ArmaHobby FM-2 Wildcat 1/72 Plastic Scale Model Kit Build
A nice little kit of a classic WW2 Warplane the USN Wildcate. One of the classics, in this case Okinawa 1945 off USS Petrof Bay. I have added what I hope is some realistic weathering, preshading also and a flight deck section.
My thoughts on the Wildcats - they are the forgotten heros of the Pacific War. A lot of the hard work of the early part of the war was done by Wildcats, but they are overshadowed by Corsairs etc. which come later. Much the same as Hurricanes did much of the early work from the Expeditionary Forces to the Battle of Britain but Spitfires take the credit.
This is a nice little kit, I would do it again. Would not recommend it for beginners though. The old style undercarriages can be difficult.

Thanks! I always worry about the fine line with weathering. But yeah was thinking a few months of salt and sun.
