Aha the first Christmas Advert I've seen, Deep and Crisp and Even indeed, love it. kit looks incredible for a 1/72 - hell,it looked fab at 1/144 too mind you. Brill Till whenever you get round to building it. Thanks for the review, Good King Wensislas last looked out....
Hey Jamie, what a fantastic looking kit ar 1/72 scale, so many parts - detail is wonderful, good luck with the build will be amazing to see the finished model, cheers Liam
Ooh now! I have on pre-order Takom's 72nd Akagi deck and Island, -which will require AC to make it look right of course. I have the Tamiya A6m2 and Airfix B5n1, but - I assume it was around on 7th dec '41 - would this look better than my ancient old Airfix Val... Thx for the sprue tour Jamie, much appreciated. *Edit* No, seems it was army only; drat! *Edit #2* That's what Clear-prop needs to do then; an brand-new mould D3a Val!
Hi Jamie, great review as usual, love the Modelling Cafe. I'm sorry but this kit would be beyond me - I couldn't do it justice, how many modellers could? Six parts for a 1:72 machine gun! I can barely get a one piece item from the sprue without snapping the barrel. Also, why do manufacturers insist on supplying detail that will never be seen? Is it because someone might want to open up the fuselage or just because the builder 'knows it's there' surely the money involved would be better spent elsewhere (Airfix Vulcan is a classic example). What do you think?
Looks very nice. I've got the 1/48th scale version which is by Wingsy not Dora Wings. I've just finished the 1/72nd A5M2b and what I like about Clear Prop! is they simplify very little from the 1/48th scale versions.

Fantastic! I have this in my stash (along with the 1:144 and Wingsey 1:48). They need building asap;-)
I'm looking forward to my build too
Good luck building this- I tried and nothing seemed to fit. Looking forward to you giving it a go. All the best, Tom.
yeah those clear prop models are not for beginner level guys ...
I've heard some people have had issues, hopefully mine will be ok

The Ki 51 was an Imperial Japanese Army bomber aircraft & Never used by the IJ Navy.
A 1:72 Val would be lovely

The amount of parts didn’t bother me as much as the fit issues. Real nightmare.
You need patience young Padowan...!
I'll see how mine goes together in due course mate
