Stamping the size of a bolt on the bolt itself is something I never thought of before, but now can't stop thinking about how useful that could be.
Most stamping on bolts is their strength rating, which in most cases is more important.
@@Christian-cz9bu Most strength ratings on classic external hex bolts are denoted with a ring of lines around the perimeter of the head of the bolt. Useful, but I was thinking in the mind of someone like a mechanic working on a vehicle, not an engineer prototyping a design.
I've come across this a time or two in like a prefab kit or something, but the next problem then becomes do you label it for the bolt size or wrench size for the head.

I absolutely knew William was going to be covered in anti-seize as soon as he brought it out.
usually the "if you leave it running it burns itself up" part is fixed with a pressure switch on the discharge side of the pump which is connected between the coil and ground. No water = no water pressure and the engine shuts off, saving the pump. I've worked on a lot of those CFE units, they're pretty OK. I've also cursed mismatched fittings for years. You're looking at hydraulic fittings mated to water fittings. It's weird but also normal. Also always have a recirc path.
Random knowledge time: The floor is raised in the kitchen and bathroom because they didn't want to run plumbing in the concrete floor. Why cut a trench when you can just make it for people under 5'6"?

Will, for things like cleaning the rust from the fitting, look into electrolysis! All you need is a container large enough for the part, a "dumb" car battery charger, water, baking soda, and sacrificial steel. Works GREAT for really intricate parts like that, and very "set & forget"

Silicon grease is good for preventing stainless steel threads from friction welding together too. We use it on the stainless steel tank bands when assembling a set of doubles at the dive shop I work at. Just keep it away from oxygen rich environments.

huge bonus points for using an actual box end wrench instead of a water pump wrench (chan locks) or a crescent wrench. it seems like most people that work with fittings just use either chanlocks and monkey grip strength or they use a crescent wrench. the sizes for the fittings are all pretty random either way. its the only time i've ever seen 13/16
