    DPG's album Dogg Food is probably the most slept on album ever. The lyrics, the funky beats, the style and the additude made it a true Death Row era classic. Daz's Revenge Retaliation and Get Back people sleep on even more.

    He's right at the start about Kurupt. That guy was amazing with his freestyle flow. Nobody could touch him. In fact, they used to hold auditions with upcoming rappers performing a battle against Kurupt to see if they had game.

    This is a Daz beat

    • @themadrapper101
      @themadrapper101 6 лет назад +15

      That was mixed and co-produced by Dr. Dre. They made beats together and Dre also mixed the whole Dogg Food album

    • @DeeJoyce
      @DeeJoyce 6 лет назад +2

      themadrapper101 There are mixed opinions on Dre's producing contribution to this Dogg Pound Album. Dre was given credit for some lesser known producer's work. Suge reported convinced producers to put Dre's name on beats and production to sell More records. But the problem is Suge didn't pay producers for their contribution. Alot of Shady practices led to Dre's abrupt departure. Neither was DJ Quik. They've both won millions of dollars in lawsuits from Suge Knight/Death Row. Not trying to take anything away from Dr Dre's accomplishments.

    • @themadrapper101
      @themadrapper101 6 лет назад +8

      Daz even said Dre mixed Dogg Food.. Shit even says in the credits it was recorded at "Dre's Crib" .. You can tell Dre put his touch on them beats cause none of Daz albums or any Dogg Pound album after ever had that same crystal clear sound again. "What Would U Do" especially sounds like Dre produced with Daz on that one. He is credited for mixing it. No Daz beats were ever knocking like that again after Dre stopped working with him.

    • @DeeJoyce
      @DeeJoyce 6 лет назад +2

      themadrapper101 YEP Dre is credited with mixing the album. Daz is credited with production on this track. Dre doesn't have any production credits on this album. He & Suge of course have Executive Producers credits on the album. But that's the Money category. They copaid the expenses of creating the album. I was surprised to see that Soopafly produced one of my favorite tracks "So Much Style" always thought Daz produced it. DJ Pooh was a producer on this Album as well. Dre's mixing is of course top notch.

    Hey yo, on the real I've been actually watching you guys for a while. And i love the game that's being given on every video from dad to his son. And i see the way your son is not just listening to you. But enjoying the time, conversation, and the gems. That you are giving him. And just watching the way that he's receiving it. And the respect, and seeing that he actually, loves,respect and appreciate you. Is so big. I have the same connection with my two sons, and my 3 daughter's. I want to commend you on being a great father. And you're son for loving and appreciating you,on everything that you have to offer him. I just wish that every father can have that connection that we both share with our kids. It's truly a blessing from God. So big up to you and yours king.

    Yup dat wuzz supposed to be Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat!! Lol

    • @DeeJoyce
      @DeeJoyce 6 лет назад +3

      Snoop Dogg discovered Lil Bow Wow aka Shad Moss. He was signed to Death Row as a kid. But JD saw his potential commercially if he stopped trying to be gangsta and signed him to So SO Def. He followed JD's formula his album went platinum. Snoop was Shad's idol that's why he named hisself bow wow, a frequent phrase in Snoop's lyrics. It also kept the Dogg theme going. The South were the newcomers to hip hop culture. So they were neutral. Jermaine Dupri and Da Brat were frequently on the West Coast working. But the next week they would be on East Coast making music with JayZ, Puffy, or Biggie. Suge Knight thought they should choose sides in a BEEF that they weren't involved in. DEATHROW declared war on JD and Da Brat.So did Tupac who was frequently in ATL kicking it with JD,Brat,and TLC. Tupac wasn't friends with Suge, but he felt a loyalty to him for signing him straight out of prison.Tupac actually had more East Coast ties having lived in Baltimore,Ny, and NJ. But due to the shooting in NYC, seemingly Tupac had misdirected beef with former friends. Fueled by Suge's tyranny, ego,and greed. Because of growing tensions Jermaine and Brat aligned themselves more with the inclusive New Yorkers at the time. East Coast vs West Coast was a media fueled "Beef" that was very profitable for many people. However the confused public/fans carried these so called "beefs" which were usually overhyped misunderstandings that led to the WORST 2 years 96-97 in Hip Hop history. However Snoop and JD remained friends. Snoop even in later years defended JD in a producer's beef against Dupri vs Timberland and Dr Dre.Snoop said Dupri's contribution to music was significant and it was a case of them bullying the lil guy. JD is a Grammy winning producer, he significant because he's also a songwriter. He took Usher's 2nd album to 6xplatinum having co written and producer the 3 platinum singles from "My Way" after Puff produced Usher's 1st album to no commercial success. He passed on working on Usher's 2nd album...produced also by Babyface. JD helped catapult Mariah's career as well. Sorry I don't like when people don't give JD his due credit. The Dogg Pound at this time was beefing more with other West Coast artists like BG Knocc Out and Dresta, who were West Coast Rap duo who were Compton Crips. Their beef with Dogg Pound was due to Death Row Records headed by Suge and Dre fued with Eazy E Ruthless label who signed BG and his brother Dresta. They answered Dr Dre and Snoop's diss record aimed at Eazy E/Ruthless. "Real Muthafuckin G's" is one of the greatest responses to a diss track ever...added to "DPG KILLA" and Eazy E signing Bone Thugs. Those moves took Eazy E from being punchline of jokes to his Real Boss Status that Deathrow couldn't tarnish. Fun Fact: Bone Thugs N Harmony are the only act to have worked with Tupac at Death Row and Biggie At Bad Boy Records before their deaths. I love your channel...new sub! #RESPECT THE CULTURE

So JD tried it first with Kris Kross on "The Bomb" (1993)album which introduce Da Brat. Then by 94' Da Brat debut had a Doggystyle vibe thank God she didn't do skits. But Brat can spit doe

Listen to "Jump" by Criss Cross that infused similar samples but had an entirely different sound. JD was different, he wasn't G funk but he had some excellent production and song writing skills. He's a misunderstood dude. In the mid 2000s, JD signed Daz to Virgin records. When Daz didn't have a label deal. Daz released "So So Gangsta" in 2006 with about 4 or 5 tracks produced by JD. It's Daz's second highest selling solo album.

      That word bitting is misused in Hip Hop culture. It was founded on sampled beats from other artists work....lol. There are only so many flows and cadences. So their are bound to be some similarities between rappers. Not to mention before and after the "BEEF" Brat was a protege/friend of Snoops. Those "beefs" sold albums...that is all.

      Dee Joyce Go back and look at JD and SoSo def. When Dre and Snoop were hot they copied their style, When Jay Z blew they copied his style. They pretty much followed whatever was hot. Just what i seen.

      Mr & Mrs Plummer Who copied who? JD produced for JayZ and helped him CROSSOVER into COMMERCIAL Music market on his 2nd album. "Reasonable Doubt" wasn't a commercial success. Critically acclaimed albums don't get you to the money. Jayz went Platinum on his 2nd album that JD produced and mixed on. His credentials cross genres...to Usher 6x platinum albums on which he has writing and production on it's 3 platinum singles. Mariah Carey Albums he executive produced and co wrote. But for people that want to see his catalog as far back as Whodini and Rundmc. Google Jermaine Dupri or JD grammy award winning producer. He's also inducted into ASCAP HALL OF FAME. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
