Satch literally changed my life, and I love him for that. Seen him too many times to count; never disappoints. Seeing him with Vai in a couple of weeks and taking my son. It’ll be his first time seeing Joe and Steve.
Wow... You must live under a fucking ROCk.. Joe Satriani is fucking HUGE amongst those who know who great musicians are. He has set standards and has been around for 40 years...!!! Learn before you speak!!!
First time I heard Joe, I was blown away and went to the record store and bought his latest album "Flying In A Blue Dream" back in summer -90. I think I was 17.
How do I send my deepest gratitude to you for this album? It's hands down my favorite and I been listening to it since 5 yrs old. 41 now... much respect.
La bravura mostruosa di Satriani e la sua grandissima UMILTÀ ne fa' del chitarrista più grande di molti altri che spesso camminano ad un palmo da terra.....grande Joe
My elder sister introduced me to Joe Satriani. In 1992. In INDIA. Enough said. This man took electric guitar instrumental music to the world. Fuckin legend.
I was introduced to your music when I heard this track on the radio in 1987. It blew my mind 🤯 🎸 and left me wanting more! I only own your compilation “Time Machine”, but it’s one of the most treasured items in my music collection. Rock on!
I always used the distaste of females as measurement scale for the greatness of music. The more they disliked the music, the better the music usually was. This process rarely ever failed me and works to this day.
@@hazardeur it's not only females, even the boys nowadays haven't got an ounce of taste for good music. I played Hendrix's little wing for a friend to get his reaction and all he could say was slow and boring. This same guy said that dubstep has the greatest thing ever in music.
I met him 1 time was great, and then the concert I went to he walk right passed me I said hello Hes a great man! miss playing guitar so keep it going joe!
When Surfing with the Alien came out me and a friend became HUGE fans. That album, Not of this Earth and Dreaming #11 really are special for me to this day. We heard (read) Satch was coming over to play the UK in July 1988. The first gig was at the wonderful venue that is the Town & Country Club in Kentish Town London. He had been put on a C&W bill, with Butch Hancock and Jimmie Gilmore 🤣......... & here was us, 16 year old metal kids at what was basically Bobs Country Bunker night, guys in 10-gallon hats wandering around. On came Joe and shredded. I think there was about 6 of us there (maybe more). I can remember leaning on the stage and there being a lot of space behind us! Afterwards we were hanging around the front of the venue and Joe and Stu Hamm came out, and their tour manager was trying to get them back to their hotel. He was (they both were) SO nice to us, chatted to my friend about certain guitar parts, chatted for ages about whatever, and was perhaps a bit too candid about how pissed (jokingly - I think!) he was with his manager for that gig and no taxi waiting to get back to the hotel 🤣🤣. To us they were huge rock stars, but of course looking back at that time - in the UK anyway, he was still fairly niche. He signed our albums, gave us picks, and I never forgot it. We saw him at The Marquee on Wardour St a few days later, a different thing all together, jam packed and sweaty walls, but he remembered us. Such a decent guy
I’m a retired professional guitarist who has been playing in bands from 1974-2020. Surfing with the Alien dropped 10/87. I learned Satch Boogie from 6/88-9/88. Through contacts in the Music Industry I met Joe quite a few times. Still my favorite guitar instrumental album. I listen to it loud once a week on my $45,000 stereo system. Keep rocking!
All these years , I’ve never seen this video - have to say it’s pretty cool! I guess it shows Joe is making the point that this was the “modern” version (80’s Rock guitar) of ‘Swing’ genre
The most consistently creative guitar riff Maker ever. In my opinion, he even tops Eddie Van Halen. I've been collecting his music ever since 1986. I'm having Fun watching all these videos, as I could never afford cable TV and thus watch MTV. Better late than never.
Yeah keep practicing. For what ??? Even if you can play like it you'll never be rich . What a waste of time spending millions of hours . Just put in a cd and let someone else do it for you, job done

I saw him live screatched so loud my ears were bleeding

Frank Gambale is clean on another level. if you like it clean.
Yeah well he couldn't sing for nothing but his music spoke for itself surfing with an alien great album
If I was in a band, I'd open every concert with a Satch Boogie as an intro
That old film footage of those guys dancing works brilliantly in sync with the music !
There will never be an era of guitar players like this again...
I’ve adored this song for years-It’s like ZZTop and EVH had a baby
that's spot on!
I never thought of that BUT it kind of does sound that way. 🤘😎🤘
I think it's JAZZY --- the hi-hats at the beggining give me a clue.
This guy has potential. He may make it big one day as long as he keeps practicing!

I love playing this song on my guitar & I love listening to Joe Satriani playing it even more!
That groove really reminds me of Van Halen’s “hot for teacher”
i love his melodic raw style and innovation , thanx joe !!!

A true master of the guitar, I fell in love with joe’s guitar playing when I first heard him playing his tune, Midnight.

It's Jazz and Rock?? is true Satch Boogie.
It has nothing to do with jazz tho
It's more Blues and shred guitar mixed. This song is really jazz.
