I remember being in middle school in like 84, and going over to this kid's house who played guitar. He was that kid who was the first legitimately good guitar player you ever met. I was blown away by his playing, BUT... he had these two metal boxes between his guitar and amp: a DM-2 and a CE-3. Thone things were like fucking MAGICAL to me. I can't tell you how much what those things could do reassembled my 13 year old brain. Anyway, 35 years later he still has those, and they're still in great condition.
I know what you mean I still use a dm-2 fantastic pedal. Haven't found a better delay.

I have the EH synth9 pedal, love it too, but I can’t stop thinking about the SY-1. I’ve had two Roland ready Fender Strats, a 12sting dual midi Warr guitar, and some Chapman products... these track better!

Yeah but this is much more affordable to an average mortal, you gotta think real hard if you want to pay $200 more for some synth sounds.
It's all about the effects loop tho
Trust and believe you’ll want Enzo’s presets if you plan to implement a synth pedal live. Plus the arpeggiator is one of its best features.
Enzo is brilliant but I sold mine bc I found the tracking, while good, to still be not to my liking, I feel like the technology for that kind of polyphonic tracking is very close but just not quite there yet to imo... not sure if its FFT transform tech or what, I just feel like if there's an Enzo 2 it's going to be my shit by miles ...this one also looks fantastic though

This is the most perfectly trackign synth pedal Ive ever heard honestly.
As someone who has been struggling to learn keys to get more production versatility, this is p much the greatest shortcut ever. I'm def getting one.

Just got mine flew days ago it blows my mind pretty neat effects in this bad boy
It’s a parallel send and return that is used for adding effects to just the synth sound so it doesn’t affect your dry signal or any pedals earlier in your chain and only blends with the synth signal
Label Me Justin technically it's series - I'm assuming it goes this ->
Synth Input -> Synth preamp -> external send -> random pedal -> Return -> Synth Effect -> Output
All Boss pedals from now on should be like this

plug it in and fuck around is my life story. i love those pedals.
The possibilities of this pedal seems endless , with a bass is even more inpressive than with a guitar.
I use it one , send the guitar sound in my amp and the synth sound in the PA system thru an ABY box and a DI box.
Really great immersive stereo sound.
I’m only 55 seconds in and just wanna say this pedal is awesome and it’s totall bull crap that there’s no one in the world to take my money and send me this pedal.

Amazing! The dual SY1’s sound like my old 1980 GR300( trying my best to sound like Fripp in King Crimson). These are backordered everywhere but at least I’m on the waitlist for Nov 25 ship. I totally love your channel.

Analog technology is like almost a century old, the digital algorithms are at the forefront of modern music tech, it’s only natural that they’re tinkering w that stuff now
They need a midi version in a standard size Boss pedal! There is a lot of sounds to manage. I am a little skeptical of how long it takes to recall a sound live. Tracking is perfect.
One thing I'm really curious about that I've yet to see a video touch on: with any of the Organ presets, is there a "rotary" type effect, and if so, can the expression control the speed like a brake?

Not sure it replaces a synth player for a band that is synth focused, but if you're using synth in a few songs or doing concept work, wow this would more than work in a pinch

That synth pedal sounds rad on bass.
The sy 300 is awesome but it’s always nice to have a classic guitar pedal form factor just to get you in the zone for moving knobs as opposed to programming patches
I have a sy 300 i don’t need this but man no lie I’ll probably pick one up cause this stuff is my crack now if only some would make a dedicated chiptune pedal for snes and nes tones and anamaguchi songs

Great demo on the bass! Lots of decisions now, the EHX Mono Synth, the Keeley Synth 1, the soon to be released Sound Audio C4 Synth or this. Who knows???
I've messed around with guitar synths for years. I tried the Roland 707
just after it came out, buying the GR-20, eventually the GR-55. All
suffered from poor tracking to some degree but the major problem for me
is the strange whistles and monkey noises it puts out if you miss hit a
note or it doesn't recognize it. Pity, I really wanted to love them.
This looks like its solved their faults pretty well. maybe it'll signal
the start of the guitar synth age!

It was crazy fun to try linking two together. But who would buy two? For that money you are well on the way to getting a much more powerful processor, like an SY-300., which, by the way takes a standard 1/4 " pickup. And it is stereo, unlike the SY-1.
I can understand your preference for simple pedals, but please don't spread the misconception that hex pickups are "MIDI" gear. 13 pin gear is not accurately described as a "MIDI Pickup." The hex pickup is quite literally 6 magnetic micro-humbuckers.
The only features the SY-1 has over GR-55 synth: the arpeggiators and the side loop, both overlooked in GR-55.
