The biggest announcement from comic-con is that we're Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars! Both in 2025.
These 2 Avengers movies will be the culmination of the multiverse saga.
This is Kang’s multiverse, we just live in it.
So now we finally know the direction the MCU is heading. Well at least officially, all of us sort of figured that it all leads to Secret Wars. But I guess having that confirmation just gives us this nice feeling that everything is going to be alright.
Ok so The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars are the new Infinity War and Endgame. And Kang is the big bad of the saga.
But here’s the thing, the Kang Dynasty - as the name suggests - is a huge Kang story. But it’s not really about the multiverse.
Secret Wars is all about incursions and the multiverse, and we all assumed for a while now that it will be the climax of phase 6.
But Kang didn’t actually have a major role in Secret Wars.
So you have to wonder how Dynasty leads into Secret Wars, and how much of the stories Marvel will change.
We need to put on our Kavin Faige hat, and do some heavy theorizing to figure it all out. So let’s get nuts, shall we?
Alright, before we get into all the theories - and we have A Lot of ideas - let’s first go over both stories from the comics.
Since the MCU’s versions of Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars are going to be drastically different from the source material.
The Kang Dynasty is a crossover event from 2001.
Kang the Conqueror comes from the 30th century to conquer the world. This is one of Kang’s biggest stories, because he won.
Kang doesn’t just want to rule because he’s evil, it’s because he’s trying to save Earth. He saw where every timeline leads, and they all lead to a dark future. This part will totally be adapted into the MCU, but with the multiverse twist.
Kang joined forces with his son, the Scarlet Centurion, and they conquered the world. That’s the dynasty part of the story.
Kang killed millions of people to prove that he’s not messing around.
He held a gun to the whole world, unless they all surrender, he will kill even more people.
The Avengers were forced to surrender and let Kang win.
Obviously, in the end the Avengers beat Kang and saved the world.
Still Kang won, and something similar will surely happen in Avengers the Kang Dynasty.
But there is nothing about the multiverse in this story. Since Avengers 5 is the first half in the culmination of the multiverse saga, that means the MCU’s Kang Dynasty is going to be very different.
Secret Wars on the other hand is all about the multiverse.
Well, the 2015 version of the story.
It’s a little complicated, so let’s quickly explain the difference.
The are two versions of Secret Wars in the comics.
The first Secret Wars happened in 1984. A group of heroes and villains from Earth were teleported to battleworld. This world was created by the Beyonder. A being who was fascinated by the potential of superheroes on Earth. So he created his own cosmic Squid Game.
Secret Wars is one of the most beloved events in Marvel comics, and that’s the story the Russon brothers keep saying that they want to direct. But it doesn’t seem like we are getting this version of Secret Wars.
In 2015, Marvel did another Secret Wars story, but this time it was about the multiverse.
Incursions were the big threat to the multiverse, they caused universes to collide and reality to collapse.
Right before everything ended, Doctor Doom took the power of the Beyonders. They are these god-like beings who are responsible for the incursions.
With this godly power, Doom created Battleworld, a patchwork world composed of the remnants of different universes.
Doom made himself god, ruling Battleworld as God emperor Doom.
In the end heroes from different universes came together against Doom, and they restarted the multiverse.
Since Avengers Secret Wars will conclude the multiverse saga, it’s a no-brainer that the movie will draw its inspiration from 2015 Secret Wars.
But I’m sure you noticed, Kang doesn’t actually play a big role in Secret Wars.

Loki describes Kang as terrifying and he hasn't even seen all the Kang's yet alone Prime Kang, The guy even said to Ant man "you're an Avenger have I kill you before"

The thing I'm most excited for from Secret Wars is the potential for a Chris Evans Captain America and Human Torch interacting in the same movie. A man can dream!

Kevin feige is a freaking genius. MCU has been built so, beautifully. If they focus more on the broader story of multiverse saga, it will be the best and ambitious project ever! So so excited. Hope they don't ruin it by making pointless stories. They should only focus on the multiverse!
Knowing Feige (not that I actually know him, but) stories may seem pointless at first but ultimately end up being important to the overarching plot.

If doom doesn’t manipulate and betray kang then he’s not my doom. Doom is meant to be a man that defies all odds just because he wants to. He’s tied with reed as being the smartest man in the universe even smarter than kang. If doom doesn’t have his own plans then I’ll be so mad. I’ve been wanting doom to be in the mcu and be a total menace just like he is in the comics. Secret wars is one of my fav comics simply because Doom is the villain and he’s so well written

Doom will likely be the big villain for the next saga. I think marvel wants to focus on kang first and wait for doom.

Hey Ryan, I got excited when you said there can be a possibility to see different Spider-Man, Capt. America, Thor, and other variants teaming up and/or fighting against each other! That could really top off Endgame Portals scene indeed if executed well! can't wait for Secret Wars.
I think you're right on the money for Kang Dynasty/Secret Wars.
I want the third saga to be hella mutant-centric, though. Things could start off amicably enough between the X-Men and the other heroes, but they need to come to blows a la Avengers vs. X-Men. Perhaps the Avengers 7 cliffhanger can be Scarlet Witch finally doing the "no more mutants" line to stop a mutant empowered with the phoenix force and Avengers 8 can resolve with the mutants founding Krakoa.
In between all that, there needs to be at least one movie or show dealing with the mutants experiencing systemic oppression. A more comic-accurate Reverend Stryker perhaps whipping up a moral panic and all the young mutants being abducted and re-educated, (think more C.R.A.D.L.E. from the comics than that dumpster fire New Mutants movie) so that the elder X-Men will have a catalyst to fight against humanity. Looking for moral ambiguity. Let's Avengers stans and X-Men stans duel it out online the whole time these shows and movies are coming out. It'll be a blast.
same, and I hope with that we get a lot more self contained, down and earth stories that can really focus on developing the xmen.
There's a rumor that eventually getting to an Avengers Vs. X-Men movie is a priority over at Marvel/Disney.

There was a big thing for the Mutants vs Nonmutants. Now granted, a lot of people love the X-Men. But we are in the avengers world, causing us to side with the avengers. It’d be pretty cool to see.

I think Thor and Dr. Strange will reach out to Antman after his outcome with Kang. Doctor Strange will explain that Kang The Conquer is one of the entities on his watchlist and describe how dangerous he is. Scott will acknowledge this by mentioning how lucky he was that Kang decided not to use lethal force during their encounter. Phases 5 and 6 will involve the heroes finding cosmic-level items such as The Heart of Universe to stop the incursions and Kang himself. I also think Shang Chi during the two phases will gain full mastery of The Ten Rings as his father intended him to. Essentially, the heroes will be combating an adversary even more dangerous than Thanos but can share collective information and strategies on how to defeat Kang.
Good points. I agree. I also think Spider-Man will have a fairly big part with Dr. Strange/Thor/Antman conversations. I could see Dr. Strange remembering Peter Parker somehow. I can’t wait for these new films!

Ed Norton's Hulk, all spiderman(gwen and miles included), Xmen.
Given the vast scope of the past two sagas (the universe and multiverse) I think the third will be much more “down-to-earth” with a much more emotional/internal struggle. And the perfect villain for something like that is Magneto. Between the blip and whatever comes of the multiverse conflict, animosity will grow between average humans and those with powers (perhaps more so towards mutants) laying the groundwork for Magneto’s manipulation.
Yeah, they have to do something with that at the ground level.
But, where Disney/Marvel have reportedly filed copyrights for multiple titles, 3 titles are interesting. One is a Celestials movie and the other 2 are saga titles, the Eternity Saga and the Timeless Saga besides another rumored title for a solo movie called Shang-Chi And The Wreckage Of Time.
Sounds like they're going pretty cosmic heavy.
I just hope they keep the X-Men title.

I like mutants, but you have to understand something. They're way too op. They're just going to slowly introduce one who's a little more powerful than the next. First it was Thor, then doctor strange, then scarlet witch tops him, so on and so on. It has to be lower level mutants, then so on and so on.
Plus, I always thought the human/mutant thing was stupid. What human would ever treat a mutant like that I real life. And the smarter humans that make technology to combat mutants... why not become allies with the professor and just stand together against the villains like magneto. I really don't want to sit through this entire story all over again
@@dribblez609 There are levels to mutancy. That's why they say some are referred to as "omega level.". A character like Cypher, who has the power to learn languages at an advanced rate, is not omega level.
If you wanna talk about op, look up Reed Richards' son Franklin. A being so powerful he can create pocket dimensions. He even has the respect of Celestials.
Plus, discrimination is the whole point of X-Men. It's a giant parable about it in all of it's forms, whether it be simple, general prejudice or extreme enough it leads to genocide. Apocalypse is like mutant Hitler and Mr. Sinister is like a mutant Joseph Mengele.
I've got a relative that thinks if someone has that much power, and there was a way to expel it from that person or "cure" them of it he thinks they should be forced to take it or be killed. He doesn't think anyone should have that much god-like power.
Secret Wars needs to be 3 movies. I want all the cameos.

Wouldn’t it make sense for the Kang Dynasty for Kangs to have control of all timelines as the Avengers travel to them an attempt to try to topple him? You said the comics aren’t multiverse centric, but the MCU likes to make their own version of these stories.

Would be crazy if secret wars ended with a compete reset for the marvel film universe in general , those of battleworld save the existence for life in general, giving a “fresh new start “ especially for MCU dynasty
I absolutely think that Doom will still create battleworld. I don't know exactly how it will get there, but I think that the last incursion may be stopped by Kang somehow and while it seems like he has won, Doom will come and force it to happen. Perhaps have him mortally wounded or super weakened and we end up with Iron Lad in the new world finding him and Kang, with no other options, gives the last of his power in a way IL can use to help restart the multiverse.
Definitely Dr. Doom needs to be the ultimate Big Bad of Secret Wars. It's a much better story if the Big Bad of the saga (Kang) ends up having a redemption story in SW. Also plays nicely into the cyclical nature idea of the sacred timeline--the idea that, for the most part the sacred timeline exists, but every now and then it spins off into a multiverse and everything has to be put back together again (or else all of existence will be extinguished).
@@slvrbach Agreed. It would be a fantastic (no pun intended, but much appreciated) twist as we are all being led to believe it's just gonna be Kang. It also works on a meta sense if it's redemption via Iron Lad. Iron Man started everything in the MCU and Iron Lad could help restart it.
The Multiverse Saga will conclude with the sacred timeline being restored with Loki the new He Who Remains thus fulfilling his “Glorious Purpose” Sylvie will likely die creating an internal struggle to protect all of life leaving only one timeline and restoring the Multiverse in an attempt to bring her back

Honestly I’m super hyped for what comes next in the MCU just because of all the fun interactions we’ll get to see. Once the multiverse becomes one combined universe with all the variants together, things could get very interesting very quickly
Maybe once they kill the last Kang it causes an incursion, which forces all of the different universes that banded together to defeat Kang's Dynasty against one another... Building a battle world and Doom saw this all coming and seized control as its ruler!

Anybody remember the global threat assessment map in the background when Iron Man was interviewing with Nick Fury? It was at the end of Iron Man 2. It had markers for locations of heros all over the world. I just kind of think it would be cool for someone to make a video about how that map foresaw the future of the mcu. If you go back and look at that map, you'll see Namor is on it and so is Dr Doom. I recently revisited this scene and it was a really cool.
The new upcoming projects sound so amazing, I still even can’t get my head around No Way Home, I'm so obsessed I used like a week on making an edit about it lmao, Honestly might do more about that sort of stuff if these new projects are anything like No Way Home! 😃
Do you think galactus plays into this at all? I can see kang being limitted bc after all he's just a mortal man, whereas a much higher power could be an ultimate force (assuming they deviate from the comics like MCU tends to do). And that last scene (post credit - not the last hand slapping dude but the i guess first post credit scene in DR Strange MOM, Do you think that where they are going to talk to/fight/beg Dormonu? I would imagine he has a prenence in all of this but just guess. I could see him being good/or forced to be in line with not destorying planets - Him and Galactus I assume have no varients (As they are way higher power - forget the term, im just learning everything over the past few years and honestly asking you as you sound like you have much more knowledge about this. ) It just seems like the Kang Dynasty would essencially mean that a version of kang rules each universe and is therefore the universal power, and he would be defeated - totally defeated - and the single battle world would be his star trek II Wrath of Khan (sort of death rattle) moment - creating a scenario where he kills himself (the one variant that betrays him and sides with avengers - i guess killing eachother) .
I really need to actually read secret wars, but i imagine that there will be significant changes to it for the mcu. I lack a firm foundation of knowledge on this but am interested in your feedback if you get the time (or anyone elses who reads this). So much to take in the second they introduced the multiverse - anything i guess is possible. im not even going to check my spelling, hopefully its intelligable
No Way Home is better every single time watch it. There’s so many little nuggets. I can’t wait to see more Holland (Spider-Man) movies. Spider-Man and Dr. Strange on film together are incredible. We need a lot more of them.

I think the next saga will be about either Apocalypse or Galactus. Those are the only villains I can think of that make sense to bring everyone together if they don’t use Doctor Doom in this saga.

but i do hope that the kang dynasty heavily focuses the story telling on Kang. I wanna know his perspective, how he came to the idea etc. rather than he just does like thanos, and explains it to dr. strange before trying to kill them all and take the stone

(9:51) Im so excited yet scared that mcu wont stick the landing on this though... Especially after looking at the potential avengers lineup. I'm sure Wakanda will produce a or some some great Avengers to add to that lineup, so thats looking on the bright side, but I am worried about the inclusion of Ms Marvel in this current saga and in the next two avengers movies. Its possible Namor and other yet to be realized villians are actually avengers by the time we get to the 6th film. Hulk, she hulk, possibly a miles morales who is 616 and could be a sort of apprentice of spidermans (as spiderman kind of takes on the role that Tony Stark played in relation to Parker's rising to the role and becoming an avenger. Plus hawkeye, Valkarie, Antman's daughter, oh and ghost (whatever happened with her? Her storyline so far would make her a fit for this saga for sure). I don't believe Ms Marvel would be a big part or a part of the offcial team when you consider that there are a number of younger future avengers that have been hinted at or shown, who may play a small role in a young avengers capacity (but on battleworld? - and i guess this would inlude miles when i think about it). Hawkeye's protige would probably be an exception to that team as she is a little older and would likely be working side by side with hawkeye. Ironheart I feel would be at the kiddies table for this movie as well - but the kiddies table would be serving some ultimately important purpose- perhaps defending against a way of the big bad person's regeneration works, or a portal, or a gem, whatever the task is that would for balance be as important as fighting the main battle or heist (or whatever we get). I am familiar with Secret wars but i know the extent that MCU can deviate from the comics which of course makes it interesting when done well. I think the people at (9:51) will not even make up 1/8th of the ultimate team, and i believe the younger characters wont get much screen time in this Saga - aside from self contained stories. Their importance is probably much bigger as we get to the 3rd MCU Saga, 2026 to who knows 2029, 30.. We don't need to see a Fanstastic 4 movie to have them on battle world either - I am sure characters associated with them, like the silver surfer, will play a big role in these two (or maybe just the last) as will the Fantastic 4. I believe Prowler could be a bad guy turned avenger, as im sure in Spiderman 4 we see spiderman breaking form and it will be the encouragement from miles morales or prowler that keeps him in line (and thus starts the apprenticeship) - with prowler being bad in the first of the next trilogy. With the multivere in full swing its very possible we could see the three spidermans from past sony movies once again fighting together, with the older Parker breaking form bc his wife (i assume) is gone until they reverse whatever has happened - this will not be the case for most mcu characters with the exception of dr strange, perhaps loki (having the loki's from episode 5 of loki make an appearance and actually fight along side him on battleworld ( the kid, and the alagator probably, possibly another from the loki vs loki vs lokis etc scene that they reveil didnt die. The three spidermen have leaped between universes (as did scarlet witch who i am sure isnt dead and will serve an important role in the 5th and def secret wars (it did begin with her, this saga that is), and I see her being an important component in the initial phases of Saga 3 (mutants). We will also see Thor All Wise (an older version of thor - i predict i guess) beause I believe ( i like to use that word i guess, sorry im just thinking via typing - but have put time into my wild guesses..) I hope/think/ believe that The director of the last two thor movies (i dont want to butcher his name) will return to close to ragnarok form with a final trilogy installment of his run prior to these two avengers movies and we will see a prominant thor in battle world. I am going on and on and im clearly excited for 2025 and im sure this wont be the last time i rant about predictions. As for Kang, Is it possible that he flat out dies in the 5th avengers and DR doom is in fact the main villian until maybe halfway though the movie and the ultimate bad guy is a much higher power -like galactis or even more powerful? Some part of me believes that Kang is the vessal to Battleworld and a singular planet of all universes, yet will serve his purpose by the time secret wars comes out. And it is possilbe, i suppose , that we get 3 avenger moves in this saga - Secret Wars being broken into two bc of content and volume of characters - very expensive but depending on the momentum mcu can establish, it could be a reality. A lot of story there, and a lot of setting up post saga 2 while they close the multiverse saga out. If anyone read this, thanks for your time.
I have a feeling that Doom might be too big a character for them to bring into the multiverse saga. Perhaps this saga will intro him as the main antagonist for the next saga?

Loki has shown exactly what will happen in Kang Dynasty & Secret Wars. The multiversal war between the Kangs will cause the incursions resulting in the creation of the Void aka Battleworld by He who remains as victor of the Kang war. We saw all the remaining evidence from Secret Wars in the Void with for example the Thor frog buried deep in the ground.
Secret Wars will end with the creation of the sacred timeline and He Who remains as single remaining Kang until he get killed by Sylvie at the end of the timeline.

If doom actually is in black panther than I have a feeling Kang will be like the Beyonders and Doom at the end of Kang Dynasty will somehow take Kangs powers and create Battle worlds and then secret wars will happen

I feel like for Secret Wars they could do something along the lines of Doom vs Kang whether it’s team Doom vs Kang or something along those lines I feel those 2 will be the main pushing force with Doom being presented as the more good side of the two but eventually becomes the god ruler doom he becomes in the secret wars comics
Not a bad theory , they definitely building up kang, then leading straight to secret wars.
In the Third Saga, I can see the universe beings like the Grand Tribunal, Infinity, Destiny, The One Above All, testing Earth with threats like the Annihilation Wave, Galactus, and other situations like that, for being the root cause of all the issues happening in the Universe (Infinity Saga, Multiverse Drama, reality bending and universe destroying)... And if they succeed, they can stay, but if not, issue resolved and those pesky Terrans stop causing problems for the universe.

I just want a Battleworld show on Disney Plus in between KD and SW. Those tie-in comics were one of the best parts of the crossover in 2015 as they fleshed out Battleworld and all of its realms. And besides, how cool would be to have an episode about the Thor Police.

Teaming up with countless characters can't work more than on cameofest level. Why do we love Endgame battle? Beucase we saw how dusted heroes came back to fight next to Captain America. This was EMOTIONAL. Old characters coming back will be just cool and fun moment without any depth.
Word, I'm totally down with either film being a total cameo-fest for the sake of. At this point, Marvel Studios has earned it (given that they're able to bring over all the Sony & Fox properties under the MS/MCU banner w/out screwing it up) and the fans & general audience will feel that it's been earned, too.
I think it could be a good way of bringing in younger actors to play versions of their current counterparts effectively soft rebooting characters such as Iron Man, Captain America and Thor etc.

As long as Hugh Jackman is Wolverine in the MCU X-Men movie, I’m fine with it.
I can see him returning one more time for Secret Wars, the rebooted universe that will likely follow (if it follows the same pattern of the comics) will likely recast many parts though, but Secret Wars could be our chance to finally see RDJ's Iron Man and Jackman's Wolverine together.
Have always loved secret wars and the idea of incursions in the multiverse but have always hated that its just depicted as 2 versions of earth specifically colliding. Like its meant to be whole universes like shouldnt it be all planets and stars and stuff crashing into their variants. But then again they’re most likely in different positions geographically so dk how ud actually visually show that. Dont see how blowing up one planet before the incursion is complete stops the whole universe clashing u feel?
Word. It's like visual shorthand for what's happenning, and while 2 Earths colliding is a memorable image, it doesn't do a good job of depicting what's actually going on. How i think about it to make it make sense: He Who Remains doesn't see all the timelines like we do, like we see the Sacred Timeline in Loki - instead, HWR sees things as if it was 2d like a disk. That reminded me of a Carl Sagan video about dimensions, 1d, 2d, 3d, 4d and how we wouldn't know what to make of a 4d object in our 3d world. What would 2 universes colliding look like, if what causes the 3d vs 3d collison comes from the 4th dimension? Hashtag fourth wall break

If the multi verse does destroy at the end of Kang Dynasty, imagine if the credits doesn’t have any music. In addition, not end credit scene. Just to set the mood that all life is now gone. It would further put the audience in an shocked stage. Way more than how Infinity War left everyone.
Marvel is not going to blow its load and introduce Doom in Phase 5 or Phase 6. This is a business. They will save him to be the next big bad in the next saga. They may hint at him but he will be a background character at best.

I disagree about Doctor Doom being the best villain. I believe the best villain in the Marvel Universe potentially could be a sleeper. Shout out to Eric Voss.... Mephistopheles...We need Mephisto... If I worked for Marvel I'll produce great content the fans would adore. Doom has the potential to become a good guy like Magneto at times. A villain has to remain a villian and not assist heros. Mephisto is being saved and Galactus isn't really a villian.
