Wow, watching this video after the main story has finished, and hearing MatPat say that there's "nothing supernatural" going on is wild. No spoilers, but there's A LOT more going on than just the mayor's missing cat.
I guess everything about the main story just falls under the umbrella of "gave me the answer," supernatural and possibly extraterrestrial stuff alike. Though I would've liked to see him figure out whether or not Ceruleon Skye is a human who lives on Mars or an outright alien.
Matpat really missed the opportunity to say “Thanks for washing” at the end.

I would love it if you would revisit this theory as a LOT has been added to the game since this video came out, including the main story finishing up, revealing a lot of the hidden lore of the game.
I don’t normally watch these on a day to day basis, but being a regular Smii7y viewer I couldn’t resist watching this, and just seeing the milk bag himself in the video just brought a smile to my face 🙂

Do you know what's funny, the newest update which came out like 2020-2022 I think, completely cancels out that you're the villain because in the ending by some ancient civilization magic you actually prevent the volcano from erupting therefore proving that you are the hero, also if you're curious yeah he we got the missing cat showed in the ending

I could prove the first claim about the ash existing before the volcano erupts wrong. See, there’s a setting that allows you to see the dirt type that you’re cleaning. For example: Rust, dust, bubble gum, etc… I have never seen ash in that UI. Also, as far as I know, the volcano doesn’t erupt until 2066. Edit: Chips Ahoy.

Hey Matpat if you play through all the career mode of the game there actually is an ending that might be worth making a theory on, if you're down for it.
The ending is fairly easy to understand, it's not needing a whole theory to it
But, that being said, there is a bunch of random stuff that happens and none of it makes sense till the end of the game

Imagine, the volcanic eruption happens and Power Washing Sim turns into a first person survival game lol. With your only weapon being a powerful pressure washer, not lethal, but enough to push people away and keep yourself safe while scurrying away and scavenging for food and supplies as you wait for rescues

It's a great marketing tactic, I give you that, put some "deep dark lore" in a ridiculous simply game concept like PowerWashing and you have yourself a fanbase that will keep the game alive for as long as possible.

i did some research and i think muckingham is supposed to be buckingham but they used m instead of b for the pun buckingham uk i also think that because of like you said the british terms and how our character isnt the only british person in the game so it makes me think that the game dose not even supposed to take place in the usa because like you said the creators of the game is a british company so it would more sense for the game to take place in the uk instead of the usa

Hey Matpat so there’s this game series called “The Room”. It’s a mystery/puzzle game with 5 games in the franchise and an impossible lore because it’s all very cryptic. You have no idea who you are or why your doing this stuff that “someone” is telling you to do. If you could do a theory on this then that would mean the world to me and a lot of other people. Also I’ve been watching you for about 6 years and I love your videos please keep up the great work. 😁

Funniest part about all of this is I live in Oregon, and near me is a school called Buckingham. Wow, I just love theory’s.
Matpat there is some deep lore behind this game series ‘The Room’, the game series starts with you in a room with a big vault, from here you dive deeper into mysterious puzzles without ever knowing who you are or who the man behind the letters is. It’s surely worth checking out because this lore is THEORY FOOD

That's probably why the characters wear hazmat suits. If you play Co-Op you find out that you're both wearing a full body hazmat suit for just cleaning with water.
I mean, think about the stuff you’re walking through and getting splashed onto you.
