Great tips Josh. I'm one of those people that have success on fb. 90% of my sales are from adds i run. I use the feature of the 50 mile radius and place over upscale towns. I definitely think you try again in the future. Thanks for sharing.
Yea I think the difference is our demographics. My area is about 10k people where as yours is a bit larger. I’m for sure going to try it again in the future. I’ll try again about a week before Mother’s Day and definitely the month before Christmas.
Thanks Josh I'm about to give selling on the marketplace a try so I'll for sure use these.
Good luck!
Great tips, thank you, Josh! I haven't done much to promote my wares beyond word-of-mouth, which has gone...poorly. Keep the videos and tips coming!
Keep at it! Christmas time is always best for sales so keep that in mind.
Great advice. Thanks!
Thanks I appreciate it!
Great tips Josh, hint hint, the many of the same tips work for promoting videos on RUclips...
Very true!
Great tips! A lot of things I would have never considered!
👍
Sharing this with my sister
Thanks I hope she enjoys it!
Great tips. Thanks 👋🙋♂️
Your welcome!
Good tips. Thanks. I try to do many of the same things with RUclips to get people to see my "products" aka my videos. I am sure you do the same. I have not sold on FaceBook before so I may give it a try.
👍
Hey Josh, great video! Really hits some key points. Keep it up brother!
I’m wondering, though, if u mark items as sold and then renew them, does this effect ur tax info? Ie, if the IRS looks at ur FB sales and sees all these sold items but they aren’t reflected on ur tax forms, could that cause a problem?
When I mark as sold I always choose the selection (I would rather not answer) I’m honestly not worried about it. If you are instead of marking sold you could just delete your listing and then start a new listing. I’ll definitely have to do some more thinking on this, but right now I’m not worried about it.
@@GraffWoodshop Thanks! What kind of payment do u accept on FB and do u do shipping?
Scott I just signed up for shipping a couple days ago. I haven’t had a sale yet, but several messages so we will see what happens there. (Obviously I’m only shipping smaller things) as far as payment goes I accept cash PayPal and Venmo. I have been meaning to download cashapp as well but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
@@GraffWoodshop Josh, any way I could message u directly? I’m just starting my woodworking business and I have some questions that might be boring here
No problem either message me on Instagram or email me at graffwoodshop@gmail.com
Thanks for the video! All these tips are very helpful. When you list your woodworking projects do you use a personal account? Or would you say to use an account based solely off woodworking?
I just use my personal account.
Hey Josh, just listed some items on marketplace and I’m confused by a couple of things. First, almost everyone talks about the hashtag window, where u can hashtag a variety of words that help prospective buyers find your items (I listed a snare drum last year and the hashtag feature was there). For some reason it’s not there anymore. Have u ever experienced this? Second, there’s no place for payment options. How did u handle that? Thanks!
Hi Scott! I believe they have done away with the hashtag feature but they do have a place for tags. (Same exact idea though). As far as payment goes for local pickup I accept cash or PayPal or Venmo. That is not handled through Facebook for local pickups. I would say 90% of my local pickups are cash. The rest I have scan my Venmo or PayPal app for payment when I meet them.
For shipping on FB marketplace I’m still experimenting and learning. I’m hoping to have a video out on it in a few months once I have some more insight on that end of things.
@@GraffWoodshop Do u include payment info in your item description?
I don’t. I just handle that via messenger after someone asks about the item. Some people do say “I accept cash PayPal and Venmo” or something along those lines. In my area people assume if they are buying on marketplace that they will use cash and if they happen to not have cash they usually ask me what else I accept.
@@GraffWoodshop Thanks!
Delete the post. Dont mark it sold.
