Just wait until they add TSA to these inspections stations. You'll have to climb down out of your rig, drop your pants, and let them inspect your reproductive equipment. Just to make sure you're not carrying an atom bomb taped to your scrotum.
I appreciate the good humor and respect with which you used to get through the inspection. It is the best strategy to minimize any problems. Also it is good for you and them emotionally and spiritually even.
I love California as a state, but going there as a trucker sucks. They have more weight stations than they have scales and truck parking places. There’s a lot of places where you pick up, and no matter which direction you go there is a weigh station before there is a scale you can use.
I had an incident where someone dropped a couch out of there pickup onto I 5 and I slammed on the brakes to avoid it and my whole beer load shifted forward 1/2 a mile before THIS scale, drove through the scale beer leaking out of the trailer with 70% of the weight on my drives. explained what happened, the scale cops sitting there writing me a ticket when they got a call about a couch in the roadway, he puts his ticket book away and tells me I am not going anywhere till the load is readjusted, I spent 6 hours moving all that beer to the rear of the trailer to satisfy them. I quit the trucking the next day. more trouble then it was worth.
That scale is always open lol that’s why I take I-5 Santa Nella it’s always closed when I pass by. I run Washington to Ontario CA every week. The only time I go 99 is if I’m going South.
Ahh good old California, they don't call it the land of fruits and nuts for nothing! I especially love it when you get a crooked DOT officer who cannot find shit so, he cuts you're airline then, puts you out of service for it. That happened to me over 15 years ago. $10 fine $68 for 2 new airlines, and about $70 for someone else to put them on if you do not do it yourself. The officer put a crease in my airline with his pocket knife cause he couldn't find anything else to get me on. Make a long story short, I threw the ticket away, got notified by mail that I was supposed to show up to court about 4 months later & the ticket went from $10 to $800 for non payment! I contacted San Clarita County about the ticket and told them that I would never pay the ticket, and why! I stayed out of California for several years, had no desire to ever go back but, had a load that did. My ticket had passed statute of limitations so, I don't have to sweat it anymore! With a company now that doesn't go there.😁
Chowchilla is famous for Inspections most of all out of state trucks. When i can i will go out of my way and head back to the 5. BUT there is a side road you can take to get around the scale and its fully legal. I take it all the time due to i load up Figs just down the road to that back road and i just bypass them and yes it is legal There is no sign on 99 that says YOU HAVE TO go across the scale. Now doesn't mean CHiP won't make you go back .

I will never understand with how much money the federal government gets from us in multiple ways. Why THE federal government doesn't have their own commercial enforcement agency and relies on states to enforce federal commercial vehicle codes
feds do have their own enforcement agency. FedDOT, they are at almost all Mexican border crossing points in at least Arizona and New Mexico. Since the interior POE's are owned by the various states is the biggest reason for the various kinds of DOT.
The best way to handle inspections are; first, pick your nose and be gross about it. No inspector wants to inspect a truck full of burgers. Second, leave dirty skid marked stained underwear around, no inspector wants to get close to that. Last but not least, keep a pic of a dying dog and show it to them. Your trying to make it home before it’s to late.

@@scottied67 - It’s not that simple because it’s not settled law that you can record your own detainment. An inspection, like this one, is a seizure of you and your truck. It may not be illegal for you to record but there isn’t a court case that has a holding that you have a constitutional right to record your own detainment by the authorities. There is a case on Appeal to the 4th Circuit Court Of Appeals...The District Court held that a right to record your own traffic stop detainment is not clearly established. That case also involves a right to live-stream the video while being detained in a traffic stop.
Anon Comenter .. basically what you saw here for a Level 1. Unless you're driving a real rat heap.. then they start checking deeper for safety issues. Most times a visual is a pass.
A level 1 inspection is a total check of all of the critical inspection items laid out in the FMCSR. There’s a list of specific items to be inspected, including the driver information. Anything short of that, is not a level 1 inspection. If they don’t go under the truck and inspect the brakes, it is NOT a level 1. At best it would be a level 2 inspection if they check the outside components. And engine/steering and axle.
That is unconstitutional anyone who's anyone has to get a warrant to search whatever vehicle you're in. Those are totally unconstitutional and go against your rights. You're not contracted with them they have no right to your vehicle or what you're carrying. Thats bullshit right there .
Check your green book, they are allowed to inspect anything that is listed in the green book including the size of your sleeper so that means they can enter your cab and look inside your sleeper any time they want to.
Im not sure why they even look at E logs. Are they really gonna find a violation? I'm on paper still so I wouldn't really know. I guess they check to see if it works? Lol
There are drivers that snort the "chalk dust" so they can drive more to earn more bills and get paid, the paperless version makes sure they earn bills to a limit
They check everything you would have on a paper log. Electronic logs should make it easier for drivers but they forget to input location if the gps isn't working, or I've been hearing lately they check to make sure you are logging your pre-trip and post trip.
I Always seem to get inspected on my way to a pickup or delivery and im late for my appointment. Twice in Colorado and another at wendover Utah point of entry. Little 20 year old bimbo who has no knowledge of a truck made me extremely late for delivery and almost caused me to miss my reload
And yet commercial vehicle enforcement justify their actions because damage done to roads. No they are here to make money plain and simple people need to start realizing that
I just got level 2'd the other day in New York State. It wasn't video day (I shoot Mon-Wed-Fri) so it's not on the channel. Even if is was, I don't know if I'd have the courage to film it...lol

I used to say that i if i didn't have to go to California again, i would consider my self forgiven; now the fact that i've been to California so many times; i know that i am cursed by God, and i will spend eternity in Hell. What a piece of shit gift this life is.
I was arrested at the Boone County, Ky I-71 Weigh station for not assisting D.O.T in a safety inspection. Charged with failure to display CDL's on demand, and refusal to submit too safety inspection... Here is what happen. (CASE DISMISSED and EXPUNGED!!) When I had entered the scale, I was directed to the back too the main scale. Once weighed, I noticed I was 2600 lbs over on my trailer axles. I was directed to the parking area and go inside the building. There were signs in the parking area that stated, " bring all paperwork inside". I decided to stand up for my legal constitutional rights and walked in without them. When I had entered into the building, an officer of the KSP named Mr. Piper had asked me, " where is your paperwork?", I had replied, " what is your probable cause?". Mr. Piper commented, " I dont have probable cause and i dont need any." I had informed Mr. Piper that under the 4th amendment of the constitution The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. At this point Mr. Piper had asked, " do you have your license?". I informed Mr. Piper that my license may have been in the truck where i usually keep them and if i did have them on me, it is considered a personal effect. Another officer of the KSP named Mr. Payton confronted me and asked, " what is your name?" I had told the officer my name, in which I did not have to due to the laws stating that No I.D. has to be given unless I was arrested for a crime. (Some states are stop and I.D. states, these types of states are only required to show I.D. if you are suspected of committing a crime, have committed a crime, or a crime is in progress" After I had given Mr. Payton my name, he had asked me, " What is your Social security number?" No government official has a right to ask that of any one. Your SSN is not required to be given at any time or situation and should not be asked. My reply was " I plead the 5th". Mr. Payton continued and said, " we can not run your information in our data base just by your name, we need another form of I.D or information to be able too." I had informed Mr. Payton, " Since there is no probable cause, I do not consent to you running a check on me thru your data base as it is a form of "searching" and is against my 4th amendment rights therefore i plead the 5th. Once Mr. Payton knew that he could not proceed to get what he wanted, he had informed me that he was going to inspect my truck. I had told Mr. Payton, " That is fine, the keys are in the truck, you may go and inspect it." Mr. Payton had replied, " You have to be a part of the inspection." I commented back, Show a law or regulation stating that a driver has to assist D.O.T in a safety inspection. Then another officer which was the supervisor by the name of Mrs. Horts got hostile and said, " What, you a lawyer now, you think you can do my job better than me!?" I decided to not say anything to her. Then Mr. Payton commented, " I am going to give you another chance to comply, We are not qualified to operate your Vehicle." I replied back to Mr. Payton, It is not my problem that you are not allowed to operate the Truck, but how ever, I will give you another chance to look up the regulation located in CFR 49 396 and show me where it states a driver has to assist D.O.T in an inspection? When you can show me that this regulations states that I have to assist you, then I will happily comply with you, but until then, I will respectfully decline your request and I plead the 5th in doing so. Mr. Payton refused to obey the command of a U.S. citizen and failed to uphold his duties as a "public servant" in serving me in my request and had also failed to uphold the rights of the people, the laws and the regulations as he had sworn to uphold and had arrested me illegally. It was all thrown out of court and expunged. Government officials fail to realize that the constitutional rights of the citizens of America does, and can, and always will trump any law or regulation or ordinance that is put in place. Congress makes these laws and only congress can pass these laws. In the beginning of the constitution it clearly states, " Congress shall make no laws against, and it also states in the constitution that congress can not infringe on the rights of the people. The constitution can not be removed. It is set in stone.
i think i might love you whatever that means. i am so happy to have others do what i been doing for a long time. them are losers in costumes and my best fun of all. f them sobs. hard days work would kill most of them. you go boy. and you keep going. i need more like you. we need more like you. we all need you
You’re so full of shit. Lmfao. First off, CFR 49-396.9 clearly states a DOT inspector “is authorized to enter upon and perform inspections of a motor carrier’s vehicles in operation”..... You are correct you do not have to help them with the inspection. But when they go into your commercial truck to secure your required log books, and they find everything in the world wrong with your truck, and they find your brakes to not be functioning as you refuse to assist them, you will be declared Out of Service. Depending on the state you are in, it may even be criminal, especially when you are put out of service. Then, your company will get fined out the ass, you will be fired, and no company will ever hire you again. Telling stories is fun, but giving bad advice is just going to get people in trouble. Operating a commercial motor vehicle is not a constitutionally afforded right.
Wait, so you were running 2600 pounds overweight on your trailer axle and decided to act like an assclown to prove a point that you couldve proven had you just acted like a professional in the first place. Yeah, thats something to be proud of.
Hey, one time, well recently, me and my family took the 99 highway past Chowchilla to get to Sacremento, or specifically, Citrus Heights. Right now, i live in Rosamond, Ca, which is near the 14 highway.
I don't get why your helping them with the inspection? apart from wanting to get on your way , you have no obligation to assist them with an inspection
Be cool to them and they will be cool with you..except for a few Dicks I've ran into from time to time..they are just doing their job..if DOT wasn't there their would be a bunch of fucked up truck's that shouldn't be on the road..inspection takes about twenty minutes and your on your way
You're not doing yourself any favors saying "if we can hustle", no idea where you loaded, vague answer for delivery point. These guys are not our friends, don't talk anymore than required.
How many miles do you drive in a month? Do parts (brakes, tires, etc.) where out or break between yearly inspections? Are there companies that are too cheap to properly maintain their equipment? And, do some companies use inexperienced drivers or bully their drivers into driving said trucks? Are a fair number of fatal truck accidents due to faulty equipment? Other than the first question (miles driven), the answer to all of the above is "yes".
And before someone asks... I started law school in the fall of '88. University of Alaska, Anchorage Slavery was abolished in Aug. 1865. What rights kick in while under custodial arrest.... All of them. Thats what you are.. Under custodial arrest during an inspection. You are not free to go.
I got out of an overweight ticket. Tho I was arrested. I pulled into the I71 southbound scales in boone county Ky. I was 2600 lbs over on my trailer. When they pulled me in the parking lot, there was a big sign stating, "bring all paper work inside". I didn't take anything in. When I had walked inside, the officer asked me where my paperwork was... So I asked him, " what is your probable cause?" The officer said," I don't need probable cause." So I recited him the fourth amendment, " The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." That officer didn't say another word to me the rest of the time I was there lol. Another officer thought he would take a crack at it. He asked me, " do you have your license on you?" I answered, " they may be in the truck." Then he asked me, " what is your name, by the regulations u have to identify, so I told him my name. Then the officer asked, "what is your birth date?" I told him, "I plead the fifth." The officer then said, " we can't look you up just by your name." I told the officer, " for you to look me up in your data base is also considered as searching, therefore without probable cause to search myself on your data base, I don't have to comply with this unlawful order." The the officer said, " I'm going to inspect your truck." I said, " go ahead, the keys are in it." The officer said, you have to be a part of it and we are not qualified to operate your truck." I told him, " then that sounds like a problem considering in your policy and in the CFR 49 regulations u are to be qualified to preform the inspections and show me where it states in the regulations that the drive is to assist the inspector in the inspection." He wouldn't look it up. He arrested me and charged me with failure to display cdls on demand, and failure to submit to a safety inspection. I went to court and defended myself and the case was dismissed and expunged. Hahaha. The regulations state the inspector is the one to preform the inspection. Don't say anything about a driver having to help. Some states are a "stop and I.D. state which means the only time u are required to show I.D. is if they have reasonable articular suspicion that u have committed a crime, about to commit a crime, or in the process of committing a crime. Other states are a stop and arrest state, meaning, the only time u are required to show I.D. is if u have been arrested. Overweight is not a crime, it is a violation. Cheers
Typical company's clowns. Cali insp isue ins for 30 days ! Never let drivers set brakes for inspection !! I I drivers don't asking questions only follow officers instructions.! I I I Drivers pick up report's from office ! So totally B s
Should have bypass the SOB, thru 152 and the 59 to Merced. And the tehachapi is closed after 12am. Or you shouldve taken the I5 then 165 north lands you right back onto 99 with no delays. If you know how to work your way around from so call to Oregon you would get 2 scales. And the bay area is a joke. I usually bale on those scales. And chp would only target box trucks.
The guys are only doing their job. They're here to protect the motoring public. Some trucks are overloaded, or have unsafe brakes, etc. And, also check on the log. I remember the days when truckers would be popping bennies to stay awake. Lots of accidents.

I thought level 1 inspections involved some guy nit picking everything on your truck,
Truck is only 6 months old plus I told him I had been inspected there a couple months prior and had passed, I think he saw that on the computer.
Lol
just checking your hours of service and to make sure you have one.
Oh you can still screw up on your logs well not you but your computer.
Did you put your self on duty for the inspection, didn’t see you do that
Frank Martinez whenever you turn the truck off, it automatically goes to on duty. He would just have to tab it as an inspection
That left lane is pretty much the by pass but we gonna give you a quick check but you go slow like that you throw up red flags.
I just subscribed to your channel.
Is called money.
At least the dot officer was nice
I Always seem to get inspected on my way to a pickup or delivery and im late for my appointment. Twice in Colorado and another at wendover Utah point of entry. Little 20 year old bimbo who has no knowledge of a truck made me extremely late for delivery and almost caused me to miss my reload
Where'd ya pick it up at, where's it headed to? Don't comifornia teach y'all how to read the bill of lading? Lmfao!!!
And yet commercial vehicle enforcement justify their actions because damage done to roads. No they are here to make money plain and simple people need to start realizing that
Are you required to help them do an inspection on you?
Not legally, it’s a 5th Amendment violation and entrapment according to my lawyer.
California don't give an F!
Last month I got my AZ license I think 🤔 doesn’t worth to work as truck driver too much headech I will continue as Uber driver no stress 😎
06:10 HAHA stay safe out there man!
These are money generating GOLD MINES !
Until some asshole with faulty brakes or bad tires kills your loved ones. Idiot
I just got level 2'd the other day in New York State. It wasn't video day (I shoot Mon-Wed-Fri) so it's not on the channel. Even if is was, I don't know if I'd have the courage to film it...lol
lol it is a public place with public employees. Although I did get a privacy strike on my channel from a Florida Ag inspector who didn't want his face on RUclips. so I just went back and blurred out his face.
Hey, legal or not, you don't want to piss off the blue.
That’s the easiest scale to go around in california.
Adds a few minutes to your drive but your right.
Chowchilla and Gilroy weigh stations are the worst here in CA man.
(CASE DISMISSED and EXPUNGED!!)
When I had entered the scale, I was directed to the back too the main scale. (Some states are stop and I.D. states, these types of states are only required to show I.D. if you are suspected of committing a crime, have committed a crime, or a crime is in progress"
After I had given Mr.
I'm seeing why drivers don't like the chicken coop.
What's your CSA score
How long did that actually take? The weigh station on Route 2 in Massachusetts is ALWAYS closed. I've literally NEVER seen it open.
The video is unedited, how long it took is exactly showing in the video
California 99 be careful they need to fix that hywy it's sucks. Blah
These dot just help to had more stress to the drivers .always acting like they nice when they are only looking for something to make u pay money
Duck tape for GPS. Funny

Good job, Scotty.
JEFFREY
Hey, one time, well recently, me and my family took the 99 highway past Chowchilla to get to Sacremento, or specifically, Citrus Heights. Right now, i live in Rosamond, Ca, which is near the 14 highway.
I don't get why your helping them with the inspection? apart from wanting to get on your way , you have no obligation to assist them with an inspection
Be cool to them and they will be cool with you..except for a few Dicks I've ran into from time to time..they are just doing their job..if DOT wasn't there their would be a bunch of fucked up truck's that shouldn't be on the road..inspection takes about twenty minutes and your on your way
Midturn road bypass that scale
That call skipping scale. Midturm rd to le grand. Run 2mls and turn on the next left and 4 more mills.backt to 99
Congrats.......
Ok I see answered my ?? Had a new windshield installed..it should be in the system that your truck was inspected and clear..
I don't stop at weigh stations
Mike Woods what are the laws with weight stations im thinking bout getting into trucking
@@leonardnose5695 you must pull in to weigh if the light says open or red . They can violate you and take your money if your truck has any violations
I love it when irritating RUclips want to be know it all truck drivers get. Inspected
I especially love it when haters watch and comment on my videos! They stupidly don't even know they are paying me LOL
scottied67 Lmfaoooo best reply ever.
Didn't this scale house used to be a lot smaller back around 2008-9...or am I thinking of another little one on 99...???
Furd Felmer actually this scale used to be in Livingston and was a little shack like Tehachapi
Livingston, ok thanks...it was small...mostly closed I remember, until I got pulled in...just had to slide my rears, no big.
Something's wrong on my end, I can't hear anything. Is it the video????

You're not doing yourself any favors saying "if we can hustle", no idea where you loaded, vague answer for delivery point. These guys are not our friends, don't talk anymore than required.
I heard that the Tempe AZ police are especially corrupt!
Believe nothing you hear and only half of what you see.
welcome to bullshitafornia,i mean California,ya California
I understand the safty issues but its bull, why bother to have you truck inspected yearly when then can stop you anytime they want.
Chumpchilla. There's the problem right there. ..
Dot is no different than the irs
good morning
Then just play that 1st amendment act and you're golden! Just Saying
And before someone asks... I started law school in the fall of '88.
University of Alaska, Anchorage
Slavery was abolished in Aug.
I'm lucky dot cant tell me to shut my truck off for any reason I have a service dog in the truck he needs the ac
How do I get around Cottonwood scales?
@@scottied67 you really cant.. that will be the second one i was reffering to..
DOT is so stupid, and to add to it its California. Doesnt get any worse.
The guys are only doing their job. They're here to protect the motoring public. Some trucks are overloaded, or have unsafe brakes, etc. And, also check on the log. I remember the days when truckers would be popping bennies to stay awake. Lots of accidents.
Everyone is trying to do their jobs, not only DOT.
Doing their job!! Instead of helping drivers to be more safe on the roads they help some money out your pockets.
I’m always nice at first if the officer is nice and cool, I stay nice, but if is a dick then I’m kind of a dick too, only respond with yes Sr no Sr if he wants more details I respond I don’t know look on the e-log or manifest
Be safe P.C.
