So many GECs, so little time! Camillus was the brand that really got me into knives. Still knives I seek out. Camillus was the knife makers' Knife maker. They made knives for Buck, Case, Klein Tools, Sears, nd so many other companies. That italic Camillus tang dates the knives to the 1970s, Pete. The last knife with the double lines was made in the 1990s-2000s. Gorgeous knives. I got hooked on Camillus because of the knives they were making for the military and Boy Scouts.
Great video bud! I couldn't agree more about the old Camillus Stockmans brother they are top notch. You have some beautiful examples there. Have a Blessed day!
Fantastic Camillus trio Pete! First two were from the late 70s into the 80s. Last one was between 1989-2007. My stockman is from the 60s or 70s, and looks identical to the first two you showed. They're jigged delrin is probably the best I've seen.
Camillus knives are some of the best USA Blades you can get for the $$$. They OEM'd for so many other brands, it was crazy!! They did so much for so many other USA Brands.. Thanks for giving these the attention the deserve!!
Wonderful carry pieces! Today I’m carrying a Remington stockman that was made by Camillus, and I absolutely agree they are hard to beat as far as stockman knives are concerned👍Cheers, buddy!
Still on the floor !!! Ha ha . Love those camillus knives ,, I ‘discovered ‘ camillus after they just closed . WHAT A COMPANY! I spent a lot of time on the blade forums getting educated. Plus talking to former employees at the blade show … corresponded with the late Tom Williams ( know as the camillus historian ) . Yeah you are right bout the construction . Loved your thoughts on these . Made me smile from ear to ear. My absolute favorite knives , carried it for ten years plus was a camillus 5 inch finger grove lock back . One year wonder . Only person that did a review on it was in Spanish on utube .. some respected knife guys - said it was the Cadillac of the 110 type . I had my old ‘buddy ‘ out last nite telling my wife : just hold my old knife ( no jokes) ,, check this out!!! She said u showed it to me b/4 … I know! We both carry Spyderco delicas ,, but she just isn’t as CRAZY bout knives as me .
OPPs egg on my face … was goin through some of your old vids ( being a camillus fan) … and I read my old reply ! The camillus I was referring to actually is a Sears craftsman. ( made by camillus ) it was my best friend for all those first years working. Ceramic rods were the new thing back then . I use a wicked edge now that was gifted to me ( older gentleman downsizing ) . But if I wasn’t using those rods - I was using wet sanding paper on old thick escalater glass . My back up was a 194 old timer ,, man taking the carbon steel through the grades up to 2000 grit 😎👍🏻👍🏻 knew a woodworker who sharpened his plane blades with that system. I ended up over restoring some westerns to a mirror finish with wetsanding paper n then polish … perfect job when one wants to work out life frustrations ! Only thing with a mirror finish I’m looking at serious looking guy lol!
If you going to have a problem too many knives is a good one to have. Hey there Pete how are you Buddy? I love Camillus and they made knives for so many brands they definitely knew what they were doing. These are beautiful Thanks For sharing them.
