I think this song is a great example of the power of mashups. The original YMCA song, at least in my experience in the UK, is a fun party song. Enjoyed more by older generations, but everyone knows the lyrics. By backing it with a more serious, emotional song, it makes me think a bit deeper about the lyrics. The heartfelt call to men going through tough times to seek support.
Young man, your time has come to end I said young man, now you've lost every friend So young man, just lay down on the ground Because you're out of it now and it's T. I. M. E.
omg! Yeah that's the best part! I remember the first time my friends and I listened to the song, we all lost our shit when we heard that. It's the perfect cherry on top
@@aggelosmplatsiotis2568 eh i don't think he's being serious. if he is, then he's the most mature 6 y/o ever, and that ain't a good thing at this point

What a tradegy… This artistic masterpiece could be remembered as one of the finest creation mankind conceived, but sadly it has the misfortune to exists in the wrong generation.. I don’t know why but it feels like people stopped appreciating creativity. Most of the Sheeple enjoy modern abominations of „music“, while gems like this get overshadowed. In a world that is dominated by quick encounters and disposibility there seems to be no room for this kind of ingenious music.
memes aside it's actually a pretty brilliant compression of history via pop culture artifacts. it highlights the qualities of these works that we find inherently compelling in spite of how disparate they are tonally on their own.
Our kids will be saying that about the music they have, and the generation before us is saying the same thing. Most masterpieces go unnoticed in the time period they were made.
I'm going today to a Hans Zimmer concert and I'm certain when Time comes, I will not be able to stop hearing YMCA.
I didn't know he did concerts
How'd it go? Was he drunk?

Not just any men. Homeless men who were ostracised and dehoused because of their sexuality. This song saved lives.
I’ve forgotten what the original song sounds like
Young man, your time has come to end
I said young man, now you've lost every friend
So young man, just lay down on the ground
Because you're out of it now
and it's T. I. M. E.
This makes me feel things I can't put into words.
Motivated and inspired
no man does it all by himself
it takes people to make a village.
Labeled under: "Songs that make me emotional".
"Feelings are superficial, they lie on the surface. But emotions, memories, they sink deeper into the mind, they linger."
This song needs to play at the last YMCA's funeral.
the band is called the village people
@@celeri6497 You could play it if the organisation dies I guess.

Artyom, force answers force, war only breeds more war. To break this cycle one must stay at the YMCA and get oneself clean.
