    I’ve mostly shot 1911s and CZ pistols over my 5 years of owning guns now but my first gun I ever bought was a glock 45. I never really liked it so I sold it a while back. Well earlier this year I wanted to get a duty style polymer gun but couldn’t decide between the P320, PDP, or the P10F. Well lo and behold I went to the Echelon test fire at my local Range USA and won myself a free Echelon in the raffle! I absolutely love it! It was truly a blessing to get exactly what I wanted for free and for it to be an excellent product!

    I bought one today and shot 150 rounds. It's really a lot like an improved glock. It has a very similar recoil impulse, which is a good thing in my opinion as for me, glocks shoot great. But the Echelon has better stippling, better slide serrations, better controls, a better trigger, and a better optics mounting system. It really is a great pistol.

    There are so many amazing handguns that have come out the last several years that offer a lot more than a Glock offers. Yes, Glock has been around for I believe over 35 years now and they are reliable and have a lot of after market support. But you can get other handguns that are a more modern design, more options out of the box, are just as reliable and at a better price. I like Glocks like everyone else but I think Springfield hit it out of the park with this one.

    Honestly the pistol the Echelon deserves to be paired against is the P320. The P320 was essentially Sig trying to take the P250 and turn it into something that would work for the trials, and with that they overlooked some things that resulted in an unsafe firearm. When Sig designed the P365 they used a different safety mechanism, and actually had the time to design a striker fired FCU pistol from the ground up.
    HS Produkt wasn't first, but the question now is did they do the FCU pistol best. It really seems like they took aspects from each manufacturer and packed it into one package.

      @@Witham1836Exactly. I think the new Echelon is going to be a great platform providing no nasty surprises pop up surrounding the reliability of it. Having said that it obvious that the Glock platform has bee a good “hand fit” for millions of users. I don’t gravitate towards some of Glock’s models but the Gen4 G19 has fit quite well in my hand and it shows up on targets.
      I’ve been a fan of the CZ75 platform for years and when the P10C became available I was giddy about getting my hands on CZ’s first serious effort at a polymer striker pistol. At first I thought that the ergos were so good that my shooting was going to improve markedly. Long story short, the P10c is long gone and my G19 is still likely be the first one I grab for going out the door. I admit that I am quite interested in the new Echelon and I want it to sell very well because if it does SA will be more inclined to offer a .45acp variant with 13 round and 16 round mags.

    Really like the offhand thumb index point. Textured and concave with a lower ledge almost a budget gas pedal. Combine with the offhand upper texture (which more guns should have) recoil control should be good. Wish more guns would ditch the one-hand shooting thumb cutout and make the grip panel flat top to bottom or better yet have the upper portion of grip (offhand meat portion) flair out slightly.

  • @archiebunker3654

    These days the only handguns I buy and shoot are for the purpose of concealed carry. Based on that, the absolute top attribute I require in the guns I carry concealed is reliability. I shoot most every gun I've shot from various makers plenty well enough, so how I shoot the gun is a matter of very slight, minuscule variations. So my ability to shoot the gun ranks with me as a distant second. I understand many guns CAN be reliable. But for the reason I stated above, I know without any doubt my Glocks will work whenever I need them to, so most times I'm carrying one on my belt. Glad to see more makers coming out with solid platforms though. Thanks for the video.

    • @RedDawnReadiness
      @RedDawnReadiness 11 месяцев назад

      Which Glock do you carry for concealed ? I would say in my option the 48 is the best concealed carry Glock. Or the 19 and next the 26 but the echelon is for if you carried a Glock 17 as that is it compatible size wise and it kicks the Glock butt in every way and for the money everyone usually gets a Glock and instantly modifies it this gun is perfect without having to do anything at all to it

    • @archiebunker3654
      @archiebunker3654 11 месяцев назад

      @@RedDawnReadiness Yep, you nailed it, usually a 48 super nice for IWB carry. Plus mine's bone stock except for the night sights I installed, had to do that of course, but I kept the rest factory fresh. I'm now using 15 round Dagger Micro mags from PSA though, so that's nice. One day way in the future, the Echelon may have the kind of reliability reputation as Glock does, but that sure as hell isn't now.

      I would say it is late to party but it’s the best thing at the party. When they make a Glock 19 size and it’s already interchangeable like a Glock 47 which just showed up to the game it really is leagues above everything else on the market, mainly… fits any optic, fits any light, totally modular, no plates and the best trigger and best slide on the market for a stock gun. It’s definitely not just another polymer striker fire gun

    Glock has been "out of touch" for quite a while now. They have precisely two things going for them; simple longevity, and aftermarket support. That's about it. In every other facet of firearm design they've been left in the dust. That doesn't make them any less of a decent handgun, but they're no longer the "wonder nine" they used to be.
    Most other brands have more or less caught up, and are now as reliable as a Glock. Today's gun consumer is more or less spoilt for choice with quality striker fired polymer handguns. This Echelon will need to prove itself reliable, but it outpaces the Glock in every other category - so only time will tell. I will say the Echelon does have almost every single feature you'd want on a modern service handgun - so someone did their homework.

      @@bloodycrepe Sure. Better trigger, sights, ergos ect would be, to name a few the M&P 2.0, Walther PDP, CZ P10C, Steyr M9 A2, etc.
      Notice how I said "better" and not BETTER. That is, those are subjective things. Most of the options out there, save HS Produkt, FN and probably Sig, do virtually the same thing, ie shoot a bullet reliably, with some ergo changes. Glock just did it first commercially successfully. And with that comes all of the advantages of aftermarket and track record, so the other manufactures have had to compensate with bells and whistles that most Glocks don't have.
      That said, I still think Glock is absolutely the best in terms of simplicity and overall maintenance. All of those other options are more complicated and difficult to service on your own.

    • @bloodycrepe

      @@joshuabracke5775 thanks for trying at least. I've seen people writing this over and over again without giving a single reason why they think this or that is better than a glock.
      I personally carry CZ P01 just because I prefer SA/DA for appendix carry. However, like you said, nothing you mentioned is any better than a glock. CZ P10C and Walther PDP are one the of worst options out of the box in my opinion. I don't know enough about Steyr to comment on it.
      I couldn't agree more with your last paragraph. With glock performance trigger thrown into mix, they are very hard to beat.
