Thanks for the review. Watching this made me spend time cleaning/lubing all doors then reading the manual. I use a dremel small wire rotary on door pads and brass followed by contact cleaner spray. Few things I had forgotten you mentioned: Pushing any lock lever inward then locks all doors. Both red arrows lit in console lock switch indicate all doors locked.
My 2004 2500 Sprinter has the exact problem.. I thank you for this vid.. I knew about cleaning contacts but that dam lock button on dash I could never figure out so again ty for teaching this old fool how to play lockem up fun. UPDATE: Sanded all contacts works awesome.. Broke off slider door pull handle a week ago cause the latch would get stuck and I forced opened and snapped it .. The after market handles are pretty much factory but I noticed the seals are not that good.. These handles break all the time so i have a few new ones just in case in garage. My slider works awesome now like new. Them van wall slider contacts are tough to get sanded out but I took one for the team getn er dun.
Each latch also has a micro switch on the side of mechanism. Take the mechanism out (the one that wouldn’t lock the van from inside handle) and clean/lube, make sure micro switch clicks when locked.
My central locking has the same issue, really good to find out it is just another common problem with sprinters, like rust around the windscreen. I really like this channel as it is specifically sprinters and I am grateful for your expertise and knowledge, it has helped me in getting to know and familiarize myself with my own 2006 T1N. Thanks!
Have you ever seen the rear door lock when it should unlock, an unlock when it should lock? I also have the flashing passenger side light I can’t seem to be able to fix. Cleaned all the contacts and nothing.
Yes! The contacts in your door jam have been turned upside down or the wires to them got swapped. Most likely the contact plate fell out of the van wall and someone put it back in upside down.
No, the eBay seller I link sells replacement plastic parts for our key fobs, but not the electronics inside. If the van has electric locks Austin can make new fobs that work. www.sprinterkeys.com/?fbclid=IwAR1HzJe7_lQFpon_pQQ8FPPcGpO9yov2Exor4Vngb_pM2XwmzXOijl_q5Hs
Howdy Florida Van Man and everyone else! I've got a 2005 T1N dodge sprinter 2500 and it has that lock unlock, lock unlock lock symptom. With mine the passenger door and passenger side sliding door wont lock when I try and lock the van using the fob or central locking button on the dash. I have to physically unlock and lock them with a key or from inside the cab. I tried all the methods in your video inlcuding thorouhgly cleaning all of the contacts, do you have any other recommendations for me to try? Not sure if this is helpful at all but the inside door panel for the passenger sliding door is a wood panel so the previous owner definitely replaced the original cloth/vinyl panel, this is a passenger style van.
@@FloridaVanMan Thanks for the prompt response! No twitching or noise coming from them when i hit the lock or unlock button. I guess I should look into door lock actuator switch then yes?
If your van ever had a fob there will be an electric lock button on the dash and pushing one door handle in to lock the door should cause all doors to lock. Without those symptoms, your van doesn't have electric locks.
A CR2025 cell is 2.5mm thick the 25=2.5mm while a 2032 is 3.2mm thick 32 meaning 3.2mm, the 20 is outside diameter 20mm for both. DeoxIT is a contact cleaner many techs use, expensive but good it removes oxidation & seals, comes in stray but I like the needle dropper DeoxIT D100L a drop rubbed with a Qtip works great
The motor might be getting weak with age, but start with lube. If it only twitches the door handle when everything is lubed well, then replace the drive motor.
I have so much problem with the sliding that I just close and disconnect the wire loom inside the door. After months I’m having problems again that even double locking locks all door except passenger and I have checked every thing. Also have gone through two broken brass keys.
Epic I had this once with my drivers door and then I opened it up and all my wires had broken within my door in the rubber tube. Was bizarre but I guess they were old. What do I do if my center console button doesn’t work at all? Looks dead like no power or something I haven’t explored it yet I just know it doesn’t work. What would you check first?
Easy way to clean the contacts on the door switches - Cut off a pencil , chuck it in a cordless drill , use the spinning eraser to polish the contacts and pins…..

This is perfect timing, I'm having this problem right now!
We all are. LOL ! It is a constant struggle with these vans,, keeping the contacts clean and mechanisms lubricated.

@@FloridaVanMan you are amazing! I’ve been messing with that for years and now it works!
im wanting to buy a key setup like you have, if I buy a key fob from the ebay seller you linked should a locksmith be able to program it ?

If everything is lubricated and the door handle twitches but doesn't lock/unlock, the locking drive motor is likely tired and needs replaced.

My T1N didnt come with a key fob...was from an auction...so how would I know if it possibly had one or keyless entry option on my van?

My 2006 3500 quit flashing the lights to confirm doors are locked when using remote, still flashes to confirm unlock, any ideas?
One door is not reporting locked condition.
That’s what I thought but no lights are lit on switch and they all lock on first click on remote and stay locked.

We have seen two dead switches, fixed by replacing the switch. Can test with Ohm meter.
