Milpitas is great. Lots of great food options if you are a foodie, entertainment for kids like Legoland, D&B and more opening. The Great Mall is good for shopping, entertainment and it keeps getting better. Also, the Farmers market every Sunday and Trader Joe’s opened. I am just waiting for the Fields to open up and the date is TBD. Milpitas has a Sports Center for kids and adult activities at reasonable prices. As a parent, there are a ton of preschools to choose from and MUSD is great public school system. Also, there are private schools to choose from too. The smell is not as bad as before but comes in once in a while especially North Milpitas. Not sure if the City did anything but the smell use to be very bad. Milpitas seems to have more community events happening but not consistent. Seems like they are still experimenting on that front. I just know 4th of July is always at the Milpitas Sports Center.
Lived right off Montague/Landess exit in San Jose for years. This area still gets hit by the landfill smell; it is especially worse during summer or warmer months.
@@SpencerHsu 2016-2020. The landfill smell was a huge deciding factor when I purchased my property in 2020. Settled for a smaller unit in Fremont over a similarly priced property nearby.
That undeveloped lot on milpitas Blvd and Dixon landing use to be a dental office. It burnt down. That dentist never rebuild or sold. I guess this dentist doesn't have the appetite to do any type of development, either. It's a shame.
You would think insurance would’ve taken care of it to be able to build a new commercial plaza but guess not. It’s also a prime area to add another fast food drive too. Perhaps they are just squatting for future opportunities

Thanks for the feedback! I think residents also get used to the smell just like if they were living next to train tracks :)

Makes sense. What years have you been there and has it gotten any better or been the same. Or you also just got used to it?

@pngo2017 you were there for quite a while! I lived in the city for nearly 2 decades and it didn’t bother me but to each their own
