Joe is living proof that songs don't need lyrics. When you play that well you can paint a picture which is more than a thousand words especially the way that Joe does it ♥️
For the longest time I didn't even realize it had no lyrics, I listen to Ozzy's boneyard (Ozzys station on Sirius XM) and have been listening to it for a while and one day when it came on I decided I'd sing it but then realized I forgot the lyrics... Then quickly realised there were none lmao
Joe Sinatriani
Guitar notes enlighten, words corrupt 🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥
Sin dudas
His phrasing with the guitar is perfect, imo, even Eddie couldn't "sing" with his guitar like that.
This is one of the BEST pieces of music ever made!!
Totally agreed
100%
Maybe, but not the only one
@alexdiaz8466 one of as in others also ❤️
Satch.. best guitarist of all time
2024 ❤?

This song encapsulates the image and feel of cruising down the Pacific Coast highway in a convertible vet with the sun shining, the wind in your hair and the Pacific Ocean Just yards away. Make it last forever! That's my endless summer! ☀️

Joe deserved a grammy for this song. What a masterpiece!
Grammy HELL This should be the National Anthem
@@mikelong366 Seasonal Anthem?
@@archlich4489 good one!😂
*No one gets a grammy because they deserve one. The political gainsmanship behind the distribution of grammies has only been glimpsed by its parallel corruption exposed in recent events like Gov. Cuomo getting an Emmy for his droning on about how great a job he did in NY while killing 15,000 senior citizens. Its about paybacks, pushing careers and making up for money lost on album releases. Ex. Fran Ferdinand's grammy I was told by their manager personally that they got it because the label lost money on their record and they hoped it would help generated a couple hundred thousand units in sales.*
Yup
I love the positive vibe we can feel from this song. It warms my heart.
yes is cool - he got so meny song - you know more that speed energy songs of Joe ?
It worms my heart from 25 years :) I still feel the heat :D.
This was actually all over mainstream radio the year it came out, and having an instrumental on mainstream rock radio is an extreme rarity! Unfortunately the video & radio version was missing the sublime resolution of the total tune. Make sure to search "Satriani Summer Song HQ" to hear that tasty last little bit!

@@pablot-r9402I remember it being used in a Sony commercial in late 1992.
Me and my husband before we got married we would go on a Sunday drive in the country and listen to this satriani summer song 🎶
if you have an electric guitar you can play along. The opening is in d major and he emphasizes the e note before resolving to a then going to d minor. Not hard stuff to play as its easy theory and he isnt playing fast. I figured out the opening in three minutes
You should still be doing that now. If it's good before you're married, then it's good after you're married, right?
What else did you get up to on those long summer drives?
I'm sure many can imagine but a first hand description would be more interesting.
Who's still listening in 2023? 🎸
Chief🤔 it's 2024😂
@@KennethBeich I posted that, in 2023. It is now 2024 and I'm STILL listening. 😇

2024 baby!
Check out the forgotten part 2
I listen to this guy everyday while working I drive a truck for a living and this is one of the songs I have to listen on full blast!! This, Motorcycle Driver and Surfing with the alien are my big three
Cheers mate, I'm gonna check those two out
That is one of the best rockers of all time! Everything he does is fantastic! When he played for chicken foot he absolutely made that band a masterpiece! Definitely with out a doubt top 5 rock guitarist of all time!
1992
The first time I ever heard this song was in the menus of Formula 1 on the Playstation 1. I would play it all the time, and drive the Adelaide Circuit. Good times.
I Was There, Back In 1992. This Was Filmed At The Saugus Speedway, Ca. I'm At 0:06, 1;45 And 2:25. Back When I Had Long Hair! 🤣

Did you ever live in T.O.? Are you related to Chris Mata? Or Jesus/Jose(I can't remember his real name as he went by Chuy) and Aidee Gomez
wow that's so cool
Somewhere and somehow you will live through ages through this video....in metaphorical aspect....great man I guess you are lucky....👍🤘
@Kevin Prima Cantrell
When a guitar sounds that good, you don’t need someone singing over the riffs. It sang on its own.
Joe Satriani could honestly play guitar, like an orchestra on guitar.Totally a gifted guitistist.
No vocals needed
@@peggyfranzen6159 He can also sing.
And you're a treasure for knowing the difference between "it's" and "its" haha
Waiting to see Satch and Vai in about 2 hrs. Life is kickass!! 🎸🎶

This song is the day where everything just goes right.
feeling so same
Thomas Stadler yep. The chrome is shiny, the beer is cold, the chicks are hot, and the grill is lit.😎
True words 💪🏻
No, it can also go when the day is going like shit, play it and you will save the day...
hell yeah..grin grin lol
Man, that guy just bottled a hot summer vacation/road-trip day, took its essence and made a song out of it. Plain simple genius.
Mr. Joe Satriani at his prime. "Boss" guitar, 'follow' guitar, " bangin'" drums, and ' heavy" bass......a true "air-guitar" wanna-be jam. Classic jamming rocker. Thanks for a thrill!....
Still hits the spot 30 years on !
This song is magical. I never get bored of it and it fills me with joy everytime i listen to it
Damn right. This is pure no fucking around hell yes. When I'm down for whatever reason, this is my "go to".
Man could make his guitar talk! Love him
my neighbours loved this song so much they threw a brick through my window to hear it louder
Lol
Success!
send him back
LMAO, same here
I bet you didn't even notice the brick until you'd finished playing the album. Such an awesome album. Gotta love cool neighbours!
Probably the best rock guitar instrumental ever written, great melodies, driving rhythm, excellent arrangement and Joe's unique soloing - magic
Santana's Europa comes to mind too. But for a pure rocker, this can't be beat. Rock on, Joe.
Steve Vai's "For the love of God" is better.
Orion by Metallica is better than all that have been listed .
@@Dr.WestsideHell no it isn't. Waves by Guthrie Govan is though.

I think I was 13 when I first heard this on Gran Turismo 4 and couldn't stop myself from air-guitaring all over the living room. This is the sole reason I started playing guitar :D
Yes & Gran Turismo had a bunch of good songs..Loved that game
I have seen Satriani live 3 times and I can't help but be amazed at his abilities with a guitar. I felt the same amazement when I saw Hendrix on August 1970 in Philadelphia , Pa.
my Dad Jesse Llamas said that Satriani and Hendrix were as good as it gets in the straight rock world(he was more of a Bluesman),and his band opened for Zep and Jethro Tull in one of their first shows in the U.S. and felt that way about Satch and Jimi
very lucky
I think is the most positive energy you can get i was about 6 years first i heard it still gives me the same feelings

What a fun song.
The BEST guitar ballad ever played. The whole album is great!!!
"Ballad"? I'll give you Always With Me Always With You but this is just rocking fun
I would say "Love Thing" might be a better ballad of his, but this is an excellent rock track!!
When Joe rocks......................people listen !! 😎👍🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Doesn't hurt is that Joe is the coolest guy ever. I've been lucky enough to meet and greet several times.
Lucky enough to see Satriane live in MMRDA mumbai.guitar has no limit. This number makes me ride my car and bike.
This Song is So Awesome, I Don't Have Words. Apparently, Neither Did Joe.
The Ibanez has a song like no other guitar. Its almost to easy to play. If you jump from a Les Paul to an Ibanez. You can totally tell. I have met Js. Nicest guy you will ever meet. Took time out & this was the 80’s. He was a busy man. I lived next to his grandparents in Winchester Ma. I don’t know if he gave them the tickets for us or they were Xmas gifts I was young 12-13. Hard worker. I have seen a lot of greats Eric C. Stevie RV. He plays differently. Very hard while making it look simple. No blues face when stretching out cords. Like playing the piano or keyboard with posture. But you listen & at points your like what’s he doing to that poor thing. Your guitar is gonna catch on fire.
Satch is one of the greatest guitar players/innovators of our time! I have an original 95 era Ibanez JS 100 Wizard Neck (-w- SDs🎉 'coil-tap') that is still the best playing and sounding guitar I've ever had! 😀🎸
I could play this song on a continuous loop all Summer 24/7.
NO Govan, No Vai, NO Timmons, NO Sfogli, NO Bettencourt, NO Petrucci without Joe. HE is the biggest Influence of this genre of music
I was a huge EVH, George Lynch, Neal Schon, Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, K.K. Downing and Glenn Tipton, Matthias Jabs, and Wolf Hoffmann etc. etc. etc. fan. And Joe literally zoomed in on Norrin Radd's surf board and picked up all of the guitar god nonsense and pile drived them all on their ear. He definitely changed the game in the most down to earth and wholly likeable way possible.
It never ends though... Jeff Beck, Al DiMeola... ground breakers that never get the credit they deserve.
Of course none of this would have ever happened if aliens hadn't dropped off Jimi Hendrix that one time. ;)
Hendrix sucks
The Wah pedal champion of all time
"im sorry officer but the speedlimit and redlights do not apply when summer song is playing"

My favorite Joe Satriani song. Greetings from Montreal!
This song embodies the summer season so well. Powerful, like the sun gazing down on you. Long and extensive, like the feeling of the summer day(s). Energetic and lively, like a summer's festival. I love this song.
He's a Genius. Have you ever heard a guitar wail like that?
One stop football ❤️
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR JOE SATRIANI! A REAL GUITAR HERO AND A MÁSTER OF THE SIX STRINGS! 🤘🤘🎸🎸😎😎
Not a guitar solo guy, and didn't remember the name of this song. But I did remember the melody, and searched for it until I could find that memory of that time. Found it! This dude can play, and the composition is perfect for that time and place that it created a memory for us. Well done dude, this is a classic, tried and true in the memory of my life. TY kindly.
This is the song that made me discover the amazing Joe Satriani long time ago!! The Extremist album is fuc****GREAT 🔥
...And Joe keeps playing better than ever like the good wine.
God and all bless Joe.
i remember listening to this awesome jam back in 1992. still sounds amazing as it did then.
Every time he signed all our stuff, he would answer our stupid questions. Took pictures with us. And he's just the coolest guy ever.
Responsible for thousands of speeding tickets since the 80s. No regrets. Would do it again. 🎸🏄🇺🇸
This is some of the most beautiful guitar playing i've ever heard!
This dude is my favorite guitarist!
I love the part at 3:32. What a melody, what a sound.
My favorite part of the song
Who can possibly dislike this masterpiece? I can't believe it.

This tune kicks ass. Satch smokes on this song. This is perhaps one of the greatest guitar instrumentals of all time. The lead work at the end is as soulful as it is technically fluent and virtuosic.
Couldn't have said it any better!
Man....brings back some great memories. My buddy Matt and I in school learning how to play guitar...dreaming we could play half as good as Joe satriani, Steve Vai, Eddie van halen, or Eric Johnson...
I was SO thrilled when I first heard this work and discovered The Extremist. As a violinist, I had always associated instruments with featured performances and never felt satisfied when hearing blistering guitar solos limited to short segments within songs. This title introduced a whole new world to me. Thanks for the years of inspiration, Joe!
true early 90s music. nice
My 6 week old child love this.
After years of listening to this song, i still get the chills all over my body when i listen to it, just like the first time i heard it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

such a GREAT song and guitarist !
Chills. Same here. Gotta love it!! Lol
I'm a teacher. To me, this song and theme to Endless Summer expresses the joy and exhilaration of summer.
3:34 - 3:45 is my favourite piece of Satch playing. Every time I hear it, it sends shivers up my spine!
I love Satriani!!!!
I vote on bringing back the 90s!
The lyrics of this song are based on a true story.
Yes, correct! Joe mentions that in a piece in the New Yorker and Guitar Player magazines.
I don't hear any lyrics
What lyrics
hahahahahhaaaa, nice and very funny comment
"N O T H I N G"
I first heard the song on G3 live in concert cassette. The album cover looked so good that bought it right away. The songs blew me away. Satriani, Vai and Eric Johnson really made me want to listen to every song again and again and study those details of guitar playing.
One of the coolest tunes I listened to on my Walkman in the early 1990’s when I caught the Satriani bug
101.5 KGB FM the DSC in San Diego starts their morning show off with this song everyday, never get tired of it
One of the most bad assed jams there is. Love playing it cranked flying down the freeway .
If youtube existed back in 2000 this song would open 98% of the videos
Shreds as well as anyone there's ever been, but there's never been anyone as melodic.
One of my favorite, if not, favorite guitarist. Go Joe.
3 summers ago I was in congestive heart failure and I was in the hospital my sister asked me Scotty if you don't pull out of this and we have to bury you what songs do you want us to play for you? I pulled out my phone put it on RUclips and started this song and I said as I'm getting lowered in the ground play this song and Eruption by Van Halen send me off with something bad ass
This song is awesome, from the album "llena tu cabeza de rock 1993" in Colombia, I was young in 1993 of course, and I still have the CD. Masterpiece.
CD? 😊
This is the United States of America. This is our pulse. We need to get back to this. Someone tell me I'm wrong, I know I'm not.

You can't mistake the 90's for any other era of time. I think the planet was cultivating the most creativity during this period.
