To add on to what your dad was saying...remember you had poor ppl living in the hood...they didnt travel out the hood...all they knew is where they live that's it...so when new rapper's came about in different areas...that was our way of visiting the hood where they are at without even going to their hood....we would have no ideal that they party in the woods where they are from...now we know...that's cool...your dad is a truly hip-hop head...I respect that...I like how he break down hip hop in our era...I'm 42 years old.
Pops gets it, knows his hip hop history. I grew up in Philly before moving to ATL. Took me a while to get into ATL trap but outlast had always been, and still remain, my favorite hip hop artist(s) to this day. Big Boi might be the most underrated rapper in history

Outkast and Goodie Mob brought Atl back into Hip Hop. They made that smooth, ridin music.
Yeah, back then, every region had their own sound, now it seems like not matter where they from, everybody sounds the same. The only real exceptions are the older cats, or the young guys with that old school vibe to them like Kendrick, Cole, and guys like that.
