Brakes often dont warp but pulsate due to uneaven pad trasfer. The way to fix it is to rebed to get the brakes nice and hot with several repeated stops then let them cool without coming to a complete stop. Be careful, do this in a safe manner "off road" only.
Absolutely correct . Stopping from speed, then sitting with your foot on the brakes. The part of the rotor beneath pad stay hot and pad material etches into the metal.
Finally, a commenter with intelligence! I’ve been trying to tell people this for years (I used to be an engineer at a brake manufacturer). New pads usually cure the pulsation!
Rust on the face of the brake disk can cause this also. Clean the face of the disk with a drill attachment and no more shake. Also put minimal to no anti-seize on the face of the brake disk where it meets the wheel.
Ceramic brake pads are notorious for causing hot spots and rotor warping. When you think about it, ceramics don't absorb heat. So, all the heat generated by braking gets transferred directly to the rotor and not shared with the pads. Semi-metallic pads are better for this problem. However, they tend to wear out faster!
Shakes in the front, replaced the front rotors..gone for 2k miles, then cameback....as you said, rears are now needed, i can see black spots all over them.

The brake rotors being made today are using a "new" metal alloy compound that should not be used for vehicle braking systems. The rotors are cheaper that using solid steel. That's why they warp. They are designed to warp.Remember folks. EVERY company that manufacturers ANY product, will make their products cheaper by the least money possible. Even if it can be made a penny cheaper - It's a done deal. It's the consumer's that pay the price for cheap, shoddy goods, especially in vehicle's made across the world. Stands to reason why there are sooo many vehicle recalls, and vehicle failures that can cause death. Cheaper is easier, and crossing fingers that the product lasts for at least a year. .

Four different mechanics said they were fine after replacing rotors and brakes, but the shaking continued and warped the new rotors repeatedly, so my husband replaced the calipers and the shaking stopped.
I will subscribe to your channel just for your responsiveness! 👍🙂
@@sarahbeee oh wow glad u figured that out usully I mention when I do brake change video caliper has to be smooth when compression it
I changed my rotors and maybe a year later it started again
It can happne I get cars come back after 6 months. So next brake change make sure all slider pins on caller is nice and easy to move and use some good silicon based grease make sure it’s not at the top of pin make sure caliper is not hard to compress and hopefully that would do it and avoid driving through puddle of waters
@@RBTheMechanic well can't help the rain I'm in the south. But I'm going to change to slotted and drilled rotors. I think alot of heat got to my drivers side. Thanks for the advice
@@koffinNAILS those wount help but I understand can’t avoid rain but puddle of water like don’t go through water that’s deep enough to smudge rotor in to super hot rotor will warm with instant pressure of brake caliper and temp drop and boom it has done it
@@RBTheMechanic well thanks for the info. You get a sub
damn, my mechanic had mine sanded and refinished and they still vibrate, I am going to another guy to have them replaced, hoping only the fronts.
Sanding or resurfacing wount work I would replace new rotors
@@RBTheMechanic yeah, I should have just went with new ones, I think he was trying to skip on the extra work, he said the rotors were fine though.
@@joesmith9216 yeah replace them and do a well cleaning u set the hub area
Dam, I didn’t think of that … how if they resurface yr rotor it can still be warp if they don’t do it right … I only resurface my rotor cause it was a stock rotor
Yeah been there done that. Best to replace it
@@RBTheMechanic
Yea , I had all my rotors turns and all new brakes , not even 1 year and my rotors are warp …
My exact experience right now
Oh yeah
What if it still shakes after new one installed?
Did u clean the hub? Did u do all 4?
My also shaking when is in low speed..
Dose it shake only when beaking?
@@RBTheMechanic yeah
@@mahfuzul2015 yup then defiantly need new brakes and rotors
@@RBTheMechanic no
@@RBTheMechanic I did buy it from company, genuine parts
New rotors and brake still shaking
Did u change all 4 and did u clean the surface where rotor sits on hub
Hey man so I changed my front rotors and my brakes looked great they where still new and I still felt shaking when o brake, then I changed my sway bar bushings thinking it would fix it but it didn’t
It’s an 03 Tacoma
I feel the shaking and jumping of car when I slowly brake but when I very quickly brake it’s not as strong
Did u clean the hub and make sure rotor sits flush did u change all rotors
@@RBTheMechanic only the 2 front ones I think I have drums in the back that I didn’t
@@David-qw2iv Re check ur work make sure the rotor where it sits on hindi nice and clean it can also be defective rotors also it can be due to brakes uneven surface
@@RBTheMechanic you don’t think it can be the back drums?
@@David-qw2iv it can be usually I recommend all
My brakes where fine I add new tires then straight way am having that shaking filling at 50ph
If it shakes on when u press brake the it’s brake related if it shakes high speed and ur not pressing brake then you tires are off balance and balancing will take care of it
@@RBTheMechanic thanks it was fine till I changed the new tires
@@hitmen2025 yup might be off balance so notice that if ur not pressing brake peddle then it’s tires off balance but if it only chases when pressing brake the. Brake related
@@RBTheMechanic it’s a rover 75 my8 😂 got a lot of memory’s that’s why am still keeping it now it’s been a week random days in the morning when I drive it shake back foreword could it be the spark plugs thanks RB
@@hitmen2025 then it would shake ever on start up that’s misfire your talking about
Other mechanics calls it the hot spots
Yup hot sport!!! It is!!!
But don't a bad tire could make it shake also?
I got video on that diffrent type of shake high speed off balance shake eroded rotors shake would occur when braking and bad tires all times even low 5 mph
i cud jus tell dis guys from nyc😂😂
Use to live there now from NJ
@@RBTheMechanic the workshop jus got that nyc vibe😂😂 great vid tho keep it up
RB are you sponsored by Napa or something? 😂 turning rotors is a great way to save money. Those rotors in your hand are not machinable though
Nope I don’t turn rotors better to replace cheaper not less turning
The brake rotors being made today are using a "new" metal alloy compound that should not be used for vehicle braking systems. The rotors are cheaper that using solid steel. That's why they warp.
They are designed to warp.Remember folks. EVERY company that manufacturers ANY product, will make their products cheaper by the least money possible. Even if it can be made
a penny cheaper - It's a done deal. It's the consumer's that pay the price for cheap, shoddy goods, especially in vehicle's made across the world. Stands to reason why there are sooo many vehicle recalls, and vehicle failures that can cause death. Cheaper is easier, and crossing fingers that the product lasts for at least a year.
.
Yup new cars are failures parts are made cheap
Damn dr suese is getting it one her one there one everywhere lmao
