Sigma has done this since 2008 with their dp1 and dp2 cameras. Later they had 4 cameras dp0 to dp3 which where 21, 28, 45 and 75mm. It is so nice to swap fast between the cameras to take photos compared to swapping primes all the time. Good to see that Ricoh also does this now. The 40mm is interesting, my wife has the GR III, but I think she finds it too wide. So having a GR III and a IIIx would be nice

Perhaps just take a breath and pace your pieces to camera a little more. Hope you don’t mind the feedback, and thanks again for the video
Did they fix the dust issues? The earlier versions are known for getting dust on the sensor. And why not make it weather sealed? It's still missing usb charging, tiltable screen and a decent manual focus. The lens is great though in the center. The edges could improve. The flexibility would tilt me towards the Canon G1X III. 40mm is perfect for me! Over the past two years, I have been using my Voigtländer 40mm on my Leica a lot, like… all the time a lot. Now if this camera was weather sealed, it would be perfect.
Hi, I need some advice for a "definitive" family camera that brings out images with a certain three-dimensionality focused more on portraits of my fast-moving children. I currently have a Nikon z50 16-50 and 50-250 (I am only displeased with the small limited af area in Af-c and the lack of a 70-300 for football matches) and sometimes it hurts me to take my bag with me in contexts to go out with my family and to the sea. I need a compact camera that can be attached to a belt loop or that fits into a large pocket! I am undecided between the gr III x or fujifilm x100v or leica d-lux 7 I am looking for the most creative and fun camera that will entice me to take it with me regardless, thanks.
@@mirkoregina8733 I think it’s all about having realistic expectations. Shooting football soccer I believe you are talking about takes great skill and a camera that can focus fast and shoot fast and can follow the soccer player you are trying to shoot. Looking for compact camera goes against this idea. Compact anything whatever it is causes compromises. Think about it this way. A camera has both computer parts and physical parts. The computer parts can be a processor which someone creates to figure certain things out. One thing it can try to figure out is focus. The sensor you have now is limited mostly in the center. But what happens when it’s off center. The camera then has limitations that limitations could be something physical because the manufacturer can’t or doesn’t put sensors on that part of screen. The lens is also physical the camera can calculate everything fast and send it to the lens. But then what if the motor is slow. How can it keep up with the data it gets. It can’t. Camera people decides certain thing ahead of time. Let’s say they decide this camera can only cost 799. It’s got to do this and that. They do there best with the money they can spend to create this camera based on how many they hope to sell. If the camera cost 799 maybe they are only willing to spend 200 on parts and 50 on labor. Then they spend money on promotion, shipping etc and still hope to make profit. This is why higher end cameras have to charge more because the manufacturers have to spend more time and take risk to sell these more unique cameras
There is no perfect camera. You can’t just say I want something small and it does all these things. That’s not the way the world works. If it was that easy then someone would have created it already and there wouldn’t be these many models. Small cameras are for shooting things close. 3-7 feet at most. Dslr or interchangeable mirrorless can do better job. Big big cameras that you see pros carry and bigbig big lenses is what you need to do football games. That’s why none of those pros carry small cameras. You need big to house big motors. Big processors. And all the fancy glass to get enough light to stop motion

The Fuji is a lot bulkier and pricier I believe, than this camera mind, if more “beautiful” to look at.
You can always get the original GRIII with the 28mm lens and crop to a 35mm equivalent field of view, it would still leave you with almost 16 megapixels. It actually has a built-in 35mm crop mode that presumably shows the 35mm-equivalent image frame on the display and only captures the cropped data from the sensor, saving space on your card. The original GRIII has a 35mm-equivalent crop mode which makes 15.5mp images, which is usually plenty, so a 35mm lens wouldn't have made a huge amount of sense, whereas 40mm is different enough to be worth having a separate product. Incidentally the GRIII also has a 7.6mp 50mm crop mode, and the GRIIIx has 50mm and 71mm equivalent crop options with the same reductions in resolution as the GRIII's 2 crops.
