    Another great video . This video makes me want to buy it. The other video where you play all brass sounds makes me feel that keyboard is far better option due to weird tracking. You are “playing down” to fit the equipment here… is that fair?

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  3 месяца назад +1

      Well, I would say it is more a limitation of my setup. If I put foam like I have been meaning to I wouldn't be having those issues. I simply critique this because I imagine not everyone will set it up as much as I have. That being said the technology is the limitation, not this unit itself. This unit is the best synth for guitar on earth. If you can play keyboard, that's the better option, especially with things like the seaboard rise offering bending.

      @boimesa8190 No, unlike the SY1000 which has five patches that don't require the cable (these are useless as they are awful And sound like an SY1) The GM 800 has zero patches that you can use without the pickup. For anyone that is serious about Guitar synthesis, get over the fact that you have to use a pickup, computers cannot process six signals at once. The pickup solves this problem. Until hex pickups come inside guitars as a normal thing, you will always need a pick up.

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  Год назад +4

      Yes, you are correct about the ghost notes. It actually happened a lot more often than I was expecting for this unit. That being said the tracking is about 25% better I would say than the SY1000 or the GK3 pickup. It isn't going to amaze you but you will definitely notice it. I wouldn't say that it's worth the upgrade unless you want keyboard only sounds. I feel like the SY1000 covers a lot of these bases plus it can do guitar sounds as well.

      thanks for your honest appraisal,i was really thinking about getting this,but now feel i will wait and see how it goes before doing so..cheers! excellent though the official advertising videos are for this unit from talented official demo players who make it all sound so good,its only from honest upfront demos like yours that really show up the possible deficiencies which still exist and still need addressing before spending out so much on the unit....Well..update...I decided to get one in the end.I installed the GK5 on my strat,using no spacers,just the fixing tape,and gotta say,its an absolutely fantastic bit of kit.I haven,t had any latency issues at all,all tracks really really well and all bass sounds are fantastic,to my ears anyway.I,m glad I went ahead and got one,despite my initial reservations.

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  11 месяцев назад +4

      I'm glad you enjoy my honest unedited approach to this. The only parts that I edit out are the parts where I am not playing. If I make a mistake it stays in. If the unit malfunction it stays in the video. This is how I show honestly, what the unit is capable of. Those who know my playing know that I rarely make a mistake, so if you hear a ghost note it is 9/10 the unit making a tracking error.

    • @ERMAV
      @ERMAV 11 месяцев назад +3

      Tracking is 100% dependent on how accurately you install your pickup. If you do a good job installing your pickup it is a substantial improvement from the gk3

    so are there good sounding guitars?) a few guitar sound presets from this video are sounding so plastic(( I always wants from Roland GR-55 or SY-1000 to createe preset for fingerstyle, where we have one sound for usual acoustic guitar, one sound for strings 4-6 with bass-guitar and one sound with effects for 1-3 strings. With possibility on/off every instrument by the CTL buttons. But guitars (acoustic and electric) sounds very artificial in this demo unfortunately. Is possible to create good sounds for bass, electric and acoustic guitars? Thanx for detailed demo)

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  Год назад +2

      No, unfortunately it is not possible to create real guitar sounds with this unit. All of the guitar sounds you heard were synthesizer versions of guitars which is why they sounded plastic to you. The unit that you want is the SY1000 which can do synthesizer tones and real guitar tones just fine. This is purely for synth tones only. Which means it can do pretty much any Roland keyboard sound. To achieve your goal the SY1000 could do exactly what you want, a finger style guitar by just allowing your normal guitar through or using a modeled acoustic guitar which would sound amazing. Then you could put strings and a bass guitar behind that and separate the strings for different things.

      Stereo takes significantly longer to edit and record, however no one watches those videos. I can no longer do stereo as a standard when for some reason the algorithm deprioritizes any video I create that is in stereo. Go ahead and take a look for yourself, the stereo video that I put out has barely any views and it is direct input stereo as you requested. Yet, for some reason youtube pushes you this video. This happens every single time I attempt to replace my mono all sounds video with a stereo all sounds video. My conclusion is that it doesn't matter if I do stereo, it only matters if I do a video quickly. I can produce videos much more quickly and mono than I can in stereo. Since stereo videos do worse, there is quite literally zero reason for me to produce stereo videos. If stereo videos did as well I would make it the new standard but no one watches them. When I put stereo in the title nine out of 10 guitar players have no idea what that even means. I appreciate that like me you are a nerd for sound but please accept that the general public isn't. I'm tired to spend money for the Roland Synth product. I finaly finish with Meris ENZO. There your are in the real synth. Realy create your personnal sounds and it sound like a real analog engine. Not those bad sounds. Sad cause Roland have the best synth but not for guitar.. For me Roland and boss for my guitar it's over.

    • @GearSounds
      @GearSounds  2 месяца назад

      The problem with your comment is a fundamental misunderstanding of the technology. With current processing power you must understand that a guitar is six individual signals. The split pickup is necessary and if you understand that you can understand why it requires six times the processing power due to six signals being present. The SH 4D only has a single signal present therefore it can dedicate all of its processing power to that single signal. That is why the sounds are higher quality, it can dedicate more synth engines to that single signal. That simply is not a possibility on guitar unless you want to play on a single string, in which case Roland could develop a synthesizer that sounds just as good as the SH4D. However, who wants to play a single stringed guitar? A synthesizer on a guitar will always be six times worse in terms of processing power than a real synthesizer. That being said this is still the best a guitar synthesizer has ever sounded. Please understand the limits of the technology. The Meris Enzo is not polyphonic and in no way compares to the functionality of the GM 800. Yes you do have more traditional functionality on the Enzo however you only have one voice and you can only play one note at a time. No comparison at all however it would be great for single note melodies if you want that single voice.

      ¿Compraste el captador GK5? ¿Ajustaste los sillines del puente y le informaste al pedal lo que hiciste? Si no lo hiciste, no has terminado de configurar el pedal, ya que requiere el GK5 más una configuración para funcionar correctamente. El seguimiento de esto es mejor que cualquier otro sintetizador que use un captador hexafónico jamás inventado. No hay un seguimiento más rápido para un pedal de sintetizador que use un captador hexafónico en el planeta tierra. Ninguno. Estás comparando manzanas con piñas aquí, señor.
