- Springfield Armory released two great 9mm choices recently. This video is to help you see the differences in order to choose the correct one for you. The Prodigy is a 9mm hammer fired double stack 1911, similar to a Stacato 2011. The Echelon is a striker fired polymer 9mm similar to a Glock 17, Walther PDP, HK VP9, Smith & Wesson M&P 9, FN 509 and of course the Springfield Armory XDm.

The Echelon and the Hellcat are two my favorite polymer pistols. Both are excellent for me. Both have grips and sights that are perfection for me.
You have any thoughts on Hellcat Pro configuration?
@@USCavalry1 - Im not sure why you are asking about the configuration of the Hellcat Pro.
For me the Hellcat Pro is perfection that I did not have to make any additions or changes on.
Everything is perfect for me on the Hellcat Pro.
Love my prodigy commander…sold my 48mos and gen5 17 for a hellcat pro and a echelon
The backstraps on the echelon release by pressing inside the grip with your finger. You dont need the punch for it.
Have both and love them
I traded a customized g3c for a echelon today and my Beretta m922 for a fn 502 plus like $200 which was well worth it to me
Great video. Just what I was looking for. Thanks.
While I LOVE my XDM ELITE, I just can't pull the trigger on the Prodigy when the Platypus CUSTOM is out there with fabulous reviews. Nice video though for sure. Very informative
The Prodigy, and Platypus, are two different animals. The playpus isn't really a 2011 format.
Very nice comparison. My favorite brand... well one of my favorite brands. Echelon is heck of a shooter and I like the adjustability of the frame and back straps. For me it's equal to the XDM Elite compact. As to the Prodigy.... the grip is to big for my hands, too beefy. I know, grow bigger hands. Don't feel comfortable shooting it. As to the Echelon, would be nice to see it in a compact or sub compact frame size. Thanks Hammer for the video. Looking forward to see watch you have next for us.
Nice review , helped me make some choices.
You would try these bull armory sas tac ii my friend.
They are outstanding
Both nice pistols
The Trijicon RMR is worth more than the Echelon.
That echelon is just an amazing handgun
dollar value wise, it checks off a lot of boxes for the money.
Thank you guys for helping me decide
Thanks for the review. I am hoping for a factory upgrade on the Prodigy line...kind of like going from XDM line to the XDMElite line. Also for me the Echelon looks amazing, but the lack of a manual safety is a no go for me. I really like the grip safety on the XDM Elite OSP line. I now safeties are not for everyone, but to carry it is just my preference. Options are a good thing.
👍👍🇺🇸
That Prodigy would look great if it wasn't for that huge, hideous rail.
Yeah, 1400 bucks for a springfield and a gun that is made in Croatia. Those are my two drawbacks. They are nice just not my style.
They are both excellent guns. Quality products.
@@Asidebaryea but I bet to him Austria is fine 💀 and house full of other companies he should have issues with as well but not a sound about em
