THANKS for this, Doug and Ryan!!!
An added wrinkle to Ritson's anti-alien program is that New Asgard is nowhere near American soil. The number of treaties he would have to violate in order to attack the Asgardians is probably monumental. If Marvel is really going to push the political aspect of everything they've done so far, then this needs to be an important plot point. Unfortunately, since audiences in the U.S. have a bad tendency to ignore anything not U.S.-based, I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel doesn't deal with this in the slightest...even while they deal with Wakanda.
For the Superskrulls and G'iah I would like to see a downside or consequence introduced due to the way they received their abilities. Something to balance out how easily they're able to attain and seamlessly use their abilities. Maybe the use of their synthetic powers could cause some sort of degradation that is slowly killing them. Or at least having more than one power could hasten or amplify the degradation.
It makes her lose her hair (even her eyebrows) and she can't control her bowels so she has to wear adult diapers.
Every single part of that sounds amazing.
Thanks for the info
I think I'm actually ready to give up on kevin and the MCU
Same
Your idea is so good, Ryan, that I'm 100% sure Marvel will never do it. The prestige of the MCU has seriously been tarnished over the past few years.
This video is why I love this channel. Thanks Doug and Ryan
I dont think the powers the skrull mimic are as powerful as the real ones. Just for example the extremis power had a way stronger healing factor in iron man 3 than in secret invasion.
yeah it's a mixed bag of powers, but she can only use a couple at a time. basically, jack of all trades, master of none.
someone with complete mastery of their power, vs someone whose arms can be different shapes but only one or two at a time, i think gi'ah has the disadvantage.
add in a whole team of heroes with mastery of each of their own powers, and gi'ah is very easily beatable. (on paper, not in the writers' room, though..)
That a great idea on how to introduce The Sentry!
There's no guarantee the buffs you get from the super skrull machine are permanent.
People aren’t forgetting about Tiamut, I heard online that in Cap 4 he’s body will become a governmental mining operation that they don’t want the Avengers to get there hands on
it's avengers HQ in some of the comics as well - but either way, i just think it needs to be addressed, and sooner rather than later.
it's the elephant in the room, that nobody (inside the mcu) is talking about
@@slack__ True, they need to address it
My biggest complaint about this series is the last episode with the radioactive acting... If it was THAT radioactive wouldn't the people who were being held against their will in the those pods be sick as F after they got released? I understand that the "PODS" may have protected them while in them, but once they were released... They seemed casually rescuing them all while the walk in acting G Iah did made it seem like as soon as you stepped foot on property you start dying... That was a bit weak...
Dude, I was thinking the same thing. Like, "God, Rhodey's body would be fuuuuuucked if it was that bad."
My only educated guess is, yeah, like you said: "Pod = safety" or because they're in a basement below the reactor itself, that it's not particularly radioactive down there.
Or maybe because it isn't really that radioactive there, and g'iah just exaggerated the sickness to make gravik notice it
The writers forgot about the radiation part 😂
Dude honestly your ad spots are the best on RUclips.
Honestly thought this one ws going to be a cereal one lol
I love your point about the scarlet witch vs. Gaya. No doubt.
Love it when they use that intro song, you know it’s gonna be a darker theory video
It’s a shame I don’t have faith in Marvel to bring any of these very good ideas into fruition anymore.
Her Drax arm never fails to make me giggle. I think I'm gonna make it my profile picture one of these days lmao
Oh my God I CRACKED UP WHEN YOU DUBBED IN HULK FROM RAGNAROK SAYING "BABY ARMS" WHEN WE SAW G'IAH WITH HER TINY LITTLE DRAX ARM! LOL! LMMFAO!! 2:47
I was thinking the same thing. She’s THE Super Skrull.
0:47 I'm mad at how good that joke was shown off.
Im glad you brought this up, because i was actually hoping Gravik stuck around a while (he was an effective villain, until he wasnt lol), but seeing how the MCU almost always kills off their villains, i knew he was gonna bite it. However, now that Gaia is a super skrull, i think she should be a villain. But, then again, we know The Sentry is coming, so given the *embarrassing* state of the potential roster of the Avengers, I'd say they're gonna need a super skrull going forward 😅🫣
No she should be a hero
I love to know how they got Hulks blood because there wasnt anyone or anything on that battlefield that could pierce his skin 😂
All 6 Infinity stones were on that battlefield. Vibranium was on that battlefield. So, first off, the power to pierce his skin was definitely on the battlefield. 🤨
But ok, we don't SEE the stones cut his skin (though we do see them fry his arm and there could have been bleeding there) nor SEE Vibranium cut his skin.
But dude got punched a lot. If Hulk gets punched in the mouth, do his own teeth not cut his own skin? That's blood right there.
No need to over think it.
@StatusMusicDesign Man comes with 3 paragraphs and I'm the one over thinking it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
04:53 is such shade and I'm here for it.
Basically right now the only threat I see G'iah forming is that she knows all of Fury's secrets and about the Harvest. I suspect she might take the remaining Avengers off the board by telling them. And then Sonya being endlessly practical, tells Ross that G'aia is no threat, she just wants a home. But that she can turn the Avengers against Fury and have them listen to Ross instead, by telling th3 truth.
As a former video store manager, I salute you! You splice in the perfect peripheral clips to highlight your points and jabs.
Lmaoooooo Baby Arm!!
I completely agree 💯
I've honestly been feeling really down on the MCU lately but this i the sort of analysis i really missed. Makes me hopeful that cool stuff is, in fact, still coming.
I liked the video just for that opening
The weird part with those powers is they seem redundant. I mean drax is the same as obsidian so they coulda saved cgi and had it look better not using drax
Not only that, they didn't fo anything *Interesting* with them smh They had access to all those abilities and all they did was shapeshift their arms a bunch of times?! That's just *Lazy* 😤
Same you are right. There's no reason to get both The Abomination and The Hulk. They have almost same power. That being said, this is where I push back. Fury just collected the DNA of whoever he was available. He could not have known what he was going to get.
Fury said it was spilled blood so the captain marvel thing works because the "energy in her veins" would have been part of the dna sample found in the harvest.
The worst trope is having heroes fight evil versions of themselves, this is simply that. Rather than write a nuanced, interesting villain or a sympathetic one, or simply a truly sadistic sociopath, movie studios throw us villain of the week number 4 who are retconned into having some personal connection with the protagonist.
Omg that opening was the best!!!😅
I'm genuinely interested to know how Kevin Feige expected us to react to her powers. I mean surely even he would know it wasn't cool to hijack the powers of so many beloved characters.
Somebody hire this man!!
Nice video
It's definitely going to get interesting, that's for sure.
I’m surprised the Feige doesn’t just hire you and Doug to do the writing in the MCU. Your story telling is better than what they’ve been giving us.
I also theorize that it will be G'iah that will give Rogue her upgrade instead of Carol Danvers, when it's time for that incident to occur.
Great video as always ryan Kevin feige need to hired you asap your theory are fire love to see sentry introduce in the MCU 👍🏽.
love your Always Sunny references 😂
That cornflakes joke was good deep cut reference 😂
Wouldn't Gravik have a healing factor? We didn't see what happened to his body after the fact so maybe he healed up and went into hiding?
From who? Or what lol
Lol you doing they just left his body to the public thats even worse
@@Akinwalesegun yea right 👍 I forget if they ever showed what happened but could happen, just saying 😆
This would be an interesting direction.
I’m sorry but I can never see her as scary no matter how much development they do. Not after the drax arm ☠️
And how did the arm have Draxs tattoos 😂😂😂😂
He wasn't born with them and they aren't a part of his DNA
@@natsohigh5552 if what he said about the reshoots are true. They literally didn’t have the time to nit pick and actually do it right.
This Secret Invasion better be a prologue of a much wider and more threatening Secret Invasion with humans waging war against the Skrulls headed by Gi'ah.
Anakin caught me off guard got me good lol
The quote, Nick fury made in secret invasion, will have more meaning now going forward than just real day implications. “Since the beginning of time human beings cannot get along with themselves how do you think when we introduce the aliens to the mix?” I don’t remember the exact quote but you get the gist of it. That’s going to resonate all through phase 5, I hope. And just a moment of taking that outside of the MCU and applying it to our real lives that is an absolute correct quote about our societies today. We can even get along with ourselves, humanity, what happened to aliens happen to pull up on the earth in real life? It won’t unite us it will destroy us even more because we won’t even be able to agree on how to react to them.
This breakdown solidified that I've seen my last Marvel release.
It’s so hard to speak on this because I know how injuries can effect one’s mental. I’ve been there, kid still got to at least get drafted, still got to experience the NFL so some degree. I’m happy for him for that. Football is a double edge sword, it’s very rewarding from several aspects but in an instant just as fatal from several aspects…… Prayers for bro and all of these athletes who put their bodies on the line for pure entertainment.
What
Why are you taking about football?
My prediction. Either the effects aren't permanent and she loses her powers, or there's some timey wimey stuff and G'iah's powers get erased from the timeline.
But honestly I have no clue.
if Sentry appeared in mcu they will use him like Adam warlock
With the support of William & Mephisto:
2023
Endgame
WandaVision (about three weeks after)
2024
The Falcon & W (said 6 months after endgame)
Far from Home (spring/early summer)
Shang-Chi (said around April, because of the Quiming (day of the dead, joke with the grandma bringing her husband alc))
Eternals
No Way Home (Around November, MJ should remove decorations from Halloween)
Multiverse of Madness (seems fishy but November/December, either it’s some weeks or months after NWH)
Hawkeye (December)
2025
Moon Knight
Wakanda Forever
She-Hulk (again fishy, because it’s said to be some short time after Shang-Chi, because of Wong and Abo, prolly Gao’s fault)
Ms. Marvel
Love and Thunder
Werewolf by night (Giacchino said that he has an extra idea for the specials in the timeline, but it’s not official yet)
The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (December again)
2026
Quantumania
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
Secret Invasion
(All in 2026 maybe then be around February/March to June, no signs of Christmas/winter either)
(Loki & What If… excluded, we don’t know the time, this Loki went off the time around 2012)
So we got a reference for the year and month inside the mcu for now, I hope 😂
11:32 ok that gave me chills 🤩
12:24. No truer words have been spoken.
"20 bucks is 20 bucks" - that's how you sound 😆 🤣 😂
It’s so obvious these powers are going to be temporary. If she’ll be back (she won’t) it will be in a watered down version or just a regular skrull.
Rey Palpatine: I am all the Jedi
G’iah: Hold my beer, I am all the Avengers
I lost it at "baby arms" 😂
''President executed order 66 on skruls :D .
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I loved the commercial misdirection.
If Harrison Ford gets a mustache, he can look similar enough like William Hurt. One of my biggest pet peeves is finding actors with little to no resemblance.
I think if Secret Invasion would have presented the Harvest in a variety pack like a big box of 64 Crayola Crayons, they could have limited some of the powers but also used it to mix and match for future hero/ villains.
I wonder if Quake can disintegrate Sentry? She is the Destroyer of Worlds for a reason
I’d throw Adam Warlock in the mix. While he felt like a throw away character in GOTG3 which was sad…story wise there were enough going on and power wise he was hatched from the cocoon too early, maybe he will grow into his power even more. In the comics, he can be more powerful than Captain Marvel so maybe he can still play a part of fighting G’iah if it comes to it.
It was like the writer or director had a crush on Emilia Clark and was like if you go out with me I will give your character every power in the MCU.
Im just about to watch this now, but seeing the thumbnail first thought was meh ffs. But the more i think on it, we could end up with a really engaging villain. Like a mix between killmonger and Zemo(from C.W only).
Groundwork been done for her character, relatable history and cause, spy, freedom fighter, has connections around the world, now a leader and symbol aswell as a 'supe' and an overpowered risk.
Could see her being pushed to action, but done far better than in Falc and W.S with their young villain. But only if used in a film, tv would probably rob her of the overall impact due to varying plotlines.
Hmm im really starting to like that idea.
Now to watch the video and to see how many other things i missed that point to this potential.
At this point, I suggest that Marvel just hires ScreenCrush to write the shows and movies.
No wonder Kang is expected to win in The Kang Dynasty, with all this disgruntled conflict on Earth defeating the Avengers will be a breeze.
Deadpool vs "Hawkeye"(Bullseye) was the best thing from Dark Reign!
It seemed like when the show started they were going to go with the traditional Super Skrull powers with Groot instead of Mr Fantastic, Cull Obsidian instead of the Thing and the Extremis powers instead of the Human Torch. In that vein, if they had kept the new powers to just include Ghost, that could have been the Invisible Woman's powers and completed the Super Skrull's four powers. She would still be overpowered, but wouldn't have been the power-salad.
*She's like a "Jill of all trades, master of none."*
... could still do a shitload of damage against any street level MCU heroes.
Thumbs up just for the ad scene 😂
G'iah and kit harrington's character perfectly fit for midnight sons though!
The "what about me" definitely TBBT. 😅
10:11. **GET OFF MY PLANE!!**
Only one marvel character could take on evil Giah - Someone... Unbeatable
I got the impression the super skrull machine only worked on skrulls and may be dangerous to humans (radiation?). Otherwise I don't think Gravik would have activated the harvest with Fury inside the machine with him
If Steven Yuen is going to be the sentry I feel like he has to bulk up like crazy
Natalie portperson set a weak standard all others will follow by having cgi arms and doing zero superhero fitness prep. Then drax, nebula, and wolverine all wore shirts and sleeves. Now no superhero has to work out so hard.
My guess is they’ll completely abandon the Fury harvesting subplot or some major plot point will occur off-screen then someone will explain it all via exposition. That is, if the 10 irrelevant cameos being used to setup up spinoffs and sell merch leaves any runtime afterward..
Nice Reds hat!
Ryan now just shows how much better the MCU could be right now
My big hope is that Marvel isn't just introducing villains and villainous teams to just last second "resolve" those arcs in Secret Wars. Like, I hope Secret Wars isn't just New Avengers/Young Avengers vs. Kang/Government/Hercules/Skrulls/Talo Khan, etc...
I actually enjoyed every minute of secret invasion besides the ending. Which shouldve been the best part but nooo i get to see Shooter McGavin get freed from a machine 🙄
The begin killed me 🤣🤣🤣👍👍
I honestly thought it was a Magic Spoon ad lol
