It could be that the radar AA guiding system was locking the hornet instead of the missile. But also if it was locking the missile, maybe it ran out of ammo/temperature. Those cannons cant hold fire for Long because it can melt the barrels

A quick Skim tells you that some 10+ other ships have either been damaged or sunk but most of Russias newer ships havent been sunk only damaged, This is however to be expected. Ukraine does not exactly attack with BB guns. Patrol vessels dont count in on this as they are lightly armed and not meant for combat.

That's why the US Navy alone fires tungsten armour piercing slugs from their 20mm Phalanx. The ground version can't do that, because of the reason you said: so they have self-destruct fuses. At sea, it doesn't matter.

Да, есть у нас хорошая игрушка! Её можно пускать с дальности от цели более 100 км и спокойно идти домой. Одна беда, у неё телевизионное управление. На определённом удалении от морской цели ракета снижается над водной поверхностью на высоту порядка 5 м и оператор ведёт её до контакта, наблюдая по экрану. Некоторые чувствительные люди в момент контакта резко откидывали голову, чем нарушали работу шейных позвонков.😅
