So... based on some of the powers they are using... are we to assume that someone got DNA from the Guardians of the Galaxy as well? Like... what? Did they comb over the rubble of the Avengers complex and gather up DNA from everyone present at the final End Game battle? Enough to actually clone them and/or replicate their superhuman abilities? As if the Avengers would've allowed that to happen? SMH.
Also, DNA samples don't guarantee perfect or even near perfect recreations of the original subject's abilities. Not to mention that living organisms still need regeneration cycles. We need to consume food and medicine more than a single time for them to be effective.
I'm wondering how they even got DNA from out of all characters, GHOST, since Ghost wasn't even present during the final battle during Endgame, unless I missed a scene with a character that has Ghost's powers.
I love how only modern day Hollywood can make a spy thriller with shapeshifters so mind numbing boring and more predictable than my next sentence... Marvel you suck. What you were expecting my sentence to be something funny, meaningful or maybe something that would break your puny mind? This whole Secret Invasion thing feels like Marvel realized they shouldn't have made the Skrulls the good guys in Captain Marvel, and wanted to show the Skrulls as a threat like they were in the comics and cartoons but...had to come up with a way to justify evil Skrulls and so we got Fury couldn't keep his promise to them and help a species capable of space travel in finding a new planet! Anyway, thanks for watching this show so we don't have to.
It would've been more interesting if Skrulls had existed on the planet before and had been stopped or something. Idk making them the gorgons or s'ilat or where shape-shifting dragons come from. So some Skrulls feel justified to take Earth back cause at one point it was a Skrull planet until humans got too smart for their britches. Could lead to an interesting revelation that aliens and such have visited earth in the distant past (Which is canon given Thor and shit) and contemporary governments cover it up cause they didn't want people freaking out. Or desperate skrulls trying to take back their old world they abandoned after the first ass whooping. Everyone loves ancient aliens, just make them the Annunanki or some shit.
@@tonym.8069 That would have been a cool idea. Is it me or does a secret invasion story could have worked as a movie? It could have something like Avengers: Secret Invasion and it could have been cool. Could have raised the stake higher and do more with the Skrill stuff.
@@josh5247 Honestly it could have been set up through phase 4 into phase 5 in the movies, this threat growing in the background while the Avengers got themselves back together after the events of Endgame.
I think they could have saved the series by introducing Life Model Decoy to counter impersonate the skrulls and shows that Fury is always 10 steps ahead
I don't think the current writer's know a thing about LMD's and the depth of shield technology that could've and should've been showcased. This should've been Marvel's Mission Impossible. They started with agenda, not love.
Someone said "If everyone is super, no-one is." Happening right here. I completely left the MCU. Not worth my time anymore. But I love watching your breakdowns. They are more amusing than the current MCU garbage.
What like about One Piece is that it avoids this problem by limiting how super you can be in some ways and not in others. Shanks, unless we get some crazy revelation, is a sword saint who worked really hard to become an admiral among pirates. Same more or less with Mihawk. They have and might never consume devil fruits, just like Gol D. Roger never did as he became pirate king. In limiting the supers while letting the normies be a bit super, it doesn't feel like these crazy, illogical power gaps. It also helps its all a shared universe from the get go, not one cobbled together that worked marvelously until you pulled out the tent-poles of it and try to replace not with still-refined metal but rotted wood. Plus I'm still annoyed they shoved Captain Marvel into it so late in the game instead of doing a Black Widow movie to be a proper send off for that character. And how they handled Thor, seriously they couldn't leave him being reincarnated as a parapalegic doctor becausssssse? Anyways Secret Invasion is another warning shot the MCU is dead, whatever this is are the left over scraps cause they couldn't just wait a year or two, or write it so (or even write it in Spider-man) where it better sets up for the Mutants and such. All they had to do is where Dr. Strange can fix the multiverse collapsing onto their own but not everything will be the same, things will be different. Dr. Strange 2 could've leaned more into that, but instead of something like that they kinda handled it so weirdly.
@@tonym.8069 That may be another problem with the MCU - nothing is built up anymore, nothing is earnt. I really loved the beginning of the MCU, the first team of Avengers was introduced (mostly) with their own movie. Now everything is "just there, take it or leave it". I am tired of the flashy costumes, and that every male character is replaced by a female. That gets boring soon. I am female, and I like a big, strong superhero. But with the MCU, everything just seems to go to dust in short time. Just like our real world. You cannot escape it in the MCU, and that is why I left it. See thumbnail: Yeah, I just can’t fathom to how stupid Emilia Clarke looked in the finale. I swear, watching the scene where her bicep grows, gave off MuscleBob BuffPants vibes. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if behind the scenes, she tried showing the fake muscles off to people, but when she has to genuinely pick up something, she struggles, just like SpongeBob. Therefore, she decided to blow them to be bigger to try and help. But that causes them to blow up, therefore the studio resorted the CGI-ing the whole thing instead.
While I didn't think this series was *terrible*, I'd have looked a lot more kindly on it if they hadn't so unceremoniously killed off Maria Hill (a character I really liked) in the first episode. At very least, the finale should have shown Fury visiting her grave to give some closure. That and also the President going psycho at the end was just like... uh, wtf man? Also, am I the only one who thinks that the reason why Cobie Smulders is credited in multiple episodes despite really only appearing in one, is because after she read the script and saw how her character was going to be killed off, she demanded that they pay her extra?
Daenerys is like Capt. Marvel now; she has so much undefined power that she can basically do anything. They remind me of playing with my dickhead brother when we were tiny. If I was winning a game, he would suddenly invent some rule I'd never heard of. To make himself win. I'm sorry but there is zero tension or suspense in watching someone whose only concern is which law of physics they want to break next. Give me a character who can only do SO much and has to work with what she's got.
@@imsentinelprime9279 True, but Marvel already has that character. And Superman has several distinct weaknesses that allow less powerful enemies to level the playing field against him. This is the equivalent of DC introducing a new character who has the powers of Superman, but also Wonder Woman, the Flash, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, AND Darkseid. Even if you can use Kryptonite, they are still going to be overpowered to an unprecedented degree. The whole thing reeks of the showrunners attempting to one-up the rest of the MCU with their own OC. Except that now whenever trouble is happening everyone will be wondering just "where was G'iah", just like we were with the Eternals.

That first clip... i had to pause the video and just put my head in my hand and just sigh.. i have no words. Do writers have ANYTHING ELSE in their tiny little pea brains besides hating men????
Dogs can lie. I had a poodle who once on a walk suddenly started to jump on 3 legs, but after I didn't buy her act she continued to walk normally (she was a lap dog, and wanted me to carry her). She also once fooled my other 2 dogs by barking towards the front door in a way she would if someone was there, causing the other two to leave the living room, and she then stole their treats.
If I remember correctly in the comics there was one super skrull and he had the powers of the Fantastic Four. In the FF comics there were also female skrulls that were actually really attractive, nothing like the lizard lady Fury is smooching with.
The thing that really got me about her getting all the powers in the end is that she didn‘t just got Draxx‘s powers but also his tattoos… who writes shit like that?
If only they'd followed the comics, revealing that all the awful superheroes from the last few years were just Skrulls, then we could have reset the whole Phase. No more She Hulk, no more Marvels, Wanda can be an actual hero for once, Skrulls everywhere!
I love how it’s never discussed where/what Fury has been doing in space on the SWORD base. They act like he’s been living in a dumpster after the blip.
In my opinion the story line was ‘fair to middling.’ The CGI for the Skrulls however, was terrible. Why would you CGI just one arm and not the full body, other than for low budget reasoning? It looked bad and made the story weaker than it actually was. The visual spectacle of the MCU characters is a major aspect of these films that should not be minimized or ignored.
"...dare I say..." Me: Shenanigans. "...shenanigans." Me: Ayyyy. The second this was announced and we knew it was supposed to be a spy thriller, anyone paying even passing attention to Marvel knew they didn't have the writing talent on staff to make anything remotely as deep and involved as what some people wanted/hoped for. I hoped it would be good as I'm ready for the tide of trash to change but i knew it would be more boring shallow nothingness that ends in CGI nothingness, having contributed nothing positive to the lore of the universe or characters. Some other parallel dimension got an MCU and DCU that did the comic stories justice, gave them space to grow and fester where appropriate, and revolutionized comic cinema. Meanwhile, our dimension got a good start with Iron Man then a little stumble to The Avengers and Endgame, and then drove right off the quality cliff.
AI generated art makes me sick....so greedy they cant pay a artist to come up with something as if artist aren't struggling enough 😡 but the film budget for this series was $212 million
To be fair, as awful as it is, Olivia Coleman was given a script, saw it for what it was and ran with it. She obviously didn't care but delivered her lines professionally which she always does. None of it made sense but she did what she was paid to do.
I agree with everything you've said, it's a lazy, goofy mess. I think the one thing that makes sense is the super power absorption. Skrulls are naturally adaptive and it's pulled from the comics source material.
That drax arm is so hilarious because to someone who didn’t watch the show, you could assume it was bad photoshop or maybe even some weird ass AI drawing. But no lol. No
I just finished the series. Earlier I was thinking I would come on here to defend the show as not great but not terrible. But the last two episodes really turned an okay but overall disappointing series into a terrible one. The first disappointment was that it could have been a spy thriller but it really was not. Everything was shown or very predictable. Well except the really bad was not that predictable. But they could have made a series in which the viewer was on the edge of her seat. Is he or she a Skrull or not? what is really going on? But they did not. The bad guys were the bad guys. They doubled down on the Captain Marvel and girl power. I have no problem and actually want women to lay large role in the MCU. But the MCU is ridiculous. The last two episodes here really doubled down on the women are the best motif. IT was not just he Avengers but CAROL DANVERS and the avengers. The speech that Nick Fury is nothing without his mother and wife. And I could go on. It is not completely one statement or even action. It is the cumulative effect. After awhile it is just nauseating. Also why did the main bad guy leave who he thought was Nick Fury in the transformation thing? I know he though he was human but that seemed pretty stupid for a guy who had made supposedly great moves before. And then the guy was so easily killed off. They both had the powers but he was so bad at them. No huge fight. Just meh. Finally the Super Skrull in the comics has the powers of the FAntastic 4. I know they are not in the MCU yet. But why give the Super Skrull every super hero's power? Why not some or some kind of build up? No it was all now. Just stupid.
honestly when i first saw the picture of emilya with that monstrosity arm i thought it was edited but now i just lost all hope regarding the future of the MCU for me the MCU ended with endgame and no one will ever convince me of the opposite
I think the most TERRIBLE scene ever that doesn't make sense is when Talo got held up hostage by another Skrull infiltrator in human shape...and then Fury uses his human child to negotiate with the Scrull for Talos' life?? WHAT THE FK?? doesn't make sense...why would that Skrull, who took the human shape, care for a human child that is not even his?? writers????

You know I really love that there's horrible films out there. Because it keeps me motivated in pursuing my dream in becoming a scriptwriter. I'm sure mine can't be as terrible as theirs.
That photo of.. whoever Emilia Clark is playing, is frankly absurdly cringe-worthy. Really really awful. I agree, after this, not only should all these writers just stay on strike, they should really all be fired. It was really disappointing hearing how the ruined Nick Fury’s character, though I am not surprised anymore. Still, it makes no sense. I was surprised mostly because, not even being racist at all, but I thought black people were the “special” people as they are considered a minority to Hollywood and gains them ESG points. So, why ruin not one, that would be bad enough, but TWO important characters (Fury and Rodey), and for no reason. It makes no sense… What a heap of dog-crap overall…
Honestly, I was on board with the super skrull thing, and Nick Fury finally having powers to put him on par with the superheroes. So seeing Emilia’s character get it instead really pissed me off. Plus, if I remember correctly, they did not change her character’s face that much during the entire fight (I’m pretty sure it even remained her ‘pretty’ human face), but bad skrull guy? He looks like Abomination (and I don’t think that wasn’t intentional). That fight would’ve definitely looked different if it remained Fury getting the powers. Both guys, both would’ve looked ‘ugly’. But Emilia, no, they have to make a woman be badass and look pretty as well. What I’m saying is, I want to see both men and women characters equal with one another, so I want to see both genders look ‘ugly’ on screen as well.
13:26 The Super Skrull is a character from a the comics. He has the powers of all the Fantastic Four. I forget how he got them and don't know why there is only one of him.
They should have implemented a real world illuminati conspiracy type vibe to this story. Showing how Skrulls have implemented themselves in numerous massive parts of human history over the decades, and slowly moved agendas in their favour.
I would say that they should have made colonel Ross (Rhodey) act more like himself so that Nick wouldn't know if he was a scroll or not. So in the end they would have a hard time shooting him cause they don't really know. So at the end some one cuts him to see if he bleeds green. But the only reason why they didn't do it sooner is because Ross had a gun on the women's head. So they cant cut him or shoot him cause he has a gun to the womens head so if a shot gose off he would automatically shoot cause of the reflection of adrenaline would pump throu him making it so he reaction to the gunshot triggers his finger to shoot. & Then going to the scrolls fighting. they should have had it where Gravik was more experienced in fighting where every time she tried to kill him he would use a power that was countering the ones she used on him. Then in the middle of the fight she ends up getting hit really hard & she uses that to fly away from him as far as she can until he isn't able to see her any more. & as she is hidden she splits her body into 2 parts where one of her bodies flies back into the fight moving them away from her 2nd body. & Her 2nd body ends up splitting up into 5 different bodies. As the 1st body ends up getting killed as that was G' iah's plan to catch Gravik off guard. Then 3 out of 5 of her bodies turns into a Thanos or halk like being. Then they end up holding Gravik down turning themselves into a bomb while her 4th body comes out & shape shift into a being that has 4 or 6 arms & blast all of them away with all projectal type powers until Gravik is fully disintegrated. & To make sure every atom of Gravik is gone the 3 bodies with the 4th self detonate & explodes. As her 5th body looks from a distance to make sure theirs isn't any piece regrowing or lingering around waiting to fully grow back. As if it was a piece of him it would self regenerate as fast as it could cause it needs to be whole again. So if there was a piece of him it won't lay in one spot for a few hours or years cause it needs to grow back right away after being taken apart from it's main body. & Blood don't grow a body. Only skin, bones, muscle, & organs can grow back into a body.
I’ve given up hope on marvel. I won’t even watch the Disney plus shows anymore until they’ve finished airing and I can binge. That’s what I did with secret invasion. I don’t understand how you have such a drastic drop in quality. I think Feige has checked out and is just collecting checks at this point. It’s been mid after mid after mid.
Was it not Captain Marvel who had promised a new planet to the Skrulls? And practically, all the Avengers, especially Captain Marvel, know a very nice and habitable planet, they went there to kill Thanos in End Game. Why they removed her accountability over this mess? AI intro is the smartest thing over this mess, it implies something that pretends to be a human taking control.
2:15 This does seem likely, huh! But rather than an experiment to see how quickly we fall off the MCU, it would be to see how far they could go and get away with AI writing before people quit.

So... based on some of the powers they are using... are we to assume that someone got DNA from the Guardians of the Galaxy as well?
Like... what? Did they comb over the rubble of the Avengers complex and gather up DNA from everyone present at the final End Game battle?
Enough to actually clone them and/or replicate their superhuman abilities? As if the Avengers would've allowed that to happen?
SMH.
I noticed she had Korgs powers too. How the fuck did they get DNA from Korg??? And why Korg??? HE'S A ROCK.
@@LumPeyCusTerEd Ghost was a SHIELD agent, they most likely had her DNA on file already.

I love how only modern day Hollywood can make a spy thriller with shapeshifters so mind numbing boring and more predictable than my next sentence... Marvel you suck.
What you were expecting my sentence to be something funny, meaningful or maybe something that would break your puny mind? No. I'll take something from their book and make it the most anti-climatic thing ever said.
This is a Marvel problem, not a modern Hollywood problem. You act like there weren't bland spy thrillers back in the day.
It reminds me of a Dr. Who episode where they find lizard civilization living underneath the earth, where there is a faction that wants to go topside and wage war with humanity to retake the planet for themselves. I think it was a Matt Smith as Dr. Who episode.
If they would just embrace AOS, man.
But current Marvel can't have strong men. That is why the new British lady had all the good scenes Fury should have had.
I don't think the current writer's know a thing about LMD's and the depth of shield technology that could've and should've been showcased. This should've been Marvel's Mission Impossible. They started with agenda, not love.
I feel sad for Marvel. This used to be my happy place.
Have a great weekend Jonny ❤
I think they finaly reached a level beneath CW
One pile of garbage we have to sort is more than enough. No need for another, fictional one.
@@tonym.8069no one cares about one piece

I wouldn't be surprised if they did have Ai write these scripts. There was something soulless about the show.
For a while, I had the hope that the machine would go boom at the end - and in so doing, spreading like... supercharged gene transforming radiation or whatever - and that this would be the MCU's way of making mutants a thing in the world, which would be a way to introduce X-men into their universe.
Would have been kinda cool...
But alas...
The MCU nowadays is allergic to good ideas.
Oh man the spike of dopamine you've just given me from seeing this lovely idea in a comment 😭✨✨✨✨🌸now it hurts even more because sadly marvel didn't think of that

The plastic bag is actually logical. The previous episode established Gravik can regenerate bullet wounds so suffocating him is the only option
I haven't actually seen any of Secret Invasion but I think the episodes 'The Zygon Invasion' and 'The Zygon Inversion' did this concept way better in 2 episodes!
They needed more Skarasen, but aside from that top-tier.
Tbf the MCU is just doctor who for people with lobotomies
They most definitely did do this concept better. Bonnie the zygon was a more fleshed out antagonist than secret invasion’s.
19:28 I have a theory about why she wins … against a man.
Since Endgame, Kevin Fiege has clearly lost his game. This is another dud

Yeah, I just can’t fathom to how stupid Emilia Clarke looked in the finale.
This series cost $212 million...
It's more refreshing watching these reactions than the actual shows
The adverts looked terribly boring for it. Samuel L. playing Cuck Fury not a good look.
It cost $212 million to make this rubbish. GG Disney.
Twice as much as Oppenheimer… Let that sink in…
There must be some money laundering going on.
makes me really sad that we will never get an accurate secret invasion adaptation
You can make a overpowered character good. It's all about execution. You don't see anyone bitch about how stupidly over powered superman is.
@@imsentinelprime9279 But you do see really awkward questions like "Why doesn't Superman destroy all the nukes / bring food to the starving / stop the war?"
Compare that to, say, Buffy. She could kick any vampire's ass - but her town had a constant supply of vampires and she had to do her homework too. That made her story interesting.

Secret Invasion is so uninteresting, I can't even bothered to watch you tear it to shreds. It didn't break me so hard it broke me.
"...dare I say..."
Me: Shenanigans.
"...shenanigans."

11:22 At least, Captain Marvel is no longer the most powerful being in the Multiverse… 😂

The crayon piece was peak comedy, thank you!
I agree with everything you've said, it's a lazy, goofy mess. I think the one thing that makes sense is the super power absorption. Skrulls are naturally adaptive and it's pulled from the comics source material.
9:57 did she just fall over bc of some headlights?
That drax arm is so hilarious because to someone who didn’t watch the show, you could assume it was bad photoshop or maybe even some weird ass AI drawing. But no lol. No

This! 💯
Just stupid.
i didnt think i would be but i am still surprised that disney marvel continues to get worse!
This show was written by a human person that thinks they should be paid more 😂
honestly when i first saw the picture of emilya with that monstrosity arm i thought it was edited but now i just lost all hope regarding the future of the MCU
for me the MCU ended with endgame and no one will ever convince me of the opposite
I think the most TERRIBLE scene ever that doesn't make sense is when Talo got held up hostage by another Skrull infiltrator in human shape...and then Fury uses his human child to negotiate with the Scrull for Talos' life?? WHAT THE FK?? doesn't make sense...why would that Skrull, who took the human shape, care for a human child that is not even his?? writers????

"You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself on Disney+." Money...f'ing money.

Nothing Can Stop What Is Coming
They already blew their load with that idea on Hydra essentially taking over Shield from the inside out back in Winter Soldier.
Can skrulls copy clothes too?
Funny that you didn’t like the opening cause that’s the only piece of intrigue and semi paranoia we got in the this “can’t trust anyone” show
If given time, thought, and talent, this could have been a great show 😂
I would say that they should have made colonel Ross (Rhodey) act more like himself so that Nick wouldn't know if he was a scroll or not.
0:25 nice for them to borrow few clips from 2009 ps3 game Prototype, cool that someone still remembers that hidden gem
I’ve given up hope on marvel. I won’t even watch the Disney plus shows anymore until they’ve finished airing and I can binge. That’s what I did with secret invasion. If this couldn’t be more on the mark.
Phase 4, the live action anime nobody wanted.
