It's criminal that only those who know give him the credit he deserves. Most just remember his insane scoring ability.

He won Defensive Player of the Year and MVP at the same time... which is unheard of.

I'm pretty sure he led the league in scoring, AND steals that same year, too. It was unbelievable. His second (?) year in the league, he averaged thirty-five points a game!

@@FortessofShredhis accomplishments the season you’re referring to, the best individual season of all time:
      MVP
      DPOY
      Scoring Title
      Steals Title
      Dunk Champion
      ASG MVP
      WS Leader
      Led all guards 1.6 blocks/game
All in the same season, without another all star on the roster. He’s still the only DPOY to average 30+ and he averaged 35ppg that season.

Being his height and having the vertical he had made all his moves in the air seem like they lasted forever. Plus pay attention to how big his hands are. The way he could manipulate the ball in the air with just one hand was insane.

Take the dunks out... everyone knows MJ was electric when it came to dunks... What made him amazing were his "circus" shots. That is why he isnt getting blocked even in today's game. He had SO MUCH CONTROL of his body and ball while in the air. He would float past his peak, where others shoot, and then on the way down spin in the air and make some kind of crazy shot putting a lot of english on the ball. So many college kids got benched trying to emulate them. There was an era of college when all the kids thought circus shots were the way to go because they wanted to be like Mike, but only Mike made them as consistently as shooting an 8' jumper.

What people fail to recognize in the GOAT debate is defense…he was the best player on both sides of the ball majority of his career:
    DPOY
    3x Steals Leader
NBA record 9x 1st-team all defense
Most blocks/game at the guard position in NBA history
And he just so happened to be the most dominant offensive threat the game has ever seen 🐐

The Jordan Rules were used by other teams besides the Pistons, such as The Knicks, Pacers, Cavaliers, Heat, and the Magic (Shaq and the crew)…..as tough as the Pistons were, MJ still averaged 37.8 points per game, and sometimes MJ would get hot, according to what Isiah Thomas said in an interview…🎤🔥💪
