@@thevampiredude7 After a bit of research it seems like it might be OK for a bus, actually--from what I've read the main culprits for the 6.0 failing fast is people using it like a gas engine; not warming it up at all, going on short trips on a cold engine which causes incomplete combustion and buildup of soot in important engine components. If it was actually a working bus where the thing was running and hauling for a decent interval, it would probably be fine.
This is literally having adult money, the brains to fix broken/breaking things, and finding those broken/breaking things for cheap and buying them because it was either a little kid dream or a "why not" kinda mood. It's also crazy how Will instantly started looking like a dad

Holy hell the number of miles they had on them though...I regularly saw LLVs from the mid 80's and this was in 2016. Half a million miles sometimes.
They mentioned at the end that they took off the school district signs, I wonder if they actually just threw another layer of paint over anything that would keep them from selling it instead of taking the time to remove anything

Lol don't do it. They're horribly unreliable and break down constantly. By the time you get them they have 500,000 miles and usually rust is right around the corner. They're built to a cost and you'll wind up spending a ton of money upgrading basic components like brakes and body parts. There's a reason that busses are cheap while things like vans are more expensive.
My brother has a coworker who's been doing that for a few years, and it sounds 1,000x more difficult than just buying an RV. Also, it's cheaper to just build a working RV upfront.

I mean I bought a bus like 10 years ago for like $8k, needed a farm vehicle to take fruits and veggies from the farm to the market, and it was cheaper than any comparably sized box truck. Not a school bus though, one of those old people with disabilities buses so most all the seats folded up, it was also quite a bit bigger and wider, plus mine had a partially working hydraulic lift on the side!
In the Netherlands we have a TV program called "Help, mijn man is klusser!" which translates to "Help, my husband is a handyman!" and I feel like William is the perfect embodiment of that.

He does it the right way : carry on with your life as usual, and carry the baby with you. Especially when they are a few months old, they will sleep, eat and diaper-changed anywhere. As long as you are with them, they'll be happy and adapt.
Those short buses are very skookum, our highschool had two of them and we got them into multiple accidents and hit countless guardrails with them with only paint damage. Only time they were broken was when someone stole the catalytic converters off them.
Weld them back to back so you can drive them from both fronts. Although, the turning radius would be horrendous, so buy a bendy bus and weld the school buses to it. Better yet, put another one at the top of each, remove the bottom driving controls, link the top controls to the bottom and drive from the top.
I've come sooooo close to buying busses over and over again through the years. They're cheap, built like tanks, and have so much potential for RV conversions and stuff.

Two buses, back to back with a couple in the middle (like a train car coupler). Then, replace the transmissions with 480v generators and the differentials with industrial 480v motors. The front ends would remain independently steerable so that you have front axle and rear axle steering to help you make it around those tight corners. Granted, you're probably going to have to make a crow's nest behind the drivers seats so your rear axle driver can see but it would work. It'd be a combo of a train and a ladder firetruck with an independently steerable rear end (or one of the many other pieces of equipment with independently steerable rear ends)
