- YOU NEED TO SECURE YOUR VAN!!
Today's video is about the Vanguardian, a security system installed on the outside of your vehicle which activates when any area of the zonal protected area is touched or tampered with.
Standard alarms will only activate once the doors have been damaged, this will activate before the damage has been done and gives you half a chance to get out there to defend your property or if that's not really your style, it will spook the thieves as they like to work in the quiet.
Hope you enjoy!!

With a white phos taped to the front of it. Just to make sure😂
Brilliant if only

Another worthwhile thing to do is put air-tags / Tile trackers on your most likely stolen tools. My Drill pinged from inside a local guy's shed. We had a polite chat - and I got it back.
One great difference of tile over air-tags is that you can set your trackers in the app to not be detectable by thieves.
With air-tags a thief can be alerted that a tracker is in their vicinity after a set length of time.
Yeah a huge pile of tools were just found in a communial toilet block at a caravan site because someone put airtags in some of their tools 👍🏻
How much is a 100 + air tags, I’m sure there’s more than a 100 tool in a work van,
@Dan-wo4bx We're not talking about the caravan club are we?
@@Bran_Redmaw yeah not sure what membership criteria you have to meet to pitch up there for a couple of nights ! Communial toilet so nobody will get collared for it . Police have asked if anyone has had tools nicked contact them with description and serial numbers so worth spending the time going through the van and take note of all serial numbers just in case !
I have an old Cattle Prod wired to my Transit. There have been several attempts but No damage, just puddles of pish from disabled bowels 😘

Good one, I've had a van door recked by two blokes trying to get in. I disturbed them before they got anything, they got in their car and waved as they drove off. It's a horrible experience and gutting. They were of a certain community of people i could tell. Police do nothing unless there's violence on either part. Scum bag low life's. Still pisses me off, and makes me paranoid. These alarms do look good, thanks for sharing 😊👍
Thank you for your comments and sharing your experience, and of course for watching, appreciated sir
I used to fit car alarms some years ago and it is very important to place the siren somewhere out of sight to prevent it from being disabled. This device really doesnt strike me as money well spent and I would rather not describe the ways it could be easly disabled.
Lump hammer them off, steal them, come back before new ones are fitted...
Company that "guarantees" them goes bankrupt.
Tool break- ins wouldn’t happen if unscrupulous tradesmen didn’t buy stolen tools. vicious circle
100% agree, good old supply and demand circle
Yep, I agree to a degree, but majority are taken by organised gangs and they end up in shipping containers.
I can see the local kids setting this off just for fun!
Wiring up the van to your electrical socket, 😂 may help ❤
Would be exciting 🤣

Get some caps connected to the van 😂😂😂😂😂
I put bars with drywall screws to stop people breaking in.
The police said that i could be charged if a theif was injured, when breaking into my van.
Did this with my garage hidden on the floor 😂😂😂
My van was done in a “secure” car park near Heathrow it’s lit and covered in cctv cameras. There are staff on site 24/7 it was parked 10m from the reception and you have to negotiate a barrier access system to get onsite. Staff had been told not to interfere as it’s too dangerous and not to bother phoning the Met as they never turn up. Just goes to show the intelligence of these thieves, all you need to do to see if a van is loaded is look at the rear wheel arches, I had to replace the side door but nothing was stolen as the van was empty. Next time I will just leave it unlocked.
Sorry to hear that mate it’s more of a pandemic than Covid!
Then your interior will go missing😂
@@nitroneal4998 let’s hope not!!
Could you not have improved springs installed to create the illusion that the van is empty?
I have motorcycle which I keep in a robust shed, I put lock on the door which was totally steel & wired it up to 220volts which I turn on after locking, I do not care if anyone gets electrocuted if they try to steal !

Fair play mate. On AC the thief would get a nasty belt rather than killed or really hurt. I've got bikes too, and I'm looking at rigging 240v.
the best security is one that can be seen ie big external locks, followed by electronic pir alarms inside and tools in locked bolted down boxes. but the old adage is if they want in they will get in. or just tow the van away.
My brothers work van has been broken into numerous times. He is a diamond driller, so his gear is mega expensive. I suggested he electrify the skin of his van when it is parked outside his gaff. A 0.01amp buzz for the initial warning (painful, but not overtly dangerous), if the scum come back after, a 1amp (fatal) jolt to make sure they don't try again. It's a shame it would be illegal, but when the police refuse to do what we pay them for, people will end up taking matters into their own hands. This is how vigilantes are born.
So true, and to the point! Gone stealth under ground, service only. Undercover Honda CR-V. Don’t fit into Honda, I don’t do the job. No van, smaller jobs less drama, less money, bigger time off with friends and family. If I don’t like you, I won’t fix/ repair your drama. Janitor here, just cleaning up other peoples electrical messes. After 30 years and a disabilty, got no other skills.
Adam it’s about layers of security. If you want to protect your van whilst at home invest in a Pyronix alarm and then add a Car Defender £30. This is a wireless device that adds to the house alarm and is designed to protect the vehicle from keyless entry theft, catalytic converter theft, tool theft. It has two technologies built in shock sensor and accelerometer (tilt). It can be set to trigger the house alarm and mobile app or just send a push notification to the app and the app says Car Defender activated.
Ok thanks for the advice!! 👍👍👍👍
David here from Artisan Security in Ireland. Pyronix alarm system with pyronix car defender and inertia sensors work a treat. Inertia sensors on the doors and car defender on the steering wheel. When they are trying to gain entry to the back they will make vibration triggering the devices before they gain entry. Car defender on steering wheel will trigger soon as vibration or turning of the steering wheel. But them on front doors if its feasible. Van just needs to be in close proximity to the house. Not to close the range is great.
@@DavidW576 all these systems need videos made on! Not enough people know about this stuff
We install the Pyronix systems and I was just saying this today there’s not very many videos on the products unless you know what you’re searching for.

Hi Shaun, no probs mate, thanks for watching my video! 👍
Thanks for this Adam. I used to have the Vanolarm but the issue was it was installed in the van so wasn’t loud enough. Gonna give this a go.
Every time I was trying this alarm out it made me jump lol so it should definitely be a deterrent
Funny, after being hit several times in my career in Australia, I had this idea numerous times but never applied it. Just found that it got in the way. Even though the product you are showing is flawless. Instead, I have 2 x deadlocks on both front doors. The nearside and rear doors are secured internally. No, you don't have to climb in to lock the doors. It is very discreet, basically undetectable from the outside. The only giveaway is if someone is watching how I do it which is quite difficult from a distance. Good luck gents.
I see youve got a tool safe, good start. Peel and steal is easily presentable with hook looks in the right places fitted by qualified locksmiths. Fitting your own is not good enough.
We have these on our work vans ,they are great
Possible major flaw with this one.
You mentioned you can train the key fob to work with additional ones, not sure how that is done, however what's stopping someone getting one of these fobs and pairing it up with yours? You get the exact same fobs on other alarm systems we have one on our summer house in the back garden so they are easily obtained these fobs.
Again not sure how you pair the fobs up to additional alarms but I'm going to imagine this could be a major flaw with this system.
Just another point, these guys breaking into vans these day's couldn't give a toss if an alarm is going off, there's usually more than one and carrying machetes or other weapons so although I know I can handle myself I just wouldn't risk running out my house if I heard my alarm going off and there is 2-4 guys with visible weapons on show. Police don't get involved anymore but they would if you went out and hurt one of those scummy rats.
We aren't protected enough these days and if you dare take it into your own hands it's you that's in the s*it, absolute madness really is.
Thank you for your comments, ok so I will try and answer your questions… you need original fobs to pair new ones up, this is not a high end ££££ security system, it has been designed to alert only.
Regarding the guys breaking into vans, there not all the same, some might walk away and the other serious gangs are another issue, I do have a way of sorting this in the event of it happening but I will be banned from RUclips for sharing it, and I will happily do time after being done twice with no help from the police
@sotaelectrical understand mate, we 100% should be allowed to defend our homes etc. Law always seems to favour the actual criminals here than the innocent victims.
I got charged with gbh years ago for giving a junkie a bit of a beating, guy was in the middle of mugging two young teenagers, and I get charged for stepping in, unbelievable mate.
Scum that steal from other's, can't stand them.
All you say is correct. I certainly wouldn't want to have the gun problems that the USA does, but it is statistically true that they have fewer problems with home burglary and things like van theft, because breaking in like that means you could get shot.
Just ordered 1 x dual and 2 singles with colour match for van , thanks for discount code saved £22 on order,
Nice mate hope it helps you sleep at night
When my car kept getting broken into (atleast 5-6 times!!), I ended up placing a shock sensor. They still tried but the alarm scared them off! Shock sensors are easy enough to wire into the standard alarm system and cheap as chips - you could place one on every door... and no batteries to install. Then followed by a 130db internal siren... good luck! Also you can install an insanely bright strobe light inside the van. Disorientating them is brill :D
Not only are the police not interested they expect you to do their work for them and even giving them clear video evidence they still do not bring charges, yet some assumed to be homeless guy not even doing anything except just sitting there not even begging you can find up to 10 police officers surrounding them even when that homeless person is not even homeless it was their assumption that the person was homeless, then told the person they had to leave the area or be arrested under section whatever of pace and vagrancy act, yet all the person did was sit on a bench to have a sandwich and a drink that they had just purchased, that was me in both instances, unfortunately even though i do have a mobile phone i do not always take it out with me everywhere or i would have recorded the situation, and yes i was being awkward because they had no legitimate reason to even approach me other than an assumption, they accused me of begging stating that's how i got the money for the sandwich and drink and that he saw me begging, all i said was bullshit i earn my money next thing chubby fucker called for backup and i was surrounded by literally 10 police offices searched without consent at which point they discovered i was not homeless after all and still told me to leave the area and not return or be arrested , just seems the police are more interested in clamping civil liberty than solving real crimes these days,
Unfortunately alarms are ignored by everyone because they are so frequently heard, thieves don't care about the noise, no one is going to confront a gang of em with weapons as they normally have for some tools, its not worth it. So this won't stop them at all just piss off your neighbours when it triggers accidentally or you forget to disarm and pull the handle and then stand there grabbing your remote to silence it. Sorry I'm just being realistic. And I have a van!!
Spot on demo Adam! Just bought a set 👍

Premier inn Totenham is rife, vans done nightly. Police and staff complicit. Ford makes about £350 a pop selling the catches they break doing it, doesn't give them incentive to make a more secure van
Great demo mate, thank you
Thanks for watching!!
Stick them on the inside of the doors, in the recesses. Maybe the keyfob will set it from outside?
Looks a nice bit of kit. I’d like to see it with a built in SIM card and be able to send a notification to your phone that it’s been set off, I’m sure this is something the company will look at in future developments.
I will suggest this for sure!!
Thanks for sharing and the discount code 👍
Thanks for watching!!👍👍
Is there a version that explodes bright yellow dye (permanent) over the “ would be” thieves?🤔
Sounds like a top selling invention to me!
An alarm is good for you but its not going to stop them, theyll try another one, my preference would be flames like in south Africa or electrcution but as that may cause you some problems what about pepper spray with an alarm.
Bulgarers will fill these kinds of allarms with foam to stop the noise from the allarm.
I heard stories like that before in home alarm systems. That why they are placed quite high.
This method only works with the old bell types of alarm, not the electronic ones. They put them high so the thief can not knock them off the wall into a bucket of water.
Seems decent but theres always a way unfortunately think they should just increase the punishment for break ins instead maybe like a finger or 2
I was a small tradesman with minimal tools that I took indoors every night and I had a sticker that said no Jaffa cakes left in this van overnight
Thank you for sharing about this alarm system.
I would also consider professional thieves potentially finding ways to disable the alarm by simulating the key frequency. It's essential to have a deterrent in place to prevent such attempts. One approach could be implementing additional security measures that notify the owner if the alarm is deactivated, such as receiving a text message or email alert. This added layer of security would provide peace of mind, especially during vulnerable times like late at night.
Addressing false alarms is also crucial for maintaining the effectiveness of the system. While sensitivity settings can help fine-tune the alarm's responsiveness, finding the right balance between sensitivity and reliability is key. Providing customizable sensitivity options, similar to those found in high-end dash cams, would enable users to adjust settings according to their specific needs and environment.
Overall, ensuring the alarm system is difficult to overcome and provides feedback and customization options for users will enhance its effectiveness and reliability.
Great comments, thank you for sharing all this info!!
I had something similar on my previous van. They just covered it in spray foam, which made it much quieter.
New van has magnetic sign-writing, so I can peel it off and it becomes a more anonymous white van. I fancy getting some signs made up with something like "Sanitary Waste Disposal" - I think they'd think twice about breaking in 🤣
When I was window fitting we would drop a door spindle through the top of the door. It would sit in the top part of the door and the frame. We also had a large security hasp on the back. Had one attempted break in the ripped the door handle off the side door, smashed a front window and been through the cab. However they never got in the back.
Electrify the doors and handles 😂
Would love too 🤣

@@ckarodipolicethepolice2301 maybe 40 years ago... These days its all plastic mate. Even the chrome look ones are plastic
those are basically shock motion sensors from amazon with the remote. the difference is the additional outdoor case to stick to the outside of the vehicle. one feature they could add to this concept are notifications that csn trigger events like email & text you an alert & maybe trigger cameras inside and around the van.
I did a high voltage “deterrent “ for a doctor with a soft top EType Jaguar, which had the roof cut open a couple of times whilst he was working at the hospital. He called me a couple of months later to disconnect it. When asked why, he said it was a wet night and the thief first tried the door handle triggering the sensor and firing the high voltage inverter. The man got a huge belt being fully grounded and was thrown more than a metre away from the car. Unfortunately another vehicle was going down the busy road at the time and consequently ran over him. The doctor was the physician on duty and had to operate on the thief! The man never knew whose car it was but the doctor didn’t want to risk it again!
I'll recommend this to a mate as he has just had his van broken into.

Alarms that have built in flame throwers or shotgun shells should be legal to fit in your vans that are simply impossible to trigger unless the locked door is opened without the use of a key or fob.
With CCTV, if you use a Eufy Camera system it will alarm when it detects a person in an area of your choosing at times of your choosing. It would be an ideal partner to this alarm system.
Alarms and cameras don’t stop stuff getting stolen. Locks and different layers of security do.
Alarm is a deterrent though
A blue led light is a great deterrent, like on the clifford alarms, I remember the lads years ago telling me when they were robbing cars once they seen the blue led they moved onto the the next victim
@@Thedar561 that’s interesting!! Thanks for sharing that!

Years ago fitting car alarms there was x2 system that were awesome alarm add on's being microwave and or ultrasonic witch you could use with convertible or soft tops without the roof, As soon as anything cross the invisible barrier being microwave the alarm was triggered. Cyclops alarms or Dynamco witch use to build the alarms for police if that helps anyone.
How do they work, Motion sensor? Earthing circuit? Proximity radar? And what happens if a strong wind shakes the van?
Acid to rapidly burn through the circuits, water & a high voltage battery to short the unit?
Not forgetting the obvious antenna attack grabbing the remotes code out of the air when you lock it at night. Does the code change everytime or is there a preset amount in there? etc
One man used a farming electric fence system to electrify his vehicle.
Anyone touching it got a non lethal but very unpleasant shock!

I'll be honest, looking at the remote and the units inside the cover, these remind me of the bike alarm which are sold on Amazon for £14 to £18, now I know there is more to them because of the outer case which houses the two alarms and the to cover, but it certainly looks like two chinese bike alarms in a box 🤔 so it looks to me like a slightly redesigned two tier box utilising cheap Chinese bike alarms, I had one on my motorbike 😂
I thought the same thing!
@@neiljarvis8911 I'm just being honest, that's exactly what it looks like to me 😏
Well said, they just put their company name on with a sticker, Chinese crap all day.
If I come quietly with taser and apply arc on this device will it burn 🔥 before alarm ⏰️ set off???
Dam, thought you was going to say the bottom button blows the thief’s fingers.
One question I would have asked the company is how unique are the key fob frequencies use the deactivate the alarm? It is trivial for criminals to purchase one of these devices and use a flipper zero to read the radio frequencies and be able to play them back. Or even reverse engineer the key fob radio signal to figure out the ranges that they use to deactivate the alarm and then simply create a flipper zero program to emulate it.
Awesome, do you know if it will work on a all over wrapped van?
What if they can mimic or hack the key fob to disarm the alarm? Car key fobs seem to be hacked all the time.
Thanks just used your code 👊🏻

I have a new Vito van but never have tools in as I only deliver my furniture in, I’m really thinking of adding side door windows so thieves can see nothing in it, just don’t want my van ruined

2 questions. Does it go off if you try your drivers door as units on back and opposite side. What about expanding foam sprayed over them to deaden the sound ? Not that I would want you to try that !
It does not go off if you handle the drivers door, you can get smaller ones to put on the front doors which I’m going to do, expanding foam… no idea.. won’t try it 🤣

I use ratcheting straps internally to secure doors. Thief would have to find the release to open the rear tool area.
if it detects shock it would be useful on the inside of the van and then cant be removed. One issue is the remote. The loop cracks in your pocket when you have a keyring on it
DeWalt have these installed on their trade vans and they prevented break-ins when targeted at the Sandown Park Toolfair… They work, FACT! 👌🏼😉

@@sotaelectricalDeWalt did a demo for me… I was impressed. If you have two vans parked up and one has VanGuardian fitted thieves are more likely to target the one without, so as a deterrent it works! 😊
Wouldn't be surprised if a small drill in the right place would defeat this
I was thinking two pops with a nail gun in either speaker. It needs to be inside the van really.
But its plastic...whats its melting temperature? The noise could be supressed by some quick hardening or thick substance, foam or super high viscosity material like mollasses or tar etc?

Alarms and cameras are deterents, thieves dont know who is watching, but if they know what your product does they will look elsewhere, Vanguard is an additional layer of security to deter thieves. nice product. I own a decent car and have had 2 systems installed, Ghost II and Scopion S5, even with the keys they cannot drive it without knowing the secret input sequence from the vehicles own switches/ indicators/flappy paddles, scorpion will track the vehicle and alert the owner immediatly if the vehicle is lifted, however gentle due to geo fencing. Why not fit some metal chequer plate doors on the inside of the van doors that you can put a traditional padlock on. So you would have a second barrier preventing access to the tools. Surely they will just come with a sledge hammer and knock the thing off then come back the next night when your waiting for the replacement.
A couple of swings with a lump hammer will surely knock that off, and then once on the floor a couple of more swings to smash the alarms?
What do you think, do you think it can be easily hammered off?
Yeah probably but hopefully it’s gone off and got my attention by then, all I want is this to get my attention, nothing else
There just hold a towel over it so you can't hear it then lever it off with a screwdriver
they should make a induction charger kit for it , so it does not need removing for battery charging , does it have notifications / sms ?
good thought. along those lines, I do think their AAA's battery useage design is a bit underwhelming, AA's would only make it slightly larger but definitely longer life.
Then I can bay one off this get remote and switch off your alarm ???
Good bit of kit, seen it on dragon's den was surprised none of the dragon's went for it, def a major deterrent.
i bought these for my van back when they were promoting them early release. and i did like it it works but the remote snapped in my pocket as its thin 3d printed and just got crushed... it was quite loud even just to arm the thing u get looked at like I'm the thief lol just arming the damn thing XD, anyway since then the batteries died i put new ones in and it wasn't working thing they got wet inside, lastly since then my van broke down and needs a new gearbox so thats been SORN and I'm not using it currently so i went to pull the alarms off to put on my land rover and snapped the casing :I
And the problem with this is thieves do not care about noise they do it in broad daylight light now as they no they won’t get into to trouble but I suppose every little helps
Looks like a good system.
How does it cope with animals, such as cats brushing up side and any indicator for when battery going low?
Don’t know yet buddy, I’m going to do a follow up video in a month
The sensitivity is adjustable to seven levels, as mentioned by the owner himself on one of his videos.
How tough is it? Could it be knocked off with hammer and smashed to pieces when its on the ground in a few seconds?
How is it when by a busy road, windy rainy weather etc please?
I will have to get back to you on this, only fitted them last week 👍👍
Does it also go off every 2 hours after 3am when the temperature is below 5 degrees or randomly every day if its over 30, or every time there's a bit of a stiff wind blowing?
If only had it like 5 days 🤣 I’m going to do a follow up review on it in a month or so
Yes!! Had them on my company van. Heavy rain, wind. Middle of the night😡
Put 2 bull mastiffs in the back at night and leave the van unlocked 😂
if you parked your van around the block from your work how would you know if it sounded? does the fob make a noise to let you know. not clear from the video.
Hi Jay, the alarm is an alarm, no other alert. The alarm isn’t just to make you aware, it’s to deter someone from continuing the break in attempt, so if your van was around the corner, hopefully they would still get spooked
I'm confused why no one has done a nozzle based thing for vans. In that when you detect someone is breaking in you either

Is there a van out there purpose built by the manufacturer to be extra secure with heavier gauge metal panels, with more secure doors, better grade locks and built in high security systems? Seems like there might be a market niche.
I don’t think there is, the reason the vans are all thin metal is to do with weight reduction, personally I would prefer a heavier more secure van
