Welcome to Band-Maid! The best hard rock band I have heard in my 58 years on this planet. They don't stick to any one genre and often mix genres in songs. They are extremely diverse and have an extensive back catalogue featuring Punk, Pop-Punk, Hard-Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Prog, Blues, Jazz, Groove, Rap etc. From face melting 220 bpm punk-prog mayhem to ballads, instrumentals to acoustics they do it all. They can make you headbang, they can make you pogo, they can make you cry like a baby. They are also five of the nicest people in music, without a shred of ego. They are funny and fun and world class musicians to boot. They are currently into their 11th year with the original line up.
Well this really isn't Band-Maid to speak. This is Incubus performed by Band-Maid....regardless it's a great song and I really enjoy it every time I listen to it.This was a collaboration with Incubus' Mike Einziger. If you want what Band-Maid REALLY is, check out "Blooming" official music video.....then "Domination" Official LIVE........hang on!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Band-Maid. You like this song...then you're in for a surprise. This song is probably the softest, "radio friendly" song in their deep and diverse portfolio. This song was a collaboration song with Mike Einziger from Incubus. Lyrics by the main lyricist of the band Miku. The Maids opened for Incubus in Japan on 5/1/24 and the played this song for the first time live at this performance. Mikey-chan came on stage for the song to play with them on the live premier. Later that evening after the show, Mikey-chan again joined the Maids to watch the world premier of this song on YT. I love this song. As far as a genre is concerned...as you dive deeper into their portfolio, you will discover Band-Maid is their genre as they mix and match at will in the same song. Buckle up and enjoy the journey! PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 Next songs: "Alone" OMV - As suggested by Ambassador Roger. Their first song they wrote, which the label let them perform. "Domination" OLV from their Line Cube Shibuya Okyu-ji. "Hate?" OLV from the 10th Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena. A song about pure hate, but they make it sound so fun and uplifting. Turn on the CC for this one, they are quite interesting. Also, there's an amazing conversation between MISA (bassist) and Kanami (lead guitar) "From Now On" OMV an heavy instrumental which shows of the technical side of the Maids. "Onset" OLV another kick 🍑 instrumental. Watch MISA switch from pick to slap...IMPRESSIVE "Daydreaming" OMV Rock ballad masterpiece of a composition. You liked "Bestie", this on is all Maids. "Manners' and "Black Hole" OLV from their Online Okyu-ji. A two for with 2 different feels. The first with a bluesy/groovy feel. The second, organized chaos. Another masterpiece ripping by at 220bpm, their fastest song in the portfolio to date. "Freedom" OLV from the Line Cube Shibuya Okyu-ji. Fun, fun, fun...Akane on drums has a fun feature. Did I mention fun! Many, many more to explore.
This is a collaboration song with Incubus. If you want to hear "pure" Band Maid watch DOMINATION live and you'll get a taste. Best rock band on the planet. Band Maid can do this style too but don't judge the band by this song alone. They have a huge variety of songs and sounds.
@@theonlinemusicschool There are quite a few songs in the BAND-MAID catalogue where they capitalize on the fact that they have got an outstanding bass player and an excellent lead guitarist. Starting from the first MV, "THRILL," and all the way up to the recent performance of "HATE?" at Yokohama Arena at the end of last year, you'll see them often featuring a bass solo in a song, and sometimes a bass/guitar duel during a live performance (battle, conversation, whatever you wanna call it). Bass is rarely a featured instrument in rock music. The examples of good bassists which I may remember as similar to what MISA is doing, are Chris Squire from YES and Paz Lenchantin from... well, she played in many bands, my favourite is The Entrance Band. Paz is MISA's main influence, actually, she often mentioned her in the interview before. Kanami's influences are many, but she always refers to Santana in the first place. There are two songs where she definitely "goes all Santana," as her bandmates commented: the early song "Matador of Love and Passion" ("Ai to Jonetsu no Matadoru" in Japanese) and CATHARIS (カタルシス).
This is song, being a collaboration, is not one to get a good idea of what Band-Maid is usually except that the musicianship and composition is normal. They are generally a hard rock band that also does many other genres from soft-slow to heavy-fast. Recommend either Hate? live or the double song video Manners/Black Hole to get some other sounds they do.
Bestie was co-written with Mike Enziger of Incubus and has their flavour. I did think of saying it wasn't a typical Band Maid song but that's the thing about them is that they are full of variety. Check out Manners/Black Hole live for 2 more very different songs.
@@stevekane4922 That's actually the thought which came to my mind as I perused this reaction and analysis. BAND-MAID just go around enjoying themselves and doing collabs with people they befriend. And the result is invariably amazing. That's the way to live the life, isn't it?
This song is great but it's like listening to Beth as your first Kiss song. This is probably the most radio friendly song they have done. A good introduction (imo) would be Domination (live video), Dice (music video), and for an instrumental that shows off their skills From Now On (music video). Band-Maid plays a wide range of hard rock music, incorporating a lot of different genres, and nailing it each time. The musicianship is off the charts and (again imo) are the best hard rock band on the planet today and can hold their own with the legends (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen etc.). Great reaction :)
Roger is a true prophet of Band-Maid. He seems to be the first person most reactors hear from about our Maids. Band-Maid is a genre defying all female Japanese rock group who incorporates almost elements of rock into their music. "Bestie" is slight departure from their normal hard rock sound. They do have other beautiful rock ballads in their arsenal. I suggest you next react to "Hate?", the official live video, from their 10th Anniversary Tour finale. Yes, the wonderfully talented young women have remained intact for over a decade, rocking the world wherever they go. If you take the time to react to more of the official music videos from the Band-Maid channel on RUclips, you will discover a wonderful world of rock music.
@@jjo154 Well, why not? If Miku watches an anime or a movie or reads a manga about apathy, she will definitely come up with therapeutic lyrics which will have the power to magically heal anyone who has lost interest in life. Something in line with her beautiful and wise words in Play: Each flower shall wither Each human being shall wither Nothing is eternal Don’t fall into that trap The clock of life is ticking But until then, don’t stop, Fighter

Love Band-Maid!!!! This is not the best song to represent the full range of "Band-Maid", it is definitely on the edge. You need to check out more to get a full understanding... generally live videos are best. Thanks for the reaction.
Yea, I would say that this is not indicative of their sound as this was a collaboration that came off a bit mainstream. They are typically way more aggressive and complex.
BTW...you will probably hear some things said, so some FYI's: For Maid theme: Miku, the band founder used to work in a Japan Maid Cafe to make ends meet until she made her dreams come true. Her vision, create "the gap", a juxtaposition between cute Maids and hard rocking Music. "Masters and Princesses" - this is what the Maids call their fans "Okyu-ji" - Translates to "Servings", which is what they call their live concerts "Omajinai Time" - Translate to "Magic Spell Time", a spell cast at by Maids and their Masters and Princess at Maid Cafes "Maid Armor" or "Maid Battle Armor" - the Maid outfits they wear. Although they started with same/similar outfits, they have evolved over time to fit the personalities of each Maid. Other FYI: Kobato is the family name of Miku, the second lead vocal, backing vocal, rhythm guitar, main lyricist and band founder. Her Kanji translate to "small pigeon". So she has taken on the persona of a 810 yr old pigeon. Thus ending most of her sentences with "PO!" "PO!" - Onomatopoeia associated to the sound a pigeon in Japan is "Kuruppo" or "Poppo". PO! being the shortened version
As you've hear by now this is a co-write, but they bring their own flavor to it. Not really typical Band-Maid, as you'll see, but well done nevertheless. Band-Maid are genre-benders, but always have a distinct sound, usually rotating around a hard rock center. Their songwriting is consistently brilliant and their live performances are stellar. Keep it going -- almost doesn't matter which one you go for next!
"Bestie" is a little unusual as a place to start with Band-Maid. It was a collaboration with Mike Einziger of Incubus, hence they are not dressed in their normal "maid" clothes, inspired by the maid cafes of Japan. Their other music tends to be more hard rock, although still catchy. As none of them are fluent in English they normally sing in Japanese, sprinkled with English phrases. Most of their music is entirely written by the band members, not covers or collaborations -- which is why "Bestie" is a little unusual. In fact, they are just now branching out into collaborations after ten years of playing almost entirely their own music (or, in the first few years, music composed specifically for them).
Welcome to the BandMaid experience! The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts: •Bass solos are more likely to happen than not. There's a bass solo on their very first video! •Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be •Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen. •Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre! •You like a hard rocking crazy fast tune? Well how about it done as a slower acoustic version? They do that. •April Fools Day 2019 As a joke they recorded a redo of Secret my Lips with traditional instruments and with lyrics in a Kyoto dialect. MV is stunningly beautiful. •The linchpin member of the band gets the least notice/praise. The Mighty Miku Kobato founder/lead singer steps back to make way for a new more hard rock vocalist. They want her to hold a guitar so she does and learns to play on the fly, performing all the while she's learning. So the person who willed the band into existence, who is the primary lyricist, the only member who sings and plays an instrument most of the time gets the least comments from reactors. Oh yeah she has her own signature model guitar from Zematis (after playing less than 10 years) •10 plus years with the same line up. Think about that. •More hooks, riffs and motifs in many songs than most bands have on an album. Check it out. No hyperbole. •Use of puns, wordplay using homophones between Japanese and English are not the exception. They are typical of Kobato's lyrics. •Despite the fact that their LIVE videos are superior to the official studio MV"s the latter are excellent. Funny, graphic, innovative and stunningly beautiful works of art describe what you get with BandMaid's official MV's. •As close to the Beatles in terms of unique persona of the members as any group since the Monkees. MISA is quiet and drinks. Akane is happy and eats, Miku is klutzy and CUTE, Kanami is an airhead who crushes on Saiki and Saiki was the Ice Queen. But the Ice Queen has thoroughly thawed. See Yokohama's Endless Story! Their image is carefully crafted or spontaneous or both. •Many songs have catch phrases or singalong sections to engage the audience. Many songs are in English and Japanese. Most songs are full of joy as well. •They're having a ball. They enjoy performing. They enjoy the fans. They enjoy each other. •Make no mistake, this is not a regular band.
@@theonlinemusicschool Regarding short guitar solos - Kanami even composed an instrumental "Don't be long" to highlight this principle of hers. They produced instrumental versions for a good half of their catalogue. And the amazing thing is that without vocals, those songs sound like something completely different - even more interesting in many cases. With the vocals on top, it's often next to impossible to understand what the instruments are really doing. Without vocals, you suddenly understand what's happening beneath them, and get shocked. Akane the drummer, in my opinion, is the best drummer in rock which ever existed on Earth. I don't know what your opinion on her will be in the end, but I often fall into listening specifically to her amazing double kicks when I listen to BAND-MAID. You may hear them very well in songs like the studio version of DOMINATION (the MV is amazing). Akane is a team player and heartily dislikes making drum solos, but in the end her bandmates convinced her to make a few. There is a short one in the live version of DOMINATION, and a longer one in the live version of FREEDOM. There was a whole three-minute section during their Yokohama Arena show where Akane performed a two-part solo, consisting of a groovy slower part, and then a crazy fast part. But she understands very well that drums are not a melodic instrument, and prolonged drum solos quickly become boring for the audience. Akane's strength lies in her mind-blowing ability to accentuate what her bandmates are doing. She spoke about this in many interviews: she adds kicks where the bass is playing, cymbals for vocal moments, etc. etc. By the way, Akane really shines in "Don't be long" which I mentioned at the beginning of this comment. Officially it's available as an audio-only, but there is a nice fancam of it from their US 2019 tour. It's my favourite instrumental of BAND-MAID, actually.
Welcome, School Master! You are embarking on (along with many others - over 200 million views just on their official YT channel, plus over 40 million reactor plays!) an awesome, progressive, hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of all rockers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Prog, Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Jazz, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Joy of Playing, Consistency (130+ songs), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destined for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Akane Hirose (A-Ka-Nay) "Gorilla" - Drums, 33 years old, band energizer & co-clown with MISA. Achi’s talents include massive consumption of noodles and bananas, of course, (even during performance!) while revolutionizing rock drumming with relentless drive, dynamics and the kick. This “DrumZilla” is the Party! MISA (Me-Sa) "Barefoot Assassin" - Bass, 31 years old. An alluring free spirit driving her 5-string to rapturous low-ends while pulling off surprising counter leads with Kanami, off-stage MISA is the band’s goofball ballerina. Oh my goodness! Thanks so much for taking the time to give all this info, it is honestly really appreciated and I will definitely be checking out more 😁😃😁
As others have said because this is a collab it isn't typical Band Maid. And if you're a fan of Tool I think you're going to like their catalog of 130 songs. I personally like this song because it's the only one I can sing along with for the whole song. Though it took me quite a while to keep up with Saiki on the second verse. 😅
Funny thing about BAND MAID -- the bands you've listened to (and liked) in the past are brought out in BAND MAID songs. Many people will hear bands like GNR (BAND MAID opened for them in 2023) to Paramore and many others.
Hands down the best rock band on the best rock band out there. The maids have songs from every genre of rock, and also metal, punk and everything in between. Whatever style of music you're into, Band-Maid have a song to keep you happy. But they are definitely best experienced live, pick any live performance from their official channel and be prepared to be blown away.

Very diverse band ,and this song surprised a lot of BM fans, but thats what these ladies do,no cookie cutter same old same old, check them out live they are a powerhouse, good starter is ,Domination live,,great reaction enjoy.
Welcome to the world of BAND-MAID, it was a very fun reaction. Both their music videos and live performances are wonderful. For music videos, I recommend "Manners," "Blooming," and "Choose Me," and for live performances, I recommend "Domination," "Freedom," "On Set," and "Moratorium." There are about 100 other recommended songs.
@@theonlinemusicschool Actually, it would be interesting to hear your analysis of their song structure. It's always the same, they really follow a formula. And this is a very successful formula.
This is the latest song on BAND-MAID’s extensive catalog of 120+ songs, and it’s an extreme outlier because: they usually play very hard, very fast rock, but this is a collaboration with Mike Eiziger of Incubus, hence the 90’s sound; this is only one of two songs with 100% English lyrics; usually they wear maid outfits. To understand what BAND-MAID are really about, watch these two live performances: DOMINATION (2020); HATE? (2023, from the last show of their tenth anniversary tour)
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band. Miku Kobato - mee-koo - Kuruppo, the Little Pigeon, the Little Engine Who Will - band founder, backing (and occasionally lead) vocals, rhythm guitar, principal lyricist, tireless Spokespigeon and PR machine. Wielder of weapons grade cuteness. Poker shark and horse racing fanatic. So determined to see her band succeed that she fired herself as lead singer (she decided her voice wasn't strong enough for hard rock), then went looking for a replacement. Learned to play guitar after the band was formed. Definitely eccentric, possibly insane. Kanami Tono - kah-nah-mee - Kanamincho or just Mincho - lead guitar, keyboards, principal composer and arranger. On stage, she's a savant mad riffer with a room temperature IQ and a huge crush on Saiki. In reality, she's a genius, and not just musically- she has a degree in economics with honors. A sweet, motherly woman who turns into a beast when you hand her a guitar. Akane Hirose - ah-kah-neh - A-chan, the Gorilla - drums, sequencing, snacks, the leader the band doesn't have. What you see is what you get- a cheerful jock with a huge appetite who burns off the calories murdering her drums. Completely unflappable. Frequently snacks between songs. Has been known to sign her banana peels and throw them to the audience. MISA - mee-sah - the Barefoot Assassin, MISA MISA MISA! - bass, booze, occasional wet work. Usually stone faced. Barely acknowledges the audience's existence. Always has a beer or a bottle of Jim Beam on her Orange amp. Originally, these were ways of coping with stage fright. These days, that's just how the assassin rolls. Saiki Atsumi - sah-ee-kee (but Psyche is close enough) - the Ice Queen, Sensei, Sai-chan - lead vocals, some lyrics, the "We're done" girl. Fashionista and train nerd. Regards her band mates, especially Kanami and Miku, with bemused exasperation. In total command on stage; hides behind Miku off stage (she's actually kind of shy).
Friend you have no idea. If you want the totality of what is Band-Maid, try Domination live, the instrumental From Now On, a thrasher called, Rinne, a ballad type Daydreaming. I could go on and on, they have well over a hundred songs in their catalog and not one stinker. Oh, and if you want to see their beginning break out tune, it's called Thrill. They were so young then.
Actually "Bestie is a "Worstie" for a first time B-M reaction. It was a collab with Mike Einziger from Incubus. Please react to "Hate?" official live next to hear what B-M are really all about :)
@@theonlinemusicschool Ooh can i put in a request for my fave B-M song then "Don't You Tell Me" live at Yokohama. I'm swaying you cos i'm English too & i'm leaving you my imploring emoji faces.🥺😟
For a Band-Maid intro to a newbie, I still believe Warning OMV or Domination OMV are the best choice. I know they are worn out with fans, and people definitely like Hate... I just think the melody and lyrics don't show off the band as well as those two or even as well as DYTM or Endless Story does for a first time look. And if the first-timer is a woman (unless they're a hardcore rocker), Bestie or Daydreaming may be the best intro song, imxo. In reality, it probably doesn't matter much. Maid magic from any live song performance will permeate the heart of most anyone.
@@TomClark-Futoura Tom i agree that "Warning" & "Domination" are far better choices. There's nothing wrong with Bestie but if i can make a comparison to what a The Warning fan said on Reddit "The Warning are my fave band but they're generic as f**k" then that describes "Bestie" in a nutshell :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 Right. There really is nothing wrong with the song, imo. I would describe "Bestie" as: "A super tasteful, well recorded and produced, mid-tempo Band-Maid song about enduring friendship." Hey, what's not to like? 🤷♂Any negative or neutral terms like low-energy, generic, or vanilla just don't merit attachment to this beautiful tune, again, imo. 🫡
Great vid - you have a great ear for the intricacies, and you've found a band that is nothing BUT intricacies. And they are such good musicians, they are literally musical chameleons - any style, even mixed within the same song. And a great fan community. Thanks!
Thank you for your reaction. It was actually interesting to see someone starting with this song. You have probably been drowned in suggestions already but I anyway suggest ”No God”, latest official live. Have fun! :)
A very very unusual and maybe misleading first listen to Band-Maid. They are normally a hard and heavy rock band, fast and energetic, but this was a collaboration with a western composer and that's why it sounds rather like "western style" pop rock. Only one of 3 of their songs completely in english. To see what they are really capable of, try the music videos for "Shambles" or "Warning!" or the live videos for "Hate?" or "Domination". Thanks 🤘🏻 🙂
Despite not being the song most would recommend as an intro to Band-Maid, you picked up on the musical elements that (you will discover) makes them one of the (if not the best imho) best rock bands ever. And you got that Band-Maid smile that hits when a new Maidiac is being born. Looking forward to your future reactions as you head down the pigeon hole.
Glad you liked them, and very curious what you might think of the next piece you react to from them. Lots of suggestions below from the rest of us Madiacs, and that's because they have an immense number of great songs. You get to be a guinea pig in a little experiment to see how the rest of their music sounds to a person who started on this one. Bon voyage!
Welcome to Band-Maid. This is really sort of, kinda, well, you know. Pop Rock was close. Band-Maids genre is Band-Maid. They go soft, hard, Hard Rock, Punk, Metal, Prog, Pop-Punk, Alt... Don't try to put them in a box.
Hadn't see this 'till now - Appearance is VERY uncharacteristic of them 👀 I see they've unsurprisingly done some divergence since I last paid attention to them circa Manners... ✅ Oddly enough (according to me 😁) Band Maid with The Warning got me interested again - which lead to HATE? which fully got me interested again 🎸🌟🌟
Thanks for the the reaction. Band-Maid are a group of musicians loved by many musicians because they push genres to places you'd never think of. Classical, punk and jazz fused into a 4mins masterpiece. Played and recorded live. ruclips.net/video/dV0CdCK4cMs/видео.html
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world! This song is great but not really representative of their sound. You did get a glimpse of the musical talent of our Maids though. I recommend anything on their RUclips channel, especially live! And of course, thanks to Roger!
This is a bit out of Band Maid style as it's a partnership with Incubus. The second part of the song is more Band Maid Style. But Band Maid is a style by themselves. Worth dig in their 120 songs catalogue.
Right band, wrong song although I do like this one. This was a collaboration with Incubus. The maids cannot be put in a genre. Unless awesome is a genre?😊
"Awesome BANDMAID" IS a genre. I looked it up in the...um..."Official Book of Music Genres" & it definitely says "Awesome BAND-MAID" in my recently amended updated version :)
Bestie is a fine song, but why choose that as an introduction to Band Maid🎀? I feel Dice, Chose Me, Hate?, Blooming, or a dozen others would have better shown what they're best known for, hard, fast, loud, in your face music!😸
This was probably the worst song in their entire catalog to introduce yourself to them. This is very atypical of their usual material, which is usually a lot faster, heavier, and more complex, with virtuoso musicianship. This was a collaboration with the guitarist from Incubus, so he had a lot of input into the composition. It is very dumbed down compared to most of their material. However, if you're able to like even this song, then the rest of your Band-Maid journey should go nowhere but up!
So - this amazing band has maybe 100 banger songs and one mediocre . Please listen to something else. Actually whatever. It can only be better than this.
Wow. You don't even pay attention to what people actually request and just do what you want? No wonder your channel isn't more successful and then reactors like NittPicc show up and have 20k followers in less than 4 months.
Don't be a dick. It was a nice reaction. Maidiacs generally have a good reputation among reactors, so don't ruin it. Save that for the clueless jerk claiming to have a view from the stage.
Thanks so much man! It seems like I have found another community here!!! 😁😁😁

Thanks for the info and yes! I can't wait to dig deeper 😍💯
PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
Next songs:
"Alone" OMV - As suggested by Ambassador Roger.
Also, there's an amazing conversation between MISA (bassist) and Kanami (lead guitar)
"From Now On" OMV an heavy instrumental which shows of the technical side of the Maids.
"Onset" OLV another kick 🍑 instrumental. Watch MISA switch from pick to slap...IMPRESSIVE
"Daydreaming" OMV Rock ballad masterpiece of a composition.
🍺🥴🤘🏻
Thank you so much! More content coming soon 😀😊😄
This is a collaboration song with Incubus. If you want to hear "pure" Band Maid watch DOMINATION live and you'll get a taste. Best rock band on the planet. Band Maid can do this style too but don't judge the band by this song alone. They have a huge variety of songs and sounds.
Domination is a great song!! But I think he had better check music video I think.
Thanks so much for the info and recommendations! I really appreciate it buddy 🙏🙏🙏
The very, very tip of a massive, unique and fun catalogue of music. Welcome to BAND-MAID.
Thanks for the welcome 🤗🤗🤗
This is song, being a collaboration, is not one to get a good idea of what Band-Maid is usually except that the musicianship and composition is normal. They are generally a hard rock band that also does many other genres from soft-slow to heavy-fast. Recommend either Hate? live or the double song video Manners/Black Hole to get some other sounds they do.
"pop-rock" "a bit Paramore-y", I agree completely, based on that your next song should be "from now on" MV. Thanks for the reaction!
Thanks for the recommendation 😃😃☺️
@@theonlinemusicschool He he 😁 You'll be shocked 😂
How about Rinne or Different? Just for giggles!
@@Prober61 He went with "Hate?" but the Lollapalooza version (which I love).
Bestie was co-written with Mike Enziger of Incubus and has their flavour. I did think of saying it wasn't a typical Band Maid song but that's the thing about them is that they are full of variety. Check out Manners/Black Hole live for 2 more very different songs.
Ooooooh that is very cool information and makes a lot of sense now that I listen back to it!!!! Hope you enjoyed it buddy 😄
Mikey chan Einziger really connected with kanami and the band. This is not common. They are all very geeky. @@theonlinemusicschool
@@stevekane4922 That's actually the thought which came to my mind as I perused this reaction and analysis. BAND-MAID just go around enjoying themselves and doing collabs with people they befriend. And the result is invariably amazing. That's the way to live the life, isn't it?
Or Sayonakidori (acoustic version) and Rinne or From Now On for two even more very different songs. ❤🕊❤🌊❤🦍❤🥷❤👸🏻
Excellent analogy(or is it simile)! Good word thingy.
Thank you so much, I can't wait to fully immerse myself!
Bill! 🍺🥴🤘🏻
Bill, I'm waiting for them to come out with a song titled "Apathy", but I don't think that word exists in Miku's lexicon. 🤔
More like "I WILL Excite You!"
I know I have seen! I am honestly so grateful for all the recommendations! Thanks 🙏🙏🙏🙏
@@jjo154 Well, why not? If Miku watches an anime or a movie or reads a manga about apathy, she will definitely come up with therapeutic lyrics which will have the power to magically heal anyone who has lost interest in life. Something in line with her beautiful and wise words in Play:
Each flower shall wither
Each human being shall wither
Nothing is eternal
Don’t fall into that trap
The clock of life is ticking
But until then, don’t stop, Fighter

Thanks for checking out our Maids but I actually requested the mv for ‘Alone’🍺😆🤘🏻
Hahaha sorry man!!!
Yea, I would say that this is not indicative of their sound as this was a collaboration that came off a bit mainstream. They are typically way more aggressive and complex.
Yeah, I wondered why you would request this one as an intro to the Maids, lol! I thought maybe all the heavy lifting might have taken a toll on you. 😆
@@johnquinn7794 yeah, should be interesting to see his reaction to the next one, likely to be VERY different 😃

ROOOOOGGGGEEEER 👍🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Go Carrier Pigeons!!!!! Are they a football team?
BTW...you will probably hear some things said, so some FYI's:
For Maid theme:
Miku, the band founder used to work in a Japan Maid Cafe to make ends meet until she made her dreams come true. Her vision, create "the gap", a juxtaposition between cute Maids and hard rocking Music.
"Masters and Princesses" - this is what the Maids call their fans
"Okyu-ji" - Translates to "Servings", which is what they call their live concerts
"Omajinai Time" - Translate to "Magic Spell Time", a spell cast at by Maids and their Masters and Princess at Maid Cafes
"Maid Armor" or "Maid Battle Armor" - the Maid outfits they wear. Although they started with same/similar outfits, they have evolved over time to fit the personalities of each Maid.
Other FYI:
Kobato is the family name of Miku, the second lead vocal, backing vocal, rhythm guitar, main lyricist and band founder. Her Kanji translate to "small pigeon". So she has taken on the persona of a 810 yr old pigeon. Thus ending most of her sentences with "PO!"
"PO!" - Onomatopoeia associated to the sound a pigeon in Japan is "Kuruppo" or "Poppo". PO! being the shortened version
This is awesome 😎 thanks so much buddy 😅😁
As you've hear by now this is a co-write, but they bring their own flavor to it. Not really typical Band-Maid, as you'll see, but well done nevertheless. Band-Maid are genre-benders, but always have a distinct sound, usually rotating around a hard rock center. Their songwriting is consistently brilliant and their live performances are stellar. Keep it going -- almost doesn't matter which one you go for next!
Thanks so much 👍👍👍👍
"Bestie" is a little unusual as a place to start with Band-Maid.
A lot of people have said this 😂 I will definitely be looking into the other stuff 🤠
I hope you are ready to be flooded by comments now lol
enjoyed your enjoyment of the song!
I am here for it!!!! Can't wait 😁😁😁😁👍
Welcome to the BandMaid experience! The greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century. Here's some opinions and facts:
•Bass solos are more likely to happen than not. There's a bass solo on their very first video!
•Guitar solos are shorter, far shorter than you would like them to be
•Unless you are superhuman, you will not/ can not be able to pick up everything they're doing to make that song great on the first listen.
•Genre? Genres?? We don' need no stinkin" genre!
•You like a hard rocking crazy fast tune? Well how about it done as a slower acoustic version? They do that.
•April Fools Day 2019
As a joke they recorded a redo of Secret my Lips with traditional instruments and with lyrics in a Kyoto dialect.
Oh yeah she has her own signature model guitar from Zematis (after playing less than 10 years)
•10 plus years with the same line up.
My goodness thank you so much, it seems this band has an awesome and really loyal fanbase!!! 🙏👍
Hi The Online Music School,
welcome to the world of Band-Maid.
Glad to have you on this journey.
Thanks so much man! I am totally here for it! 🙏🙏🙏
Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off-the-rails spectacular!
Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 70 favorites! But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written, mid-tempo songs like Daydreaming, Bestie, About Us, Memorable, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, At The Drop Of A Hat, Mirage and Smile... or more punky like After Life, Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like Manners and The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or a bit jazzy like Wonderland… or progressive like No God, Giovanni, and Black Hole… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series… or instrumentals like From Now On, Don’t Be Long, Onset, Without Holding Back and Going Nuts… or their many acoustic versions like Catharsis and Sayonakidori... and last but not least, their Anime hits (AniMaid) like Sense, Glory and Unleash!!!!! (from their own Anime MV (series?)): ruclips.net/video/7LB_EPS48HE/видео.html)

Band-Maid Members:
Saiki Atsumi (Sy-i-Key or Psyche) “StarQueen" - Lead vocals, arrangements and melodies. At 30 and the youngest, “Sensei” (Teacher) as band members call her, has the last word on many musical decisions. High-heels or sneakers, Sai-chan’s smile melts away her sometimes perceived, coldish persona. Saiki’s powerhouse performances, charisma, and voice focus the experience that’s driven her to the top echelon of hard rock frontwomen... or frontmen!
Miku Kobato (Me-Ku) "Small Pigeon" - Rhythm guitar, vocals, lyricist, 32 years old. “Koba”, as Saiki calls her, is the Band founder and a firecracker MC & PR SpokesPigeon, po! Her “Magic Spell Time” charm and energy ignite the room. Kuruppo! No, no, no… KURUPPO!!
Kanami Tono (Ka-Na-Me) “Princess” - Lead guitar, keyboards, 32 years old, is a prolific writer of most Band-Maid material. Kanami (translates “Song Wave”) is a possessed riff-slayer who’s so damn adorable it hurts. The only thing you want from Mincho is more!
Sometimes seen as the Mysterious One because she lets her instrument do the talking, the Assassin literally kills it… every note... uniting Band-Maid’s world-class rhythm section. A slug of JB, a slight grin, and let the slappin’ begin… MISA! MISA! MISA!

Probably one of their most laid back songs....so you know what you have to do next...
More Band Maid Always!! Po!
😁😁😁😁👍👍
If he listens to "HATE?" next, what will happen? Make your bets, Ladies and Gentlemen!
I honestly can't wait to get some more content of them up!!! Watch this space! ⭐
Prepare yourself for the onslaught of info and recommendations. Oh, it's already here! 😜
Hahahaha I know! I am totally here for it 🙏❣️
Funny thing about BAND MAID -- the bands you've listened to (and liked) in the past are brought out in BAND MAID songs. Many people will hear bands like GNR (BAND MAID opened for them in 2023) to Paramore and many others.
That is awesome 😎
Hands down the best rock band on the best rock band out there. The maids have songs from every genre of rock, and also metal, punk and everything in between. Whatever style of music you're into, Band-Maid have a song to keep you happy. But they are definitely best experienced live, pick any live performance from their official channel and be prepared to be blown away.
Great analysis I can't wait for more 🙏
Nice reaction. But this song is just a peace of cake for them.
Thanks 🙏 I can't wait to explore them more!

Very diverse band ,and this song surprised a lot of BM fans, but thats what these ladies do,no cookie cutter same old same old, check them out live they are a powerhouse, good starter is ,Domination live,,great reaction enjoy.
I will do, thanks so much!!!
Awesome!!! Thanks so much for the recommendations 😃🤠😃
This is a more chill song compared to the majority of their work. Check out "BLOOMING" OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO
Thanks so much for the recommendation ☺️☺️☺️
Five amazing Japanese ladies that will rock your music world!
I cannot wait!!!! 😍
@@theonlinemusicschool Actually, it would be interesting to hear your analysis of their song structure. It's always the same, they really follow a formula. And this is a very successful formula.
Check out Blooming.

You’ve felt the love from Band-Maid with Bestie, now feel the musical wrath of Band-Maid with Hate? Live official video. You’ll be stunned for sure.😊
Thanks so much for the welcome and the recommendation 😄😄😄🙏
@@theonlinemusicschool Parker welcomes everyone to B-M...these days.😏
This is the latest song on BAND-MAID’s extensive catalog of 120+ songs, and it’s an extreme outlier because: they usually play very hard, very fast rock, but this is a collaboration with Mike Eiziger of Incubus, hence the 90’s sound; this is only one of two songs with 100% English lyrics; usually they wear maid outfits.
To understand what BAND-MAID are really about, watch these two live performances: DOMINATION (2020); HATE? (2023, from the last show of their tenth anniversary tour)
Awesome, thanks for all the info and recommendations. Awesome stuff man 👍👍👍
Okay, names, pronunciation, nicknames, and roles, in order that they joined the band.
Oh my goodness, this is definitely what I needed 😁😁😁 thank you so much!!! 🙏
this is great! altho you forgot one teensy tiny deet: MISA sometimes kills with her smile! ~remembers smile - dies~ ☺ 🤭
I cannot wait to delve deep!!!
Oh congratulations on 1k subs, im sure the maidiacs will get u 20 easy in no time

Actually "Bestie is a "Worstie" for a first time B-M reaction. It was a collab with Mike Einziger from Incubus. Please react to "Hate?" official live next to hear what B-M are really all about :)
This seems to be a popular choice....watch this space 😁😁😁😁👍😎
Thanks so much nice reaction!
You shouldn`t be fooled by this song!
How about Puzzle (live) is the next song?
I hope you enjoy it!
Really appreciate the love thank you 👍👍👍 and thanks for the recommendation ☺️
Man you got some amazing songs heading your way.

They are rock and roll guardian angels and the best hard rock band on this planet🤘Keep an eye on them!!
I definitely will do 😀😊😄😊
Great vid - you have a great ear for the intricacies, and you've found a band that is nothing BUT intricacies. And they are such good musicians, they are literally musical chameleons - any style, even mixed within the same song. And a great fan community. Thanks!
Thanks so much for the positive feedback, it means the world to me! 😀😀
Kanami, lead guitar and songwriter, says her main influence is Carlos Santana. She also gives Eddie Van Halen credit for learning how to tap in songs.
I love this girls nice reaction greeting from germany
Greetings! Glad you enjoy 😁😁
Welcome to *BAND MAID!*
🤘❤🔥🤘
😎😎😎😎👍😁
Thank you for your reaction. It was actually interesting to see someone starting with this song. You have probably been drowned in suggestions already but I anyway suggest ”No God”, latest official live. Have fun! :)
I have hahahaha! Thanks so much! 🙏🙏🙏
BAND-MAID cross most genres in their catalogue and sometimes in the same song.
Thanks 🤘🏻 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for the recommendations!!! 😁😁😁 More to come 😁
Welcome to the world of Band Maid check out lives performance
I will my friend 😄😄😄
Despite not being the song most would recommend as an intro to Band-Maid, you picked up on the musical elements that (you will discover) makes them one of the (if not the best imho) best rock bands ever.
And you got that Band-Maid smile that hits when a new Maidiac is being born.
Looking forward to your future reactions as you head down the pigeon hole.
Thanks so much for the positive feedback. It means the world to me 🙏🙏🙏

Bon voyage!
I know!!! It looks like I've been welcomed into an amazing new community and can't wait to learn more!!! 😁
Welcome home.
Thanks so much 🙏🙏🙏👍
Band-Maid reminds me of Band-Maid. And angelic is the very best way to describe their music.
Great reaction mate 👍👍👍
Thanks so much!!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Good reaction.
Thanks so much!!!!
roger dropped the ball on this one, should have gone with a BANDMAID🎀song, something THEY wrote themselves!😸
Band Maid is its own genre!
I'm starting to believe the hype 🤗
Hadn't see this 'till now - Appearance is VERY uncharacteristic of them 👀
I see they've unsurprisingly done some divergence since I last paid attention to them circa Manners... ✅
Oddly enough (according to me 😁) Band Maid with The Warning got me interested again - which lead to HATE? which fully got me interested again 🎸🌟🌟
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍
Highly recommend

Band-Maid are a group of musicians loved by many musicians because they push genres to places you'd never think of.
Classical, punk and jazz fused into a 4mins masterpiece. Played and recorded live.

You are more than welcome 🤗🤗🤗
Thanks for reacting to the greatest hard rock band in the world! This song is great but not really representative of their sound. You did get a glimpse of the musical talent of our Maids though. I recommend anything on their RUclips channel, especially live! And of course, thanks to Roger!
You are very welcome and there will definitely be more to come!!!! 😁😁
Who are Band-Maid? That is a far more interesting question than you may realize.
Hahahaha you're not wrong!!! 😂
This is a bit out of Band Maid style as it's a partnership with Incubus. The second part of the song is more Band Maid Style. But Band Maid is a style by themselves. Worth dig in their 120 songs catalogue.
I will definitely be doing some digging 😃😺😃
🤘🤘🤘
😁😁😁💯🙏
Listen to their song hate official live mate
Thanks for the recommendation and hope you enjoyed the video mate 😀😊😀
Strap in this is mellow, try From now on, Hate, Play. Welcome to the Pigeon Hole.
Thank you so much!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Right band, wrong song although I do like this one. This was a collaboration with Incubus. The maids cannot be put in a genre. Unless awesome is a genre?😊
Absolutely!!!! 💯💯💯
"Awesome BANDMAID" IS a genre. I looked it up in the...um..."Official Book of Music Genres" & it definitely says "Awesome BAND-MAID" in my recently amended updated version :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 Damn it somebody's already put it on hold at my library!
@@Kevin6059 Tch. Yeah it's a pretty popular book.😏
Bestie is a fine song, but why choose that as an introduction to Band Maid🎀? I feel Dice, Chose Me, Hate?, Blooming, or a dozen others would have better shown what they're best known for, hard, fast, loud, in your face music!😸
I really try but too much pauses.
Don't worry, this band label will not block your reaction
This was probably the worst song in their entire catalog to introduce yourself to them. This is very atypical of their usual material, which is usually a lot faster, heavier, and more complex, with virtuoso musicianship. This was a collaboration with the guitarist from Incubus, so he had a lot of input into the composition. It is very dumbed down compared to most of their material. However, if you're able to like even this song, then the rest of your Band-Maid journey should go nowhere but up!
I can't wait to check out their other stuff! I will definitely be making more content on them! Watch this space 🚀
So - this amazing band has maybe 100 banger songs and one mediocre . Please listen to something else. Actually whatever. It can only be better than this.
Awesome, I promise I will do 💯💯💯
Wow. You don't even pay attention to what people actually request and just do what you want? No wonder your channel isn't more successful and then reactors like NittPicc show up and have 20k followers in less than 4 months.
That's not very nice.
shut up Jeff 🤦♂
Don't be a dick. It was a nice reaction. Maidiacs generally have a good reputation among reactors, so don't ruin it. Save that for the clueless jerk claiming to have a view from the stage.
