- As we make our way into the new decade, we here at Pedals and Effects wanted to take a look back at the pedals that really impressed us in 2019. The last few years have really shown us that we truly are in the golden age of effects pedals. Smaller pedal operations have been enough to shake up the industry with their output, and even get the titans of the industry to notice and do similar things. In the end we all benefit from innovation. So let’s take a look at what innovation brought us in 2019!

I'm using a Darkglass Microtubes Vintage, an Aurelius Chorus, a Boss Sy-1, and a Dispatch Maker to make my Bass absolutely sound like a Huge Pipe Organ, fun stuff! I've learned a lot from you Juan. We look forward to more videos!

I love these guys - Tera Melos is one of my favorite bands ever - but these guys aren't your average bears when it comes to layering/soundscapes. I also wonder how frequently they demo these in a band setting. I've returned so many pedals that seemed cool in the bedroom but were very difficult to apply practically in a band setting or just too fussy to mess with on stage.
Nothing worse than a synth bass warbling pitches on a big pa. 100% agreed.

I bought the Plasma pedal. Most dough I've ever dropped on a pedal to be honest but it looks so cool. I paid something like £270 but it was a birthday treat. At the same time I also got a couple of Fuzzface clones for £20 each. The Plasma pedal is something Dr Frankenstein would create. Its alive!! Its ALIVE!! Lol.
Guys a tip that will change your lives as far as saving sounds you can use paint markers to put a dot on the knob and a dot on the pedal body to line up, you can use multiple colors for multiple settings, changed every for me for playing

Yo, guys, where the Empress Zoia at? It's easily the pedal of the decade, imho.
kliedziens couldn’t agree more. The Zoia seems conspicuous in its absence from a lot of 2019 lists. I think it’s because a lot of guitarists struggle with the learning curve and aren’t that technically minded. It’s no more niche than the Mood though.
@@peterjessop1878 The great thing about the Zoia is that you can just download other peoples' presets and not even care about tweaking.

At 32:00, regarding the drone pedal and airplane science. I think that’s called “sympathetic vibration”. I get this in my car a lot because certain songs (especially vibrato effects) will synchronize “sympathetically” with the vibration of the car engine. Actually, a lot of Portishead tracks trigger this phenomena. Anyway, great video. I dig the tour. That Plasma Coil pedal is gnarley with a capital ‘G’. ⚡️🎸⚡️

This might be a very conservative pick but man...I love the Fender Downtown Express. It´s very flexible and I really dig its Overdrive. You can put the OD before or after compression with a switch. Very useful to me when I´m adding a filter pedal and / or a sub octave to it. It has become the center of my board and I don´t think that this will change anytime soon.
I have not loved how the Plumes sounds in most demos but it sounded great on both bass and guitar in this run through.

Can yall start playing actual tunes instead of purposely trying to make it sound as fucked as you can possibly get it. Id really like to see actual music being made not 9bit clusterfuckcore. No disrespect intended just slightly annoying cause i used to love yall.
They are generally demonstrating the different effects that can be had for each pedal in different areas of the neck. Occasionally they might get a loop going to blend/combine different effects. Both are interested in experimental/weird sounds that can be made using the pedals they demo so if that isn't your thing I think you are looking in the wrong place.
