Where are people thinking "I'm here to finish your training" is from? "I've heard that before" 😭😭 I loved all the references to past TCW episodes, the one with Ahsoka leading her troops and almost all of them dying especially. That was a heartbreaker. Siege of Mandalore too. "That's gonna be my new-"... (favorite shot I'm guessing) The episode: *Imma stop you right there. Lemme do one better* Huyang's slow turn and squinting eyes, and then him saying *I N T E N S E* was golden. Anakin tried the same hand-bending lightsaber disarming move he tried on Obi-Wan which worked on him. Hearing Ahsoka call out to Anakin when he disappeared was too sad. 😭😭 I liked how Ahsoka called the ship a "Jedi starship", further showing that she indeed did change. Hey, the kid is just curious. 😅 17:45 that almost sounded similar to the ghostly voices of whenever Maul is around.
Fun fact, and something I didn’t think about/notice till just now. The fight between Shin and Sabine in the first episode of Ahsoka was the first live action lightsaber fight between 2 women. Also, I never felt there was anything romantically going on between Ezra and Sabine, besides Ezra flirting with her when he first met her. That’s why I’m in the Sabine and Shin shipping camp, which would also be the first gay/lesbian couple on screen in star wars, and makes sense for those 2 characters, cause they’re both not very “girly”, and if Thrawn ends up killing Baylan for actually not killing Ahsoka off, Shin could very likely join Sabine and Ezra to get revenge on Thrawn, and/or continue Baylan’s cause in some way, depending on what that ends up being. And Sabine and Shin both have that rebelish, stubborn, and dark tendency nature, the latter Shin more than Sabine of course, so I think they could compliment each other well, learning a lot together and from each other. I don’t know if Dave would go there, but I’d love to see it, not for the sake of representation at all, which I don’t care about, but because it could actually make sense for the characters and the story.
@@ncard00 How cool! Didn't even think about the fact that this was the first live action female lightsaber duel! Makes us love this show even more! Yeah, we've always felt Sabine and Ezra's relationship was more brother/sister. Kinda hope they keep it that way.
I felt like this was truly a new iteration of Anakin. We've seen him as a Jedi, and as Vader. We only seen him demonstrate his potential as the Chosen One during the Mortis Arc in the Clone Wars. Here, this is him as The Chosen One. He is filling the shoes of The Father, and I think if Anakin had chosen to stay on Mortis, he would have become this much more soon. He left Mortis, and they all forgot it ever happened. But at the time of his death, his life as Vader was the long road taken in his path to understanding the dark side. "You were right about me" is Anakin understanding himself as well. But here's the thing, what was the consequences for the death of the Father during the clone wars era? He was keeping the dark and the light in check since the beginning. So during the Mortis Arc, for the first time there is no one in the role of The Father. And why would the rise of the Empire, Vader and The Emperor be a result of this? Because its not the consequence to Anakin's decision on Mortis. The history of the galaxy comes with the rise and fall of many Jedi Orders and Sith Empires. Baylan wants this cycle to end. And here is where this ties in. Because Anakin didn't continue the Fathers role, The Mother also known as Abeloth was able to grow in power. At the end of the clone wars, i believe she may have influenced Baylan's path. So Abeloth would be the direct consequence of a void left by no one stepping up to do what the Father did. On top of this, what if she was the reason The Emperor was able to survive? Plus, we heard both Anakin and Ahsoka in Rey's final moments against the Emperor. From Ahsoka's point of view, i think she's alive and in the world between worlds viewing this moment of Rey facing The Emperor. So it doesn't have to be the same time period. I think what's happening here is a game of 4D chess between the chosen one and Abeloth. This could be why Ahsoka is no where to be seen, because she is still in the other Galaxy when we hear her through the force. I don't believe Ahsoka will return to the original Galaxy until after the events of the sequel trilogy. Personally i think using this show to set up Abeloth in a long term thanos level threat would be a good story post sequel. Or this might be completely wrong, but Anakin is fulfilling his role as The Father either way.
I felt like a kid watching this episode. Transported me back to being 12 year old me watching clone wars
We felt the exact same way! Such an amazing episode!

Great comment! Yeah its so great seeing Anakin like this. I really hope all the Mortis stuff does end up impacting the bigger SW picture.
"this is the show I want", yeah theres 7 seasons of it
