Black people have always been here...since before it was America. The only Distinctly an original American musical styles originate from Africans who innovated those styles here on this soil...prior to, during and after America was named. I love your point - we are all Americans and we are all here together - but it is better to be fully informed so as not to give the impression that this is somehow new.

Whenever someone asks me what kind of music I like, I always say "Black music". There is a serious correlation between melanin and musical skill. It's just better. I heard that intentional dissonance on "free" 1:06 Usually the chord sounds clear, but this time it's jumbled up on purpose. It's like the arranger is asking, "Are we TRULY free?" That's powerful, I'm glad they slipped something in subtly, but still showed the thoughts of the arranger.
OH MY EARS! They have received an awesome sound! This tough to sing as a soloist with a backing track but to preform this acapella and sound awesome while doing it! Perfection.

Brilliant brilliant brilliant! Literally nearly brought me to tears on the second listen bc this was art! The way in which they chose to sing the song told a story. There are two Americas. Beyond the two both sides are brave, proud Americans! Whoever pieced this together deserves recognition!
