I feel like it might be due to being weirdly sandwiched between the game that was the most memorable for most of today's players and the current one. I played 3 a ton but somehow remember very little of it too.
By the way, you can turn off all the store items from displaying in the game in the options. Turn off “enable store” and anything similar to that in the “Game options”.

Also Kevin, you need to use the "gossip" interaction in The Sims 3 more. Unlike Sims 4, Sims 3 will produce ACTUAL gossip after the interaction. You will see exactly what your sims were gossiping about. My Sims 3 sim was gossiping with his husband. After the interaction, a popup came up saying "I heard that Michael Bachelor cheated on his wife!" lol Another time I got a popup saying "Did you know the Landgraabs are stinkin' rich?!" and so on. It is very interesting to see EXACTLY what your sims are gossiping about lol.
I used to play this game religiously for years. It's bonkers the things Kevin comes up with that I have never dreamed of, lol. I love it. Top notch work.
sims 3 is my fave sims game despite is lag. you can get mods to fix the lag but the games badly coded so it's kind of always there but I think it makes it more beautifully chaotic edit: kevin just HAD to pick the world that has the most lag but its okay
ts3 isn't broken, you just gotta deal with some drops & crashes. it's fully playable, it only crashes if you spend hours playing nonstop: you'll be fine if you save/close it from time to time. there are some tricks on yt that enhance the playability a lot as well. sadly, ea pretends ts3 doesn't exist and won't update it since the cash-grab 4 came
It's really tough. "You're basically the same person!" didn't work for me either, when my girlfriend caught me with her sister. Which is crazy because they're best friends for a reason.
I can't tell you how many times I've gone back and watched your older Sims 3 videos, when they go into the future and engineer all those babies. I am loving these videos too!

Just FYI there are fixed versions of the world available, and there are known lots that cause problems you can delete (just look up). It’s a really beautiful world and probably my favorite. Worth a try!

Yeah, the Bonehilda coffin can be tricky to find. It is the easiest to find it in the kitchen section, under the alarms. You can use the coffin to summon Bonehilda the skeleton maid. She cleans, repairs broken objects, and fights burglars. She tries to take care of children and pets, but that part of her coding is broken and she fails most of those tasks. If she has nothing to do she might start using entertainment objects, and even leave the lot to ease her boredom. I once found my Bonehilda at an acrobat show, watching the performance.) If Bonehilda goes AWOL, you can click on the coffin to dismiss her and she will come back home and go into the coffin until she is summoned again.

To get rid of the lag you need to cap your FPS to about 60 (in Nvidia Control Panel or AMD Adrenalin). Then you can set all the graphic settings to high.
The reason I think I never got this chaotic playing sims despite all the expansions I had was probably because loading the game took a solid half hour and by then I’d have no time to play 😂😅 I need to try again soon, maybe my modern pc can handle it
My playstyle of Sims: Making stories for my sims, giving them their own goals and personalities, making long family trees and building a lore for my Sims world as I go. The only time I allow my sims to do "bad" actions such as be a cheater or being mean/bothersome is if I have decided that it's part of their story & personality. Otherwise my sims are for the most part very lawful. Kevins playstyle: Pure unchecked fun chaos. I think with how different Kevin plays sims compared to me I discover new things from him I never thought of LMAO. 👍

You can turn off the shop ads in the game options, that way you are rid of them and you might be able to get better game performance as well, also there's lots of stuff even without mods you can change in your game options and game files to get better performance. I don't know if my original comment is still here because I tried to include a link to the guide I used, there's one on Steam, it's called "The Sims 3 Performance & Bug Fix Guide 2022" and there's a LOT of stuff in there.
You can disable the microtransactions from the settings. It *should* be on the first page that pops up when you open settings, it's something like Enable Shop if I remember correctly.

I used to play Sims 3 all the time, I had several expansions, but not as many as Kevin has unlocked. Visiting the future would have been hilarious with my Sims, I was repopulating my neighborhoods with goofy-faced Sims like Help Me. XD Oh gosh, the Ghost Hunter profession, that one was a neat gameplay mechanic. Sadly my computer would crash half the time I was going through harder ghost hunts. :(
With the ghost hunting job, if you capture I think 10 spirits of the same colour, you can then buy a display platform that can combine the 10 spirits into an urn that has a new ghost sim.

You can fix the lag in Isle Paradiso by deleting the boat houses! I recently figured it out and it has helped A LOT.

There are gig locations for acrobat career path associated with specific neighborhood but can be added via edit town along with any other random lots

I used to play Sims 3 all the time, I had several expansions, but not as many as Kevin has unlocked.
Visiting the future would have been hilarious with my Sims, I was repopulating my neighborhoods with goofy-faced Sims like Help Me. XD
Oh gosh, the Ghost Hunter profession, that one was a neat gameplay mechanic. Sadly my computer would crash half the time I was going through harder ghost hunts. :(
“That’s my neighbor! ... I think he’s following me home!”
No consideration that he may, also, y’know... be going home
With the ghost hunting job, if you capture I think 10 spirits of the same colour, you can then buy a display platform that can combine the 10 spirits into an urn that has a new ghost sim.
