I dunno what other people thought but for me Kingdoms of Amalur felt like a Fable game in a few ways and while it did not have the Britishness and the Humor the way it played just made me think...Fable
Amalur, with all it's flaws, is one of my top favorite and most played games for that very reason. I found it searching "games like Skyrim and fable" and I literally fell in love with it from the moment I began moving the character cuz it felt so smooth~ Then the many familiar and personal fave voice actors. I wish the game was better than it was but was ecstatic when they remade it and hope it means we could get a....hopefully better sequel. Unfortunately the way recent games have gone have me doubt though. Too many greedy people ruining gaming. PS. Need more chakrams in games! Even when I didn't want to use magic I still couldn't resist adding points just to be able to use chakrams. They are my fave weapon in it and being a jack-of-all-trades felt so satisfyingly good! I always thought KOA felt like if Fable 1 got Fable 2's combat system, but kept the depth and timeline of Fable 1. Similarly Blades of Time feels like a Fable TLC spin-off. Plays like Fable 2 (x is melee, y is guns) and it has a heroes guild in it. Just a lot more linear.
Loved the property economy system in fable and loved the choices like either deciding to build an orphanage or a brothel or keeping mill fields nice or turning it into a quarry more of that.

I don't remember many titles doing this kind of stuff back in the day. Now it feels almost commonplace to drop a trailer for a game years in advance. VTM Bloodlines 2 did this. Bannerlord did this somewhat. Elder Scrolls 6 did this. Skull and Bones did this. Fable 4 did this.

I'm hoping it's either traditional Fable like generic (non verbal) character and you can customize them and get fat and ugly from gameplay or I wouldn't mind a "create your own character" if they're not voiced characters. I really dont care how long it takes, as long as it comes out good. I get everyone wants the new Fable now, believe me I do to, but in order for games to become successful they need time or else it's just going to get bad reviews & feel rushed. People just don't seem to get that, but then again, it better be worth taking this long to make it because I want the game to feel like it's Fable. Most of these games were announced the same time as Fable in 2020. ALL of these games are already released. We don't need to know "where the hell are PlayStation games" from 2020 like Fable. In all honesty i think its gone back a few stages in development because the trailer wasn't well received. The key thing missing from it was the original working class british feel and the atherian type lore. Felt closer to terry pratchet if anything.
Even if fable 4 was coming out, i would've never gotten it due to their backlash for fable 3. Lies like that would never make me play the next game. I do love state of decay 2 and cant wait for it in the later years. For now, im gonna play some warframe on the xbox.

Fable the Lost Chapters was still the best. I think the problem with 2 & 3 while 2 was good. They strayed too far away from what made the 1st game so fun.

Where are any games that were promised years ago. I'm starting to doubt of their existence. What's the point in owning a new console as I've not even seen any decent games for them to be honest. Most decent games are last generation games and before.
Like all of Xbox's 1st party games announced in 2019 and 2020 like Fable here.......... SERIES S is what happened. And when current gen only games do finally release like Redfall, Starfield or Forza 8 they are not running at native resolutions, there is no 60fps target option or they are just generally an underwhelming game visually for a this gen game overall.

I really dont care how long it takes, as long as it comes out good. I get everyone wants the new Fable now, believe me I do to, but in order for games to become successful they need time or else it's just going to get bad reviews & feel rushed. People just don't seem to get that, but then again, it better be worth taking this long to make it because I want the game to feel like it's Fable. Maybe put in whatever Peter said he was gonna do in the franchise, but never did.

I'm glad of the last trailer, because now i have zero hype and zero expectation for a game that doesn't even looks like Fable. And that's a good thing, because the game could only be better, and i can live peacefully without craving for news, because i don't care really much anymore

Most of these games were announced the same time as Fable in 2020. ALL of these games are already released. We don't need to know "where the hell are PlayStation games" from 2020 like Fable. THIS is what the video is referring to. JUST STOP making excuses for Phil and Xbox already, its 2024.
This doesn't even include all the MLB games released since then or remakes (TLOU Part 1) and remaster/PS5 ports (Death Stranding, Uncharted etc) and 3rd party/collaboration games like Rebirth or Stellar Blade.

In all honesty i think its gone back a few stages in development because the trailer wasn't well received.
The key thing missing from it was the original working class british feel and the atherian type lore. Felt closer to terry pratchet if anything.

Fable 1and 2 were good fable 3 was just a property simulator.
The fact that no one involved with any of the original Fable games does not inspire confidence. Same with the Frankenstein vaporware mess that is Perfect Dark. Microsoft buys IPs, purges the actual talent that made the IPs good, and parades a cheap imitation around like the real thing.

I'm so sick of these fucking mid-gen souped up consoles getting released and then developers using them as the standard whilst completely ignoring first gen consoles. Consumers shouldn't be forced to by the same console twice per generation--if Microsoft wants to make more money, actually make good games and release them.

Fable the Lost Chapters was still the best. I think the problem with 2 & 3 while 2 was good. They strayed too far away from what made the 1st game so fun.

Like all of Xbox's 1st party games announced in 2019 and 2020 like Fable here.......... SERIES S is what happened. And when current gen only games do finally release like Redfall, Starfield or Forza 8 they are not running at native resolutions, there is no 60fps target option or they are just generally an underwhelming game visually for a this gen game overall.

It was formally announced in 2020 and there was a tweet in 2021 from a staff member celebrating 4 years worth of work on Fable 4
Forza horizon 5 got released in 2021 there’s no way fable entered full development before then.
