To each his own, but I just want to post this to give viewers some points about this:
If you want to pack very light and minimize space, these sprayers take up way too much room. They don’t hold a lot of water, you can’t store anything in them, and pressure is nothing to write home about.
You’re better off using a 3- or 5-gallon bucket (which you can use to store stuff on the way to the site), and a battery powered shower head which you drop the pull intake into the bucket.
I use TWO buckets which nestle into each other, with one used with a toilet lid.

Can you drop a few links on what specific parts you recommend? Looking for a reference as I search around. Best!

You can add water in that bottle and leave it out in the sun to warm up, too. 🤙🏾

Definitely game changer with camping. I bought a portable usb charged shower, bought it 3 years ago for £30, it is a God send, I got it for home originally as I don't have a shower, but I knew it would come in handy for camping also. The privacy tent was the purchase I was unsure of, whether I would use it as a solo female and feel safe, but I do. I cannot do the wipes to wash, I don’t think thats good enough personally for hygiene. I would say my set up is complete now. Sometimes I swap things out, but overall my solo set up is fabulous. Car camper 🇬🇧

Wonderful. We're going to the Eldorado Forest for a couple weeks next month. I think I might paint the spray canister black in an effort to absorb heat from the sun. I'm also going to buy a 3-gallon so at least two people can tidy up. Thank you for the idea.

Nice simple setup. If I get into overlanding I will need a setup like that. 👍

Thanks for the tutorial. I got the same hose and sprayer and used a 1/4 to 3/8 hose barb. The sink sprayer was a tight fit but putting it in hot water helped. I also used clamps just in case.

I came here to check on barb sizes, as my clamped 1/4 to 3/16 is high pressure leaking 😭. Thanks for sharing what's worked for you!! Gonna go swap out barbs!

      Thanks :)
It is getting a little ridiculous, and not really "roughing it", lol.

@@RestlessWonderer Roughing it is subjective, isn't it? It seems the older I get the rougher everything becomes. At least I'll be clean while doing it.

Pretty cool! I was gonna do the black abs PVC pressurized on the roof of my Astrovan, but I'm thinking about this now. Maybe I can get a little larger tank and paint it black....eliminating the heating up water and having some extra too. Thanks for the idea!!!

Hudson or chemical pump sprayer. I used them for commercial restaurant good and duct work cleaning 😊

Awesome. Personally, I'd get the 2 gallon sprayer (same style) for a few bucks more, and double the capacity. Nevertheless, very good idea. Not sure why I didn't think of it myself! I even use one of these things to transfer gear oil for my car maintenance! Duh!

Paint the sprayer black and sit in the sun. If warm enough great if not add much less hot water.

This is awesome, thanks for sharing it even if not the original creator! How many times did you have to repump the tank to get through the gallon of water? And how many fill ups would it take for a good comfy full wash down? Maybe 2? Or get a 2+ gallon tank?? Also, the guy at my home depot will not show me the right pieces haha, even with hoses in hand. Dude will hand me a toothbrush and argue it's the right piece haha

I like easy and this method is way better with the pressurization than using a plastic water bag and gravity.....Any problems with the local bear population!!

Important question. What caused the Bear Spray to go off?

    • @RestlessWonderer
      @RestlessWonderer  2 года назад +1

Very good question, lol. I had finished packing my car and had the bear spray sitting in a 5 gallon bucket with some other stuff. When I shut the trunk, I heard a very loud hiss that continued for a bit, and I knew that something triggered the spray. The trunk and car were full of pepper "mist" and my gear and the inside of the trunk were covered in the red spray.
I had to pull everything out and then wipe/clean all the spray out before loading back up... still can smell it :)

@@RestlessWonderer Oh man sounds awful sorry to hear it. I always carry bear spray. The canisters I use have a safety pin that must be pulled before it will spray. Did your canister have a pin? Did the pin break? I am going to make a habit of inspecting mine from now on. Thanks for sharing your experience.
