When I found your video of the perfect bead that's when I subscribed! It was like a walk in memory lane of what lead me to the most addictive channel ever! I love your hair!
I’ve been watching you for almost a year now. I love 💗 learning from your videos. My husband got diagnosed with cancer so I started watching videos and doing my nails to save money. You would be surprised how far I’ve come in a year. Love ❤️ love 💕 your videos
Have you ever talked about how to choose a salon? Things to look for in a good salon and warning signs of a bad salon? I'd love to start having my nails professionally maintained but I've heard horror stories about cheap chemicals permanently destroying clients' natural nails and things. It makes me hesitant about the whole process. I'd love to hear your suggestions
I agree.... Horror Stories are common especially around my area because nail techs seem to all be foreigners (nothing against them) who are practicing incorrectly or without permit/license who don’t care what they do to their client as long as they scrape in that cash and dobit the cheapest way possible and I hate that because it makes all tech look bad and leaves a bad taste in your mouth if you’ve experienced it especially as a beginner to nail extensions. I’ve learned a lot from Kirsty and then of course Suzie from Nail Career Education but when I started getting my nails down a little over a year ago I wasn’t as informed as I grew to be by doing research and watching these videos. Upon my first visit to a salon I was not entirely informed on bits and where I went to they were highly questionable and they used a coarse e-file bit on the natural nail which I found out was a big no no. I never went back Then when I had to have my acrylic removed because of my job at the time the salon I went to ripped the extension off with an old nail tip, again a big no no, After the first nail I would have stood up and left had I known how bad that was it had not needed to be done immediately, never went back there either. The third salon I went to for a reapplication of acrylic once I changed jobs I was smarter and asked questions and whilst they were good I asked about maintenance and they said every 2 weeks they’d remove the acrylic by ripping it off instead of just filling it in and told me ai was wrong when I confronted them and asked about soaking it off, so I just never went back, but when I needed a fill I found a salon like ten minutes from my house and I love the nail tech she’s fabulous and I’ve stuck with her. Needless to say I agree with you that this is a topic that really should be talked about for a one stop video to help people looking for techs so they know the dos and don’ts, and what to look for and what to avoid, and whats acceptable and not acceptable, and different ways techs may do a task, and maybe the questions they should ask so those wanting to explore nail extensions don’t go in blind and become injured or permanently scarred.
Kirsty is amazing I'm self taught for the most part, and the rest I learned from watching naio nails. Everything she does is pure perfection!!!!! Kirsty always manages to make me laugh my ass off as well. If i didn't live in the USA I would definitely be going to kirsty to get my nails done.
Hi Kirsty! Could you do a video of all the tools, polishes, brushes, etc. a beginner should have and/or a video of how to clean all your tools and brushes?
I think he has a video about this or something like it just seen it a few days ago I'll see if I can find it and leave a link here brb ruclips.net/video/g_5vs9Fiq3I/видео.html
this information became very handy yesterday when a client came in for a fill and I wasnt ready 😂! Especially the nail started coming down toward! Thanks for these very helpful videos ❤️
I know u wont see that but: Kirsty, I love watching you before I sleep! It just calms me soooooo down. Ure voice is soothing. And I just love youre Artwork so much. Lovley Channel 💋
I love it that you are so detailed. In over 15years that I've done my nails... I've only been satisfied with 3 nails techs. I'm such a stickler when it comes to getting my nails done...I inspect every detail in the midst of getting them done. The first nail, I saw that small spot that was a bit thin and when you got to it, the satisfaction I felt...ahhh. lol. I've since moved away from my nail lady and hardly get mine done anymore, but when I go back to visit friends and family, I always make an appointment with her. And I enjoy 5 weeks of my nails before cutting them off
@Rowen Starchild my nail tech loves me and jokes around with me about it. I say I inspect every detail but did I say I bitch and complain about every little thing? I just choose not to go back. I've walk out plenty of times unhappy. If I'm looking and I'm satisfied, I'm a loyal customer who tips well. I used to drive an hour to get my nails done...almost 2 in traffic for 5 years until she moved away. The one in my old hometown...I was with her for 3 years before I moved. And 2-3 times a year I drive 5 hrs back... I'll make an appointment with her. My bad for being able to notice shitty work and know within 2 weeks, they'll lift...a couple of nails even popping off.
@Rowen Starchild Because she doesn't want to accept subpar work when she's paying for it? There are many mail techs who don't take pride in their work like Kirsty does, and good enough is not good enough for some people.
Yep- I’m teaching myself for these reasons, I’ve tried every nail salon within 20 minutes of me and haven’t found anyone who cares like Kristy does.... I said to hell with the crooked, file burned manicures I got and decided no one would treat me better than I would treat myself
Also I have noticed I did order the nail nails get to try their powder. Now my vision is detailed but I have severe arthritis and I end up using the e-file more than I want to. Naio Nails product is so easy to file it is just fabulous and so I found myself not even needing the e-file because it is so easy to file it is just a fabulous fabulous product and I have tried and all the other ones so ladies if you want a fabulous product I suggest you by naio nails and for the price you're not going to you won't get anything better ever
The purple and yellow would be beautiful for Mardi Gras! I wish we had seen a tutorial on them. Beautiful rebalance, can’t wait to see the finished set.
"We are gonna put gel polish on it so we don't need to bring all the colors out and redo..." and I think, you don't need gel polish on that, it's a bloody perfect blend :O
Kirsty, your videos are so blinking educational!! There's no one else on yt that keeps me so mesmerized when they are doing a service. You really make me want to start doing my own nails...even though I've been with the same nail tech for 18 years or so. While I was watching this one I was wondering about brushes and how you choose a brush and why. Then, I found your video titled How to Prepare a Brand New Brush!! I am literally gob-smacked by you girl!! If I could get to the UK for an appointment with you I'd wet myself!! Ooohhh, Kirsty, how brilliant would that be as a giveaway prize!!?? Keep going girl, you're such an inspiration. Much love from the Netherlands!! xxx
Just wanted to remind that what you see in the video, is actually enlarged a lot in order to make it clearer. Designs, nails and hands look massive on camera, when in reality they are way smaller! But it's true, it is easier to work on big nail beds :)
I’ve orobably learned more from you than my actual teacher. I don’t mean to thro shade at her but we pay all the money for pretty much NOTHING! Well I guess for our license but all we need to do is watch you and anybody can learn from you.
I’m very impressed that she could wear them for 5 weeks without picking and ripping at them. I can’t make it two weeks. I need to do mine every week or twice a week do something so I don’t pick at them. Yes, I’m a nail bitter that doesn’t want to be.
Is there a video of the original set? That looked like luminescent chunks in the acrilic. When you started drilling it, you could see them even more and it was awesome!!
I’m thinking I’ll have to give up doing nails...not my own, I have mastered mine. But I’m doing my girlfriends every month and I’m not getting any quicker. Takes me hours, it’s frustrating. I’m thinking I need to do more than 1 a month to get better but you can’t charge people while your practicing. I think ill try acrygel see if that’s better. Another order with naio nails coming up 👍🏼 best company
There is a practice sheet you can print out and put in a sheet protector and practice on to increase your speed or get a practice hand!!!!! When I went to school the instructor said if you do 50-100 practice nails a day you will drastically increase your speed. Never give up on what you love!
You can! Advertise you're qualified but still perfecting and offer a discounted service. I did that and those clients still come to me, I did my fastest set yet just last week, an hour and 15 mins. Believe in yourself 😉 xxxc
I'm starting out, too and I think you can charge people when you're a beginner. Even if it's only the cost of the product. But that way you can practice more. Don't tell your clients that you take that long. Even if they only come once, you still got to practice a bit more. I'm not just saying this to you, but to myself, too. Problem for me is that I don't have a space for myself, so I visit people at their home. And sitting at someones home for at least 3 hours is not always very comfortable. But I hope my tips help you a bit.
Michelle P Oh no don’t do that don’t stop. Get a practice hand. I use the same kind that young nails uses. Or you can buy full cover tips and get little stands it’s actually nicer to work on practice hands. I think I paid $23 for my practice hand. I love to create new designs on my practice tips and hand to perfect it before I do it to someone. Even Kirsty uses practice tips. You’ll never get faster unless you’re doing it a lot. Keep going!
Are you already licensed? If so you could offer to go to a women's shelter and do them, you could probably count the cost of your products as a charitable donation, not sure about the cost of your time, but those ladies would love to have a little beauty in their lives. Could also advertise that you'll do them for seniors or the disabled for free as you need the practice.
If you put a thin layer of acrylic under the nail after you’ve cleaned it keeps it nice and clean and free from collecting debris. Then there’s no worries about a gross under nail cause there are some out there that are just gross and the acrylic prevents that and clients don’t need to worry about keeping it hydrated or have it cause lifting.
I'm currently studying nail tech, and we were told to only remove acrylics/gels once or twice a year as to not damage the natural nail. I adore you Kirsty and would absolutely love it if you could add your opinion on this? Just curious after you said you only do 3 infills. Ta beautiful ❤❤❤
So why acid or non acid primer? What's the difference or reason for using one verses the other? Love when you tech the technical side. They were beautiful with just the infill.
Kirsty your work is flawless and beautiful!! I'm wondering if you charge clients extra for going longer between fills? It is more work and more product. I used to have my clients on a standing 2 or 3 week schedule, but quite a few of them are wanting to stretch out to 3-5 weeks. Thanks for your amazing videos!!😘
Kirsty would u PLEASE do a tutorial on how u created that magnificent flower & beautifully awesome leaf love them both especially the ripples in the leaf... 💗 DeeAnn
You recently did a video with someone who was a gel technician an she said that some of her customers only ever have backfills, how are they are to maintain structure etc if they only ever have back fills?

Acid based primers are more abrasive and will burn if in contact with skin. Acid-free are gentler and are less of a risk for burning the client. Both work, but I prefer acid based since it seems to work the best. It's always good to have both on hand.
Kristy unfortunately I live in the us and cant visit you. So I was wondering if u could do a video on choosing a good nail tech and how long is too long to go without getting a fill? I've been going every 3 weeks but I notice my nails start to lift after a week or two. I'm thinking that's not good considering that this lady in the video was able to go 5 weeks without lifting.
I'm teaching myself to do my own nails and binging on your videos 😅 can i ask what grit efile bit you used for the removal prep? Also you built ontop of colour, was this coloured acrylic? Thanks 😀
Ugh 😍 I just loveeeee her voice. It’s so satisfying and therapeutic for me anyone else? 😂😭
“You need a bead that lets you move it around but will not run away... kinda like a man “ Hahahaha, best quote ever 😂😂😂😂
Best thing ever 🤣🤣🤣
YES😂😂😂
I would wear the nails just like that with some bling!! It looks like a cute ombré!
was just thinking this myself tbh
Yeah i know. She is like = ignore the design. It doesn't matter. Me = that looks awesome!
Was going to say the same looks really nice x
How do they do infils with diamonds on them

Didn't know you had a degree in construction work too Kirsty lol demolition of the nails! Beautiful as always ma'am!
I think the fade is actually really pretty on this set and could totally be left like that and not painted!!!!!!! Beautiful work as always!!!!!!!
I know, right! The final result is already so beautiful! And thanks for your feedback :) Much appreciated!
Nikki Black agreed! I was thinking the same. And I done that before also on myself
I’m a Realtor idk why I’m watching this 🤦🏻♀️
Soo satisfying
I wish my nails could be blessed with your talent. So hard to find good nail techs that really do take the time and care about their clients nails
Margarita Gonzalez I’m the same way! I take my time and make sure everything is done right!. :) . And clean and as perfect as possible!

Your hair looks amazing!!
LOVE your hair here!
It’s so satisfying cracking off stones
Amazing job!!!!! Enjoyed 👍🏽
Happy birthday Kirsty! I would have never guessed 40! You look amazing love! 😘💕 these nails are beautiful. Do you have a video of the original set?
I’m very impressed that she could wear them for 5 weeks without picking and ripping at them. I can’t make it two weeks. I need to do mine every week or twice a week do something so I don’t pick at them. Yes, I’m a nail bitter that doesn’t want to be.
That yellow 💛💛💛💛💛💛💛
Awesome video as always!!!
Is there a video of the original set? That looked like luminescent chunks in the acrilic. When you started drilling it, you could see them even more and it was awesome!!

Keep going!

Beautiful honey!💅❤
Brilliant!
#NotificationSquad anyone? :> Love you!!
The design you removed was so beautiful. It reminds me of the ones you did (I think on Jay Jay) like the designer shoes?
I love your hair!!!!
Thank you! ♥️
Wizard Kirsty strikes again btw belated happy birthday 🎂🎂xxxx
Perfect!👍❤
Awww thanks!
You rebalanced those nails so beautifully..they look lighter☺
Love your hair 😍😍😍😘😘😘😘
Thanks! ♥️♥️
❤️❤️❤️ your videos! Thanks!
We need to see more of Fay, she’s hoot
She is a funny one :)
So why acid or non acid primer? What's the difference or reason for using one verses the other? Love when you tech the technical side. They were beautiful with just the infill.

💗 DeeAnn
I've never been this early before. Amazing
Aaawww thanks so much! 😘💞
Love!!
Did she do a video on her set of nails they are beautiful
Kirsty! My acrylics won’t stay on after a week! I’ve been two places recently and they always have one or two popping off after a week!
bravo ces magnifique très jolie bravo gros bisous Martine 👍👍👍👏👏👏💅💅💅😘😙👄👄❤
I love it💞💞💞💞
Beautiful 🌺🌿💅💅💅💅💅
You recently did a video with someone who was a gel technician an she said that some of her customers only ever have backfills, how are they are to maintain structure etc if they only ever have back fills?
Beautifull!!!
Thank you! 😘💞
When she filed the natural nail underneath I was over here blowing the nail dust away lol
I love all of your videos!!! What type of brush are you using in this video?
Hi Kirsty, what’s the difference between using an acid-free primer and using an acid-based primer?
Ellie Wahl from what I’ve found acid based is for extra oily or nails that go a long time between fills, it should also never touch the skin
Acid free is more gentle and should be enough for the average client who comes in every 2ish weeks
Lol at least that’s what I’ve learned from RUclips!
Acid based primers are more abrasive and will burn if in contact with skin. Acid-free are gentler and are less of a risk for burning the client. Both work, but I prefer acid based since it seems to work the best. It's always good to have both on hand.
Perfect explanation, thank you! :)
That's a good brush. It appears full even at the top; I have pointy tipped ones myself but they don't retain their fullness at the end :/
Great tips....however, do you use a new file every time?
What made you switch to acid based primer? You were using non acid primer before? Or am I mistaken?
Hi Kirsty, where are you files, buffer and brush from? LOVE watching videos, I’ve learnt so much from you 😊😊 xx
4:00 I always wondered why nail techs didn’t soak the nails when removing the dead skin around the cuticles. It makes sense now.
I'm teaching myself to do my own nails and binging on your videos 😅 can i ask what grit efile bit you used for the removal prep? Also you built ontop of colour, was this coloured acrylic? Thanks 😀
I love the sound of you hand filing, am I a weirdo? Lol
No, you are not! 😍💅its like ASMR 😂
Where can I get your fills u use in this video. U use them at beginning.♥️♥️💅🏼 your awesome
I always love your hair!! Do you do it yourself or do you have it done?
Cool!
