    Good comprehensive video.
    I was trying to explain to a friend why the PDP SD PRO is a better option than the P320 Tactical and this laid out a lot of what I've been telling him.
    The factory PDP trigger shyts on pretty much everything else in the industry and the upgraded trigger on the PDP SD PRO is nothing short of AMAZING!

    Love my PDP. Heavily underrated. Carried Glocks, Springfields, and Sigs. I think the PDP has the best trigger right out of the box and I love the tough serrations of the slide for max grip for inclimate weather.

    Thanks for the informative and entertaining vid. Just purchased this PDP compact and pleasantly surprised with the improved grip and slide serrations, not to mention all my ppq mags work flawlessly. Walther improved the trigger as well, in my humble opinion. Thanks again, just found this channel and impressed with the content. Awesome.

    For me, it was the Modularity and Flexibility of the Sig P320 that sold me. Caliber, Frame, Grip, all can be changed to fit your needs & likes. It's basically the AR15 of Handguns.

    I have a P320 that I put the large X-Carry grip module on it and love it. One of the workers at the range I go to own a Walther PDP Compact and let me try it. Man I fell in love. The ergonomics, grip texture, trigger, and it coming optics ready are all a dream to me. The one I shot had a Vortex Viper on it and that convinced me to look into getting a red dot in general.
    I'm currently in the process of doing more research into the PDP and your video helped a lot. My local Scheels usually has the Walther PDP for sale at $550 and I'm waiting for it to come back in stock to buy.

    For what it's worth, if you get the M17/M18 version of the Sig, either is also optics ready. Also, assuming you live in a state that doesn't restrict magazine capacity, the M17/M18 comes with (1) 17 round mag and (2) 21 round mags. On the other hand, the Walther comes with (2) 18 round mags, and it is currently near impossible to find mags for the full sized (18 round) Walther. If you get the compact version of the PDP, they will take PPQ mags, but the compact uses a 15 round mag.

    I’m a lefty and considering trading in my P320 for a PDP. The slide release for the lefties functions more as just a slide stop. You can’t actually release the slide by depressing it like you can if you’re right handed... it bugs me more and more the more I shoot it.

    • @echosierra9990
      @echosierra9990 2 года назад

      As a fellow lefty, the slide catch/release IS very difficult to use at first. However, after putting a few hundred rounds through it and several slide locks, it’s pretty smooth and easy to use now. Another trick is to ride the slide catch with your thumb when you insert a magazine.

    I think I would have said tge PDP blew it away before I got the P320 Pro. It is that cut and dry owning and shooting both. Overall I would give the better overall and duty sized pistol to the PDP. I have the Compact, but it isn’t really compact. The P320c carries easier. It is also smoother and more chamfered IMO. There is no better break than the PDP. I would call it a very slight edge overall for me because I love Sig’s flat triggers. The break is very light and breaks further forward on mine like my VP9, another choice pistol, you really have nothing to complain about stock trigger wise with either.
    Where I would take issue with your calls is in the stock sights. Adjustable iron (in this case plastic) sights are too many options on a combat pistol. This is where and the only place where Walther cheaped out. I have the P320c Pro that does have a sight plate but a distinct plates and separate dovetailed irons that are still with tritium inserts and a bright green front sight insert like a true glow. These sights are in my opinion as good as any stock night sights and better than most if you asked me. They don’t need replacing and I won’t as long as the tritium lasts. They are quality and quite useable. It is clear that irons are an afterthought and the focus was on the optic with the PDP. That said I really don’t miss knock down plates at 20-25 yards with the irons on the PDP so I wouldn’t complain with the exception that I think all of the premium polymer guns should come good to go with night sights how Sig does it. I suppose you get a free plate that sort of mitigates the issue. Anyway SIg’s stock sights are better without the plate unit which is cheesy.
    Now shooting wise, I will say the PDP is hard to beat and might be the best in a non-metal combat pistol. Certainly hard to beat and I’ve tried most. The VP9 comes close, but here’s where it gets challenging. The PDP is a duty pistol. The P330c is a carry pistol and the levels of accuracy are close. For a chopped carry pistol, the Sig punches above it’s weight class for a 3.6” it 3.7” barrel. I can hit a little better with the PDP, but the Sig is darned close and might even be a tad more consistent in its groupings. I’m really impressed with both. The recoil is also interesting because the bore axis you get with the PDP is hard to beat and the grip texture is next level. But the gun is light and the recoil is a bit abrupt. You feel it. The Sig has a higher bore axis and you get the flip associated with that slide reciprocating, but the gun is heavier for such a chopped pistol and the recoil is smoother. So it is hard to call which gun is more rewarding. I cannot knock the PDP, which upholds Walther’s fine legacy, but the Sig’s performance is so impressive for its size. It punches above its weight class for me. I had a ball running and gunning with it on a tac course. I got hits at 30-40 yards with repetition.
    Looks is not a runaway eith IMO. The Sig takes after the squat beefy appearance of the P226 that doesn’t apologize for being portly. I didn’t like the original big round squeeze ball grip on the original. But the X grip is very simple, elegant and ergonomically pleasing. And the cuts on the slide give the gun a modern elegance. It front and back serrations do their job and are subtle and wind chaff your side. I have not carried the PDP because I haven’t come across a holster for it yet. It is light and the grip is phenomenal and it has the most purpose built non-slip serrations I’ve seen. They killed it, but they are not chamfered like the Sig and there are more edges. I have to call them both ergonomically excellent. The Walther is a tad gaudy for me but they killed it with the performance of this pistol. Probably 500 rounds through the Walther and 300 through the Sig. No failures with either.
    I would say that the PDP is better overall, but the Sig P320c is the better carry gun to me. I agree, get both. Glad I do.

      I'm personally not a big fan of lasers (unless their IR and you've got nods), I'd recommend getting your slide milled and mounting a red dot instead. That being said my go to light is the Surefire X300u. The Streamlight TLR-1 impressed me as well; check my other video 🤟🏾
