If you have puffy monolids just like me, do you notice that your overall eye shape is upward slanted, but they also have a downward shadow and this confuses you to death when it comes to doing a winged liner?
I feel you bae, I’ve been there too :))
Actually, we could still do a winged liner (and I have a separate video for that look)
But, if you wanna try something new, cute, less confusing & totally flattering on puffy monolid eyes, I recommend this PUPPY LINER.
It hugs the curve of our monolids perfectly.
No need to worry about “At what angle should I flick the wing? Oh, it’s too upward, I look angry!…”
Just follow the natural curve of your eyes and you’ll be OK.
In this video, I will give you 2 versions of this PUPPY LINER:
Look #1. A triangular wing at the end, ideal for bold & edgy makeup
Look #2. A thin line at the end, ideal for soft & gentle makeup

Yes, I did that. I have a long story of thinking about RUclips for 10 years, finally started at the age of 24, stumbled upon a video called 🔴 How to Get Your First 100 Subscribers by Sean Cannell at Think Media. When I watched until the point where Sean said that "If you've watched more than 10 of my videos [...] and your first video isn't posted yet, please turn this off and post your first video by tonight". And I did that :)))
After a few first videos, I started feeling down, uncertain & hopeless about my future. But I had spent the last decade of my life giving up on a goal whenever things got tough, so I felt like RUclips was my last chance, I had to stay with it and did something to improve. So I revisited Think Media and joined their RUclips INFLUENCE CHALLENGE. I usually feel scared & uncomfortable when doing something without knowing a lot about it, so their sharing of knowledge & emotional support helped calm me down.
Then I decided to enroll in their full RUclips course. I think if I want to make RUclips a serious career, then I should study it seriously. After about 10 months, I still have a lot of bad days, self doubts & moments when I feel like "I'm never gonna make it, I'm just fooling myself", but I have done way better than I thought I would (I used to think I could never reach 100 subscribers :)))
It's weird and hard to describe for now but the world just seems brighter to me 😌
Anyways, if you grew up watching other RUclipsrs and wondering "what if I start my own channel one day?", and you're somehow like me (in need of proper knowledge before doing something), you could consider diving into Think Media's free materials first and, maybe one day, become a student when you feel ready.

There are times when I feel like my love for makeup has died out because I kept buying good makeup products but couldn’t do a stunning eye look for myself. I had been wanting to do very closed-up eye makeup for 2 years before filming my first video. There were times when I did try to film at only 1 angle for the whole video because that requires much less effort, but I truly like the closed-up shots way more!!! My eyes just won't allow for a winged cat or fox liner, maybe a pro mua could do that on me, so this is perfect. Now I just gotta figure out how to do it with my oh so shaking hands

I appreciate the tutorial and it was very informative, I just wanted to mention that if you have to clean your lines, it's better to use setting powder on an angled brush or concealer/foundation instead of a qtip.

I always look soooo bad with makeup worst than without... :( and it's hard to find great makeup tutorial for hooded eyes, usually is more "Mature look" like smooky than "cute"). I always feel so happy when someone tells me they have the same eye shape because I hardly see someone like me too 🤗 To be honest with you, I don't know if that is the "official name" for our eye shape, I just gathered all the words that I think would best describe our eyes :))))

I've found my exactly eye shape, except for my eyelids cant's see. They disappears when i fully open my eyes😭😭 Should i use tape???
Oh I think I can feel you a bit because when I talk to someone in person, most of my eyelids disappear too and the person in front of me is very likely to think that I'm true monolids. You can see my eyelids that clear because I use a VERY ZOOM IN camera.
TRY THE EYELID TAPE IF YOU WANT. It's just a makeup accessory, nothing dangerous, try it!!!
When I studied professional makeup, I came across the lesson about using eyelid tape, too. It's actually a challenging technique, you might have a lot of fun trying it:)))
I would say I don't like using eyelid tape on myself because I'm trying to find ways to do makeup on our true eye shape (also, I SUCKED at putting them on so I gave up :))). But IT IS WORTH TRYING, who knows if you really love the look of yourself in eyelid tape 💪🏻

Oh I’m sorry that you’ve felt that way, Ella 😱 I’ve never heard of “asian fishing” before your comment, so I gotta go search for it and after watching one video, I think I can get it a little bit. I cannot tell you how other people will think but for me PERSONALLY: as long as you just do puppy eyeliner because you like it, it looks so cute, then I don’t feel disrespected by your action. I’ve actually watched some European RUclipsrs who love K-Pop so much that they incorporate Korean makeup styles into their routine, but they still look like themselves & act like themselves.
If you’re still nervous, then maybe try this makeup and ask your Asian friends around you. I was born and raised in Vietnam, so I won’t understand how your Asian friends in your contry will feel. I think their feelings should be understood and respected 🧸

When I first saw your comment, my initial thought was "Then why are you even watching my video? Just rock your bare skin & watch other contents that are meaningful to you"
But thank God I resisted the temptation to do that right afterwards 😂 And, looking back, I think you have a good point: Makeup takes up a lot of time in our life. I think so too, 100% agree 👍🏻
In fact, there was a time when I felt like makeup took me so much time to the point where I asked myself "Am I missing other meaningful things in life???"
So when I started this channel, I actually stopped watching makeup videos and took up other hobbies like cooking & sewing. And, surprisingly, I started to feel much more alive!!! Then a lot of things happened in between: the pandemic, the ups and downs in doing RUclips, the internal shift from fixed to growth mindset, the decision to lose weight and a million other things... I now have come to a place where I feel like makeup is also a hobby to me like cooking & sewing, I don't need them to survive but I need to have time doing them so that I can feel alive 🌱
I'm still a mess, I haven't found a perfect amount of time for makeup in my life, but I'm curious to figure that out one day :)))) I also do makeup very slowly and haven't been able to speed up.
So if you're feeling like I used to do, I hope you'll feel related by my story and get better soon.
If you truly don't wanna spend time on eyeliner or makeup in general, then just rock your bare skin and watch other meaningful contents on RUclips. I did that too. Although I'm a makeup person, I'm in bare face most of the time and binge watching on cooking videos every day 😆
If what you mean is the way I do this liner is too time-consuming then... I haven't found a solution for this although I do wanna get faster in the future 😂
