- Hi friends! I realized I worded a sentence in this video poorly, so lemme clarify:
“Get in the Water” and “Not Sorry For Loving You” are NOT CUT!!! I meant to say that people have heard cut drafts of songs like “In Vain” or “Appetite,” which were the songs that captured the same moments as “Get in the Water” and “Not Sorry For Loving You” BEFORE those songs existed!! 🙌🏼💙💙💙 :)))

The more I learn about the cut songs of Epic, the more I realize Jorge’s process is basically
Step 1: create fun boppy song
Step 2: “yeah but what if we added more angst?”
Step 3: rewrite with more angst and drama
Step 4: repeat steps 2 and 3 until perfection
To be fair that's how most published authors do this. Source: many lectures of Michael A Stackpole, whose entire methodology is to heap pain upon the characters until just after the audience can't take it anymore.

I looked up “Let Me be Your Light” and listened to it right after “The Underworld.” Don’t do that unless you want to cry-because it makes Polites’ part in “The Underworld” hurt so much more. I’d love to hear it in its own saga!

Excuse me, rap battle between Athena and Aphrodite? I must hear this. I imagine Athena disses Aphrodite for her horrible weaving skills (there is a canonical myth where they duke it out and Aphrodite fails horribly) and then Aphrodite retaliates how she feels so bad for the poor Athena who could never enjoy the happiness that comes from loving someone, even in a platonic way, to which Athena then responds that she actually does have friends (Telemachus, son of Odysseus).

I laughed a little when that song popped up. The cut version makes it seem more like Odysseus is just ... perfectly fine with being a monster. No internal turmoil over anyone's death.

I would love to have a Forgotten Saga one day in the far future but I also understand having “sketches” of the beginnings of this epic journey and those are precious and private. You’re right. They’re very raw and thrown together being the basis of an idea, but they’re beautiful in that way - and keeping them to yourself is completely the way to go at times. Whatever you feel Mr Jalapeño, I look forward to seeing what’s next for this incredible project

As you noticed, most of the Epic cut songs are in my list but I can't help it, I feel like each and every one of them has the potential to become bangers even if some of them are a bit out of place in the universe of Epic that we know today. I've tried to filter down to those I really wanted to be in a cut song saga by putting them in bold text but there are still so many 😂😅 There would be probably enough to make 2 or 3 cut songs saga and I know this is a lot huge amount of work because for some of my proposition I'm basically asking you to create entire songs because they were scrapped early on but then again, like I said, I'm delusional
Anyways, Jorge, I don't even know if you'll see this comment or if you do, if you will even consider what I propose in it but just know that whatever you decide to do, I will be completely satisfied with it and it will still be fire because it comes from the one and only Mr.Jalapeno ❤ 🔥🌶🌶🌶🔥 ❤
