Yeah, I'm sorry, you do not have to do any of this. Just remove the back seat by lifting hard on it. Remove 10mm (Four of them) disconnect all the plugs and (1:14 of video) use a 17mm wrench and a 14 mm wrench 17 counter 14 just holds the other part in place. Use a 7mm socket on the clamp (the thing that looks like a giant hose clamp) and loosen it all the way and slip it over. Disconnect all the hoses and connectors from the bottom side of lid. Grab fuel pump and twist counter clockwise and it comes out.
Hey there man wondering if you’re still around here if you are a great was wondering where did you get that if you think with everything installed in it
Wow that's a lot of work, I hope you actually replaced it. Did you have to cut any lines coming to/from the Fuel Tank? This M56 community is missing a good fuel tank replacement video
Oh my oh my... i almost did what you did. Thanks for sharing. I won't be touching that connector anymore. But how does the actual pump come out of the tank!?
@@Unmannedair This SULEV tank is not the good tank. In the video you can see the left cover is not removable. There for the left sending unit can not be replaced. 2 very important tips for replacing the fuel pump on this tank. (1) When you are disconnecting the right sending unit, do not pull on the wires from the sending unit. this will ruin it. you will know this when your gas gauge only reads 1/2 when full. If this happens, the right sending unit is replicable. (2) Connecting the 6 wire plug on top of the tank. the plug should just drop into place if correct. If its not correct you will hear a click when pushing down. that click is the tab breaking off. It would be a good idea to see if the tab had not been already broken. If they have, then make sure the 2 big wires on the plug match with the big wires under the lid. THIS IS A TRICKY ONE. Good luck

I'm at the last step and grabbing the fuel pump and twisting isn't releasing the clips. Do I need a special tool for this?? Please advise.
@atouchofstyle8662 I'm on the same boat lol I can't get thr fuel pump out the tank lol
@@MrEcortez16 Its SULEV. With Sulev version, the fuel pump is sealed. You need to change entire gas tank to replace fuel pump
@@뭐하지오늘하루는 not sealed, the pump has room to come out, it's just locked in by a collar in the tank, it's a pita to do
@@MrEcortez16 gas tank with two caps is for n52, not n51 sulev engine.
Why you changed the whole tank only just a plate you can change
Remove the back seat next time, find 2 covers access to pumps
Not how SULEV cars work bro
Sulev has only one pump
How did you take off that black cord that is like round and on the fuel pump
SULEV warranty covers fuel pump
Yup
This is prob before knew about the warranty or lives in a state that doesn’t cover the sulev warranty
Where do you find part
Hey there man wondering if you’re still around here if you are a great was wondering where did you get that if you think with everything installed in it
What fuel pump is this? I need the same one can’t find it
Did you ever find it?
Do you still need it?@@copax3846

Do you know the tool size needed to remove strap around the cap ?
Why replace the gas tank rather than the pump itself etc? Did I miss something?
How do you just remove the fuel pump
Oh my oh my... i almost did what you did. Thanks for sharing. I won't be touching that connector anymore. But how does the actual pump come out of the tank!?
If I remember correctly, You twist it to the Left and it pulls out.
If you break the male connector on the pump just buy a new fuel pump module with the new fuel pump
Where can I find instructions on removing the brake lines I can’t find anything on that. Any help is much appreciated thank you.
Oh boy am fuckkkk 😂😂😂😂😂
IM HAVING THIS EXACY SAME PROBLEM WITH MY FIRST CAR. GUESS I SHOULD'VE DONE SOME RESEARCH BEFRE HAND. ANYONE WILLING TO DO THIS FOR ME ?
That plug is crazy as shit
You don't have to do all that to remove that part..this guy shouldn't be giving advice on how to work on this car
Is it true it is under the back seat on a 2007 BMW 328i Sulev N51 model? Can I change the pump from there?
@@kyleturney1175 yes. You don't think BMW would do all that to change a sensor do you... You can remove the whole pump that way.
