    Thanks for the great review on this new BMW. I love the look of the new front end on this bike. I hated the lopsided ugly lights on the previous model.

      No problem! It's a great looking bike and I think it looks really clean and smart. Personally I quite liked that asymmetric front end but I know a lot of people hated it!

    I sort of agree its a bike you love to try but are happy to give back, probably get bored. I had a VFR 750 years ago that was so good I can't remember riding it. Does that make sense

    • @SamVBikes

      Yes! Definitely agree. They are incredible bikes, but there's no real emotion to riding them... it's just faultless. Fine if you want a track weapon, or reliable commuter, but not if you want a toy bike to de-stress from work!

    The old squinty eyed headlights were not a great draw but they really worked on this bike imho, giving it attitude. I rode a 2019 previous gen. After 15 minutes I had to stop and get off because I found the vibes through the pegs and bars too much. I am used to riding Triumphs and Hondas which don't suffer. Such a shame BMW can't make this bike vibe free otherwise it would be perfect, but not in grey with yellow. The red white and blue is the best colour scheme. The engine is simply awesome.

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 года назад

      I agree! It wasn't the prettiest front end with the asymmetric Headlights but it gave it an identity! I didn't find the 2018 onward bikes to be too bad, but the ones before that were really bad!

    • @alexmorgan3435
      @alexmorgan3435 2 года назад

      @@SamVBikes OMG. They must have been truly awful. How come other manufacturers can produce pretty much vibe free bikes or bikes with minimal which can be put down to character, but BMW on the other hand seems to struggle? Bizarre.

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 года назад +1

      It's odd isn't it! Unless the test riders at some manufacturers have ridden vibey bikes for years and its killed the nerve endings... so they can sit on a misfiring single cylinder and think its smooth haha!

    • @alexmorgan3435
      @alexmorgan3435 2 года назад

      @@SamVBikes LoL. Such a shame as I really love the previous gen S1000R with the squinty light. I know their XR suffered from vibes as well. Maybe some of us are more sensitive than others? But if you have ridden bikes that aren't vibes and then jump on one such as a BMW that is then you really notice it. I wouldn't buy one simply for this reason. After several hours your hands, fingers, wrists, soles of feet would be numb and tingling. Not for me. KTM bikes have lots of 'character' ie vibes but these are totally different to the really unpleasant vibes/buzz I have experienced riding the S1000R and I guess afflicts the XR as well. I like the look of the new S1000RR, gorgeous bike but with vibes, no. The old squinty eyed S1000RR didn't work in the looks dept for me. Anyway thanks for your replies. Good luck with your channel. Might get Monomoto trackers on the strength of your review for my bikes. Many thanks.

    • @SamVBikes
      @SamVBikes  2 года назад +1

      @@alexmorgan3435 Agreed! I think we must all have different sensitivity to it but you're right, I'm surprised how different the vibes can be on different bikes. Some are vibey but not annoying!
      Thank you very much! I really recommend the Monimoto - Doing a vid in a few weeks as more of an actual demo of its capabilities so might be worth waiting for that if you're on the fence. Thanks for watching and the comments! Ride safe

    Nice one Sam, I do like these bikes, for me it would have to be the M sport colours, I can't stand the primer grey as it looks like the skipped a process at the factory. What an amazing bit of kit though.

      Not much is 'clinical' when you are using the bike for what it is designed for. It's too good for ordinary use, but if you are pushing things to the limit, you demand everything this bike has to offer. When you are going 160-180mph, the last thing you want is something less than super clinical. Your attention is on accuracy with the threat of death during each maneuver. That is what the bike is designed for, the adrenaline junkies.

    Wait what the heck, the gas cap isn’t keyless too?! You’ve just removed any rationale for having keyless to begin with. If you need the key to start the bike, enable the steering lock, or the gas cap, then having keyless on the other two is pointless. Really strange BMW didn’t make it all keyless. It’s become a huge selling point on my F900R.

      I own quite a few pairs because I have a tendency to buy gloves I don't need haha!
      The Knox, and more recently the Goldtop gloves are my summer go-to's. The Dainese, and Gerbing's are my touring/winter gloves as they are warmer and I don't mind them getting beaten up a bit! Then a few misc ones I rarely wear anymore!

    Reliability is the main reason I'm having a hard time considering a European bike. They are like that 10 of 10 drop dead sexy swimsuit model you dated but she was unstable with alot of baggage and you can't depend on her. And the Japanese bikes are like the cutie who is regular good looking girl who is just dead reliable and always has your back no matter what and very stable with no baggage. I just wish Europeans could make a reliable bike like the Japanese because they definitely make the best looking bikes. Then you have American bikes that are ugly and unreliable so we don't even talk about American bikes they basically don't exists as far as I'm concerned when it comes to bikes I will buy.
