It is a heart warming song. Great reaction to a AWESOME song. I'm also with you on the harmonies. The first time I heard the bridge right before the solo...hair standing on end, especially since they were showing Kanami and Akane singing too. Then to follow those beautiful harmonies with a Saiki build up and 4 bar sustained note in the solo. Guitar Angel Kanami in full Mincho-mode during her solo...I was in my happy place. To cap it, Akane's triplets to transition back to the main melody. Perfection.... Keep on rocking with the Maids. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
@@alexatakesalook Kanami is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. When not on stage, she's easy going and simple, as other members put it, a natural airhead. But put a guitar in her hands and she become a confident musician. Then when she's doing solos, she gets lost in the music and sometimes becomes, again as members describe her, as "aggressive" and "crazy", like Dr. Jekyll switching to Mr. Hyde. In this case, Kanami switching to Mincho-mode or Minchozilla. Scary part is Kanami doesn't remember the crazy things she does when she's totally lost in the music. She once did a axe-kick on one of Akane's cymbals and didn't remember she did that. It is also said she will often ask the other members if she did anything crazy on stage. Check out Ohrenje's channel and there is a 7 part documentary series on the members of Band-Maid. Part 2 of the series is dedicated to Kanami and they have a good example of this. The series sound like a lot, but many reactors have done them as reactions and they all mention how fast the time flies by. Ohrenje and his team does an excellent job of making the videos informative, interesting and entertaining. If you want to watch the entire series, this is the order Saiki - > Kanami - > Akane -> MISA and then finally, a 3 part series featuring Miku, the wise Pigeon who could. PO!🕊 Note: Ohrenje is in the process of updating the documentary series. So there is an old version and a new version on Saiki and Kanami. Both are worth watching.
Sugoi! I agree concerning lead guitarist Kanami "Mincho" Tono. She is easily one of the best guitarists alive and not just because of her incredible playing. Kanami also writes much of BAND-MAID'S music, initially on piano! I've seen BAND-MAID perform twice, and her and her "Besties" are not to be missed. The sheer JOY that they play with is infectious. Arigatou! 🤘🤘 #SurrenderLove #ShareHappyLetsDance
Yay, more Band-Maid! ♥ While I normally tend to avoid superlatives like best (I prefer favourite), I fully agree with your take on Kanami! She has to be one of the best! ♥
This song really does "melt your heart". Think Incubus when you say what the song sounds like. Mike Einziger, of Incubus, collaborated with Band-Maid on this song. He gave Kanami the opening riff and then Kanami wrote the rest. From what I understand also gave them some input on the sound tone.
co-written with Michael Einziger founder of Incubus. also the very first time for Miku to write 100% english. Band-Maid recently opened for Incubus in Tokyo and Mike joined the Maids on stage for the world live premiere of the song. I consider Bestie the polar opposite of Hate? great song that just gets better with every listen. June 12 Band Maid welcome The Warning from Mexico for their first visit to Japan and will perform a joint concert before the Warning finish of the tour with a couple more shows on their own
Best guess (I think) is that the song is about them as a band - and I hope that's true because I love hearing that "will still be doing this with you..." line. That means more Band-Maid!!
Yes , you are right. Kanami truly is Guitar Goddess ❤️ For me..Kanami is the most impressive musician of the 21st Century. Pure genius as a composer and true rock n’ Roll Star on stage 🔥🤘❤️ Lovin’ Band-Maid ❤️💥
Hi Princess Alexa, I know you still new to Band-maid. But if you got time check out their Documentary from ‘Ohrenje”. ( They been together 11 years) You will love this song BESTIE even more after knowing B-M story. Thanks for beautiful reaction for this beautiful song. See u😊❤
Now that ya mention it, that opening and closing riff totally could be a Tom DeLonge (Blink 182) creation, even though it was actually written by Mikey-chan (Incubus. Mikey is what The Maids call him, so it's now and forever "Mikey"). Anyway, Tom DeLonge's OTHER band, Angels and Airwaves, just happens to be one of my favorite bands, along with Band-Maid. So now I've totally confused...even myself. 😂Thanks Alexa! 🕊
the best hard rock band. I think this is Miku's song to the other band members. Kanami is one of the best in fact Kanami and Midori from Lovebites(another all female Japanese band) are my 2 favs right now
Bestie, in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile, was co-written by Michael Einziger of Incubus. MISA's playing and bass tone are setting new standards... and Akane's drumming is so in-the-pocket and distinguishable... and Kanami's solo is Daydreaming masterful! The recording and mix are as enjoyable as the song and beautiful MV! And Miku’s English lyrics are heartfelt. Is Band-Maid a band of fashion-forward, trend-setting Besties? 💞 Thx, Mikey & Band-Maid! FYI - The Maids just released a "Making of Bestie" on their websites where they explain the song and look of their awesome MV. Thx, Alexa!
No need to apologize …. Kanami is not only the best female guitarists, she is one of the best guitarist of all time, a Queen of the Rock guitarists. Certainly, she is royalty and looks like an angel in this video.
Am I not getting your noti's? How did I miss all your vids? I noticed something that Japanese musicians do that I've never seen anybody else do. When someone is soloing, if possible, the other musicians will make themselves small, like kneeling, so the focus will be on the one soloing. You see it when Kanami walks up to Misa while she is soloing in the Hate? live video. As soon as she reaches Misa, she kneels. When I watched a live version of this song performed with Mike from Incubus, he kneeled during Kanami's solo! I thought that was super cool!🤘
Kanami is good technically, plays with amazing feel, and absolutely slays on composition. I love how she pushes herself. I think if she wants to, she could get to Gary Moore levels of pushing and be one of the greats of all time. If you want possibly the best metal guitarist of our time... possibly ever... in technical terms (and also a pretty good composer), check out Hal-ca of the band Asterism. She's absolutely insanely and impossibly good. A combination of skills that I've seen nowhere else, all packed into the frame of a 21 year old 4' 8" tall Japanese woman who stands head and shoulders above the competition.

What is mincho-mode?

@BRO-rh2cr ah okay! I will take a look at that! A couple other people mentioned that documentary!

I'm jealous that you've seen them live TWICE T^T

Best for me personally, but I am also always right lol XD

such a cool collab :)
Not only is Kanami a guitar goddess but she's also the main songwriter, with Miku doing most of the lyrics. She's an absolute genius composer.

The Warning is on my radar!

Thank goodness for that!

Yeah, but she talked over Mincho's solo! LOL!
Yeah, she says that to all the best Japanese female guitarist dressed in white with frilly shoulder wings. 🤘😏🪽
SORRY T^T I am a reactor though in my defense...I must react lol
Kanami is certainly one of the most creative composers and has an incredible work ethic.
You are rightKanami (lead guitar ) is the best female guitar player in the world!!!Thanks for your reaction.
Of course!
Nice catch on the time period. It was co-written with Mike Einziger of Incubus.
What no way!?

Oooo I love a good informative video! I will add it to my list!
