I have Fives as my rear surrounds with my Arc and dual Gen 3 subs. My Fives sit 12-14 feet back at waist high tilted inwards towards the sofa. The Fives do a fantastic job filling the entire space and they have a very large listening envelop to sound very smooth/consistent in multiple sitting positions. Not sure I would want to give up the Fives laser beam "kick you in your chest" of sound for the ERA 300s that need to bounce sound off walls/ceilings? My thinking is an echo will never sound the same or better than the original sound from the source.
Thanks for watching, yeah exactly haha i will be honest and say that the Fives are still the champ for everything. For music, for movies and tv shows, they are still the best that Sonos has to offer right now. People say that they are waste to use as surround, i dont think those people own Fives and have used them for surround. Like you said and i have said in many of my videos from last year. The Fives are "kick you in the chest" power and the best of all is that they are all the drivers are directed at you so you will here every little surround sound coming out. 😂
Thanks for watching, yeah lets hope for Era 500s soon. But i think Arc gen 2 is first to pop out of Sonos this year. They shouldve released the Era 500s cause the Era 300s are a little weak for the Arc gen 1 already
I would also love to see ERA 500, Arc Gen 2, and/or the ability to add more speakers to the home theater group and use TruePlay with them. I would get ERA 300 right now if I could add them on either side of my Arc or use them as side surround speakers and have them TruePlay together with my current Arc/dual Gen 3 subs/Fives.
@@mrgold3591 Yeah that wouldve been the optimal if Sonos did that. That would make the whole setup complete, imagine adding Era 300s with the Fives as surround haha that would sound amazing.
Thanks for watching, and sorry for the late reply but im on vacation right now. Yes it is all done with airplay and to be honest no not a single input lag or latency from the sound. I think they work great as tv speakers. They sound amazing as surround speakers aswell. 🙏
You are making me buy more and more speakers with these kind of videos lol
Thanks for watching, hahahaha well thats how it all started for me. One setup led to another and here we are with 8 Sonos speakers now. 😂

I’m really hoping they come out with the ERA 500’s
I really hope they won't , she won't let me upgrade again from 300's 😅

Is this connection simply done via Apple TV's Airplay and the Sonos Five's Airplay? No Amp needed? Any thoughts on input lag?
